@JamieDynan for what he listed either a manual or penguin (ie link recommendations are all considered spam by Google)

@ORely exactly - My belief in Entrepreneur as a reputable zine just went the way of the Dodo. Real editors would not have posted this article.
@JamieDynan Follow his advice and your budding business will likely become lost when Google hits you with a penalty.
Seriously.. really anyone who thinks that your advice was helpful would be missing the many fine points of minutia that make SEO knowledge valuable and your article not. In fact someone taking your surface level of advice without the deep understanding that goes behind it, will likely damage their website viability, not help it.
Let's see for example your simple way to getting links.
All these methods in your "Inbound Linking" section are more likely to get you Google Penalty or Algo Slap than they are to help your site. "Inbound links. (sic) Building these links is relatively easy -- you can put
links pointing back to your site in the body of an external guest blog
post, a forum comment or citing your affiliation within an interview for
a publication."I notice you left off issues of anchor text, acquisition rates, authority of sites linking in and the number of issues you can have with Google should you not know how to do these things properly. You know like losing your entire business when they penalize your site. I could go over point by point the many details you are missing in your article, but then if you knew those you would not write articles about how simple SEO is... thanks for once again adding to the uninformed knowledge base of potential clients.
This article should never have been posted.
@DaveDavies I still see those around sometimes :)

Without them I woukd have been lost :)
Just as a caveat I had to add.. when you said you don't want anyone to record you without your permission.. I am assuming you are OK with Google doing this? Since you know they keep a record of everything else including already everything that happens on G+.. :) Go to Google.com/Dashboard ..
I think the article is very good, but the one thing Google has to fix that is not mentioned is the perception that while Facebook is creepy with it's permissions issues, many liken Google to Skynet or Big Brother and that has a whole nother set of issues all unto itself.. I am not personally saying they are, I just see comments around the net and the idea that Google is better on privacy than Facebook, hmm might be a tough sell.. but that could just be the sites I have seen. :)
