@Dustin Nosler Think Ryu will still be around by then?
6 hours, 21 minutes ago on Remember How Many Starting Pitchers A Team Really Needs
@Dustin Nosler can't we just send them Kevin Millar, cecil fielder, and Ethier for him now.

@Dustin Nosler ...in baseball years.

@Dustin Nosler So, when Kershaw is old.
@Mike Petriello @PasadenaDodger didn't he end up having TJ surgery one of his dodgers seasons?
6 hours, 24 minutes ago on Remember How Many Starting Pitchers A Team Really Needs
@Lobo @ABSmileBunch I thought they had to wait 4-5 years before posting players...or maybe that's just the 'usual' time frame since they want to get some value out of the guys they sign.

@JackedNate @ABSmileBunch Damn you Japan and your culture of honour.

I know it's years down the road, but I kind of wish it was now.

When can the Dodgers sign Otani?
6 hours, 28 minutes ago on Remember How Many Starting Pitchers A Team Really Needs
@Dustin Nosler If I remember correctly, Prokopec had at least one OK stretch as a starter for hte Dodgers...I saw GAgne start a couple of games for the Dodgers in Pittsburgh and Cincinnati way back then...and then I saw him close games too.

@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex @GordonMoody (Not a Moderator) Would Sherzer go for 6? it's more total money than he turned down, but less years.
6 hours, 31 minutes ago on Remember How Many Starting Pitchers A Team Really Needs
@capnsparrow @Mike Petriello @Jacopo (How is this a bad plan!) His former agent is now GM in Arizona...that may be something to watch.
6 hours, 32 minutes ago on Remember How Many Starting Pitchers A Team Really Needs
@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex @ABSmileBunch probably not worth it...if spending that kind of money on a starter, just sign one of the FA's and keep the prospects/Ryu.

@Tymathee @ABSmileBunch not helpful.

Do you think the Dodgers might pursue Hamels in a trade? What might it take to acquire him? Is there any scenario where they acquire Hamels, but they're also able to keep both Seager and Urias (assuming Joc is trade fodder in this case).
@Disgruntled Goat @ABSmileBunch @HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex Awww. Go fuck myself!

@Disgruntled Goat @ABSmileBunch @HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex ...but will likely happen because the universe hates us.
@Disgruntled Goat @ABSmileBunch @HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex sorry, that's a worst case scenario that I don't want to happen.
@Disgruntled Goat @HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex Billingsley getting 3 million from the dodgers to put up 4 WAR for the Giants.
@Disgruntled Goat Carl Crawford could end up being this guy too.
@Purple Drank @Disgruntled Goat @cvrinc Ethier and CC for CC and A-rod
@Disgruntled Goat that should bump the Yankees back up over the dodgers for 'highest opening day payroll' right?
@Purple Drank @ABSmileBunch I'd rather not settle for that, but it's not like there are tons of options for upgrading the positoin. I would be find with the Dodgers overpaying for Martin in dollars and year...they'd need to get that sorted out before the non-tender deadline though. if they don't then there's some value in knowing what/who you have to work with rather than non-tendering him and hoping you're able to re-sign him cheaper or find someone else who will be an upgrade...Hell, can't we say there's also some value to the contributions Martin makes in leadership/instruction to younger players.
If AJ ellis gets a raise to about $4 million, and is a 1 war player (either as starter or backup/platoon) then he'd be totes worth it...I think the dodgers should offer him arb, then settle on something around $4 million.
@ tomato @ABSmileBunch too much.
@ tomato @ABSmileBunch I prefer my math.
according to tomato, Sandoval will get 9 years 90 million dollars this off season.

@deblueLostintheWilderness I calculated it in game 1, it was something like Giants = .343, royals = .107...part of the royals futility was Bumgarner in that game, but it also seemed like the giants were getting a bunch of dribblers through the infield...the next game which the royals won it was more even (something like R=.333, G=.313).
@deblueLostintheWilderness because you don't give a shit.

@Dave! (Or Justin Turner, Maybe) *and arbitrary point in time.
@Dave! (Or Justin Turner, Maybe) yep...this is a truth I will keep in my back pocket....what we see here is not a dynasty, just some random clustering around a point in time.
@the great dick tater @ABSmileBunch @Weston T Sure, I'd love to see Fernandez and STanton in Dodger Blue...but I also think that a win is more emotionally rewarding if they do it with Kemp and Kershaw...in any case, I'd still be happy if they won, regardless, but I like how VND once said it (during the height of Matt Kemp trade hysteria), "at some point it just becomes a bunch of guys in a uniform"...and I remember when that's the way the Dodgers felt and I wasn't as emotionally invested in those teams (also, they kind of sucked).
@TheOcelot @ABSmileBunch @Purple Drank clean articulate labelling.
@the great dick tater @ABSmileBunch @Weston T ...I'm assuming that 'bias' here is used in the way as if to suggest 'irrational' or 'unreasonable'...as far as I'm concerned, it's neither.
@the great dick tater @ABSmileBunch @Weston T yeah, but why is it a 'bias' to get emotionally attached to players? isn't that part of being human?
@the great dick tater @Tymathee @ABSmileBunch @Mike Petriello *bag of dicks
@the great dick tater @Weston T i wouldn't trade Kershaw being an ace for a WS since part of winning a WS (for me) is to see the team have players that I actually like and who are actually 'dodgers' rather than the detritus that move from one team to another every year.
@Purple Drank I don't think that conforms to the business casual work culture environment...today may be the day you (as the only one dressed for work) get a huge promotion!
@DodgerDawg @ABSmileBunch @Condorave by 'dominating' the giants.
@deblueLostintheWilderness the differences in win percentage probably have to fall within (or close to) the margin of error...maybe it would be more palatable if each series was best of 7 (like the NBA and NHL), but that would make the playoffs go to nearly thanksgiving...and as an outdoor sport that introduces all sorts of weather related unpredictability that could also negate the whole idea of 'best winning percentage'.
@Mike Petriello @ABSmileBunch That seems like a very team friendly deal...he's a tough player to dislike, but at least the dodgers giants rivalry for this era will be summed up by the 2 dueling aces...hopefully the narrative switches to Kershaw and the Dodgers dominating this rivalry soon.
@Mike Petriello @ABSmileBunch just looked it up. thanks.
have the giants extended Bumgarner yet? he has to be close to free agency (next winter?).
@Condorave The thing is, moving forward, I think Kershaw has a better opportunity to win next season than Bumgarner...so, wash, rinse, repeat...we can/should move on tothinking about next season...and when Kershaw does finally get his WS ring as a dodger it will be sweeter because of the difficulty he's had getting there early in his career.
@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex or traded before the rule 5.

@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Mike Petriello @ABSmileBunch so, lee was 18 when drafted in June 2010, he's been through the rule 5 in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014 is his fifth...so, it looks like he will need to be protected.
when I woke up this morning, there was a moment where I forgot what happened last night, then I remembered and was bummed...unlike most people here, I'm more bummed that the Royals lost than I am about the Giants winning.
@Mike Petriello @ABSmileBunch I'm surprised schlebler is in the 'needs to be protected' camp...I presumed he hadn't been in the organization as long as Lee (since I'd only really heard much about him this season).
