Is Bob McKenzie just out of the know??? Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie 18m
That said, at this time, NYR don't have anything imminent in terms of trade for either guy. Expect it all to play out over 7 to 10 days.

good call on the cap space...
MSL is 38. Cally is 28.
@mlsranger @Stepanzeebridge Not sure what you would get in return... MDZ is more valuable than Pouliot.

Benoit Pouliot is fighting it big time. Maybe sitting him down when Nash comes back can get him re-motivated a la Mats Zuccarello. BP has so much skill, but his problem is between his ears.
Another guy I feel needs to do more is John Moore. I loved the way he was playing last year, and I feel like I have only seen minor glimpses of that. Would love to see him paired with Staal too.
Gotta get ready for a big game in the Rangers house of horrors on Saturday.
Don't give up Kreider for the love of god.

I want this kid on the team this year. He could be the added scoring we need.

@AnnoyingJoe I was thinking the same thing. Great way to start a game, but how do these guys feel about it? Scared? Or do they like it?
I do like the question asked by Jansen asking if Rupp was ok before they decided to go. Shows that these guys understand each other.

@CinciMike Concussion or no concussion it is so hard to miss camp (especially a Torts camp) and come back and play like he did last year. It takes time to get back into the flow. Who knows maybe by the time the playoffs roll around he will be that shutdown man again.

I have to admit, last season I was very down on Avery, and I gave him a hard time. This year, you are absolutely right; he deserves to play, and he can bring much needed energy to the team (especially the way they have played lately).
I also agree Boyle and Dubinsky have been brutal to watch this year. Sitting Dubi would only make it worse. Boyle I think might react a little better to a night off, let him get his head straight. Dubinsky needs a goal more than ever and sitting him won't get one. He needs to calm down and throw pucks at the net. When he missed the net last night on that 2-on-1 you could tell we was tense. Let him get an ugly goal from the goaline. Just throw it on net from the corner. Despite the terrible game last night, Hagelin can make any linemate look pretty good, maybe you put Dubinsky with Hagelin.
Looking forward to Rupp and Wolski getting healthy, and I pray for Staal to come back.
2 years, 8 months ago on Avery Knows He Can Help | December
Hagelin is a stud.
Anyone think Anisimov should have had a goal or two? He seemed a little off to me in his game around the net, but still played well below the hashmarks on the walls.
Man that slash on Cally in front of the net was dirty. I HATE the Penguins.
Looking good! Gotta keep it up the east is so tight.

I was at that "can you hear us game" vs. the caps and I tell you that was the most emotional hockey game I have ever been to. I imagine that game is kinda what its like being a drug addict, you experience the highest of highs, and then the lowest of lows. Regardless, I am really looking forward to getting that atmosphere back in the garden it was great to see.
Do you think the first game the caps are back in the garden we are still gonna give Boudreau hell? I sure hope so...

Really not digging all of the blue on Lundvist's pads. I wish he would revert t the mostly white set he wore last season.

Aside from Richards, who in the league is a UFA that could help add some offense/skill. I am not talking blue chip players like Richards, but just watching Gaustad dominate faceoffs against the Flyers it makes me wonder...

Firstly, I like the deal. Didn't want to give up too much, and Sather did a nice job. Kennedy had a great camp, but was never given a shot due to his issue with waivers (he almost certainly would have been claimed by someone else).
Secondly, I am happy to see Del Zotto go back to the Whale. Did you see Torts' face when Del Zotto got that too many men penalty? I'd like to see Eminger get more of a chance. McD has gotten better and better, and Sauer is very solid. Del Zotto just needs to get his head on straight, and play lots of minutes in the AHL. I would be ok with moving Gilroy if we got somebody who can score up front.
We'll see what McCabe can bring to the team.

I would be in favor of sending Del Zotto down.

Here's a tip MDZ... Focus on the hockey and not what kind of suit you are going to wear. You are lucky you were even invited to Casino Night this yr.

@KevinDeLury Perhaps you are right. 7 Minutes is not a lot. I just don't know who I would take off the ice to give him more minutes...

Also, any word on if a suspension will be handed down for that cheap shot on Staal?
Kev, You are constantly criticizing Torts for not giving Avery more minutes, and though he may have had a few good games lately I think that he was pretty bad against the Canucks (few bad turnovers, and only one time crashing the net and agitating). I think Avery deserves the minutes he has, and he is lucky to be on the team at this point. He is not the player he was before he was moved to Dallas. He doesn't score. I think Fedetenko is a much more influential player and deserves the minutes that Avery has lost.
