Hank was outplayed in the last Tampa game.. Plain and simple.. Wouldn't mind giving a stretch of games to Talbot if this keeps up.

This is very solid. Nonetheless, despite the numbers I strongly agree with the fact that if he is Nhl ready, he will play.

Although this felt like this was directed more at just taking the other side of some of Kevin's comments, a bit pointless I thought because there are other open topics to discuss but I do agree with the Corsi argument. Possession is huge and being consistently below 50% is a red flag. Nonetheless, he can hit well ( 8th in league )and block shots so it can fill some voids. At the end of the day, AV is going to put the best team on the ice. It helps with competition and it doesn't put responsibility on the younger guys if there not ready. If anything, it's a suitable replacement for Dorsett who was not anything special. Tough to justify the terms and salary but it's not like this is the first time Sathers offered an UFA a questionable contract

Ideally his numbers will drop off, or at least, don't be surprised if hes sub 35 points. Less Ice time, and a team that does not score as much as the sharks do.

@Falconer Im not so sure about this. Fast has not shown enough offensively to be in the starting lineup let alone the third line, but id say drop him to 4th line wing. To fill the third line, we need to either bring in a top 3 center or slot Moore in that spot for the time being with Miller on the wing. Ideally we need another top 6 forward somewhere for depth because if any of those guys go down or slump then we are going to have some issues scoring.
I agree, but there is also a huge risk when its the playoffs and your most gifted scorer is inconsistent. Two playoff appearances in a row and two duds for the big man. Not only that, but he honestly looked invisible those two years and did not contribute. I'll admit that Nash's all around game has looked better this year, but we need him to be on the score sheet come playoff time.

Parenteu is a top 6, especially on a team like the rangers. He is very effective on the power play, has great vison, and has put up strong numbers depsite losing Tavares as a linemate.
Nevertheless, he is 30 years old, he is having a down year, and the rangers lines are already clicking.
If we let Girardi go, we need to have an nhl ready dman in return, coupled with a first round pick and maybe a mid range prospect/ third rounder.

Even with the expectation you inherit with a contract like that, I actually wouldn't blame Hank for that one. Nevertheless, he does owe this team brilliance after a miserable start to the season. But I agree that if he was at his best, he could have stole us that game.

Oh and back to the topic at hand, I think Sather got a steal for Klein and he is the type of guy we need for the playoffs. He reminds me a bit of Sauer.
I feel like the past two games we got robbed out of potential points on two plays. 1st, Kreiders ill advised penalty, and 2nd is the lucky goal by steen.
You can say all you want about how the team played for the entire game. But if these two incidients dont occur the rangers could be atleast walking away with 2 points.
This reminds me of earlier in the year when the team was around .500 and they were playing well but they werent catching any breaks.
Lets hope things turn around fast because our division is way too close
@GLENsatherVSglennDANZIG he averages around 15 goals a season so he could be a solid 3 and on okay 2. However ideally we would like to have him on the 3rd line for some scoring depth

@gravey94 @ThrSage well besides korpi because hes actually one that we drafted but very good point.
@DanW Thomas was called up for a game and although I have not seen bourque play in Hartford, i you go by stats alone it looks like he has a few guys ahea of him, ex, Thomas, Miller, Kreider, Newbury, Segal

Nah. Torts just needs to hire an extremely strict publicist.

He's not banged up. He just isn't playing playoff hockey. His finesse deke around everyone game does not work in the postseason. He needs to be smarter and he needs to play with more intensity.

Nash is making bad decisions with the puck. Plain and simple. Nobody can question his effort but he is making turnover after turnover because he is trying to do too much.
He draws the entire caps team when he is on the puck going through the neutral zone. He needs to make the appropriate pass and find the open man instead of losing the puck and turning it over.

Kreider looks invisble when he plays. The only thing he is good for is his speed and shot. Nevertheless, we need a guy on the third line with intangibles and a good hockey IQ. Pyatt has actually played well in the series and it would be a big mistake to scratch him.

Man guys, our Derek Stepan is not going to come cheap next year. He is a top 10 center at the moment and the lowest I can see him getting right now is 4.5 million for 5 years.
2 years ago on Rangers 4, Hurricanes 3, SO
Stepan has not only been a first line center this season, but a possible selke candidate.
He fulfilled his biggest need during the offseason.
He has allowed himself to take the next step by becoming much stronger on the puck, and very difficult to beat on the boards.
That, with his existing combination of speed, skills, and an excellent hockey IQ, makes for a very promising future.
2 years ago on Is Derek Stepan A First Line Center?
Quite honestly, I like having Clowe on the team, but not at the cost to get him. Looking at the circumstances, we gave up way too much for a player that has not scored a goal this year. potentially two second rounders and a third rounder? We drafted Derek Stepan, ( Arguably our most effective player) in the second round.
With that being said, we are currently LAST in the league in goals per game. To give up potential draft prospects for someone that is not going to dramatically improve our goal scoring, that is a red flag in my opinion.
Lastly, When looking at our record against playoff teams, it is safe to assume that if we do reach the playoffs, we are likely to be eliminated by the second round. Why give up the future of the organization when your not in the hunt to win it all.
I like Clowe as a player and think he is very effective. But strategically, this was not the right move for our team
