Richards is a total bum.

Lockout-shortened season? That means nothing. The guy did not put in is work during the off-season and is lazy on the rink.

He is 33 and will be earning 6.7 million for the next six years?!

He is barely a number 4 NHL center at this point, He is terrible.

And blaming this season on the lock-out or some mysterious undiagnosed injury that they might discover is BS. The guy is done. He can't skate pass or score.

If they do bring him back by some miracle and he does bounce back slightly, he will not get better over 5 years at 34+.

Players, especially older ones do not improve as they age, with very few exceptions.

This guy is done.

@KevinDeLury"Listen, I get it, every team has injuries and it's no excuse, but the Rangers are lacking a nastiness in this series that both players could offer."

I don't buy it. It is just excuse making.

Boston has three rookie defenseman in the lineup.

And Staal is not nasty, tough, but not nasty.

Tortorella's Rangers will always put undue pressure on Hank and the D because they can't score, especially on the PP. Maybe he steals a series here or there, but they don't score and when the PP is 0-8 over 2 playoff games and 2-32 over 9, you get what you see, a 4-5 hockey team with an outstanding goaltender.

@Brukie_  spot on. you are missing the potential of what Clowe could be. He played 12 uninspiring games actually

Brassard is " pretty good on the power play?" Brad Richards is supposed to be pretty good on the power play too.

@IcyCup  - great response. well thought out and stated i might add. however, i disagree with the gist of it. when i refer to coach and plan or lack thereof it is offensively. he has been a good defensive coach. my gripe with kreider/miller is that there is an un-eveness there and i have written about this extensively. i don't think torts has been fair with kreider at all and has been overly fair with miller (who has already burned up yr 1 of his contract.) i also disagree with your statement that you can't be young and/or brutal and regress. the nyr all-time roster is littered with young players who were poorly developed. my humble opinion says that miller (projects as a two-way center) should be developing in hartford. his last half dozen or so games he has played poorly. kreider (with his skill-set that projects as a top 6 left wing) needs to be given room and opportunity to grow into his game. he needs to be put in position to succeed, like he was during last year's playoffs.

Miller should be in Hartford. He has been brutal and is regressing. Coach is burying Kreider when he should be in the top six. Why is he heaping ice on Zucarello? He has no plan and no clue. If he had no Hank, he'd be fired two years ago.

@ThrSage Everything about Richards is inept. His game, his leadership. The fact that he treats the puck like a grenade, doesn't back check and can't pass anymore, oh and also that he overstays his shifts. He's done. Like Chris Drury at the end.

@Iron Mike bingo. there are huge problems in both places. just watch Hank post game. that room is either divided or broken.

I think you are reading this one completely wrong. There are huge problems in that locker room and the loudest most important voice happens to be best buds with Sean Avery AND silent on the comments about the coach . To think that Cally did anything more than attach his name to a statement written by John Rosasco is putting too much faith in the captain who says less things of substance than Jeter.
