Kind of weird that the only guards on the list are Jordan, Magic, and Kobe.

Great work Ben.  I couldn't agree more.  Way to break it down too, that really illustrates how ridiculous it has gotten.

5 minutes of Mark Sanchez instead of some of those baseball highlights.

I can't think of anyone who I would be less interested to get basketball takes on than Kurt Rambis.

Like you said, it can be so good.  But most of the time, it is a waste of time.  You have to go to the NBA/MLB websites these days to get decent size highlights, it's ridiculous.  Take 30 seconds to SHOW us the game, and then 3 minutes to talk about it?  WHY!?

@CollegeWolf I was literally LOLing on the #22 when reading the Pee King Vikings comment, and subsequent Kissing Suzy Kolber follow up comments.  The people on the bus have to be wondering what comedic periodical I print out every Monday which gives me so many more LOL moments on that bus ride than the rest of the week combined.  They would be alarmed if they learned it was actually a weekly "news update" about football that is written to be taken seriously.  Unintentional comedy is the funniest kind.

@Wolfenstein Never less than a steal per game or a block per game in any season?  That's a great stat.  I secretly have kind of high hopes for AK47.  Sounds like he completely owned Euroleague and the Olympics since hs left the L.  I like him as a vet on this team. I hope.

Leezy could end up being the kind of guy who is just good to have on the floor.  He seems like a smart player.  Plays tough D, seems wise & athletic out there.

@WithMalice  @CollegeWolf Oh, I didn't realize that the Mavs had 2 1st teamers, a 3rd teamer, and a GM of the Year that year.  Or that they didn't make it out of the conference semis in 2007.

Great counterpoint Donald, you really put me in a box there.

@WithMalice  @CollegeWolf  Come on Don, don't put words in my mouth again.  Do the math.  If one team has (according to your votes) 2 of the best 5 players in the league, and 3 of the best 15, plus a GM of the year (which would mean good role players), one would think they could at least get to the conference finals.

That is simple logic Don.

Hey @WithMalice your boy Gasoft is really looking like a 3rd teamer!!  What a competitor.  You never were able to tell me why Mitch KupCHECK deserves GM of the year.  But thanks for the laugh!

Dirk should've been on the 3rd team. Can't believe Melo & Josh were picked over him.

KG is owning.  Winner.

@WithMalice Oh man.  Here we go.  Mitchy boy gave away Lamar Odom, and failed to get CP3 to LA, while alienating Gasolina in the meantime.  He deserves GM of the year, because of.... ??? ....  Sessions?  Please.

I meant Dirk should've been on the list, as in on the top 3 teams somewhere.  He was on my 3rd.

I'm not a Blake guy either but I just can't see putting Gasol ahead of him unless you are a biased Lakers fan.

Nice comments guys, haha.  Hey With Malice - did you vote Kupcheck for GM of the Year?!  hahahahaha!  Some one did, it HAD to be you.

For what it's worth I had Kobe on my 1st team.  I thought Dirk should've been on there.  Agree that Bynum should be 1st team over Dwight this season.  Love is 2nd team.

And come on, Blake > Pau this year. That's obvious.

Blake got the last spot on my 3rd team, but still...Pau is the ultimate 3rd banana.  If I'm putting a 3rd on my ballot, it's Harden or Pierce/Rondo.

Stan is just going at the Reddick/Barea mismatch and the Howard/Love mismatch to generate offense, and everyone else line up at the 3. So easy with the lineup we have in.

Very interesting article, Derok. Although I am generally pro-players, and believe they should be able to more or less control their own destiny, you bring up several good points, and something does have to change. All of this Chris Paul/Dwight Howard stuff right after the lockout ends and season is supposed to start is annoying and ridiculous. You would have thought with such a massive lockout, and the whole landscape of the NBA and how league issues are handled being able to potentially change with a new CBA, that SOMEONE on one of the sides of the negotiating table could have brought up some creative solutions. Instead, both sides haggled over percentages of revenue, and the same major issues harming the NBA before the lockout went unaddressed, and will continue to be a thorn in the side of many true NBA fans.

It has everything to do with Kevin Garnett, and nothing to do with us. You would love him too if you had watched him play and shared the community with him for over a decade. Watching him night in and night out was always a pleasure and a treat. And despite what he may seem to many people now, he was (and I believe still is) an amazing guy, beloved by all teammates fans, and everyone he interacted with. And his interviews were always so candid and...exciting! Not to mention how hard he worked, how cool he was, how larger than life he always seemed in person (from a physical and charismatic standpoint)...it goes on and on.

I got Shaq, but barely. Mainly because he was more dominating and impactful in his prime. And he was more phyiscally unique and socially impactful. Great discussion topic, this is so close that it seems no one on the panel had a strong opinion leaning heavily toward one of the other, and I echo those sentiments.
