I'm really upset right now but I'm going to go ahead and say this anyway. I feel bad for Henrik and with the number of players up for UFA at the end of next season ans the cap being lowered I feel like we owe it to him to win a cup which means we should trade him to a team with a legitimate chance bcause it's not going to happen for him in NY if it doesn't happen next year.
McGuire is the worst between the glass commentator. Jasonshyer nails it in his comments below. Who cares what peewee team these guys skated for or the obscure names of their junior high school teams. Seriously McGuire's comments are just this droning noise during the broadcast and why doe he need to ask Edzo or Eddie for his opinion of what he's blabbering about EVERY time?

The obvious place to start is with his small and unsuccessful staff - that's right i'm talking about you mr Sullivan. Is it a package deal? Too Bad! Time to move on. We need a fresh look on special teams. If Torts still has the room clearly Sully does not.

Cally needs to lead the team to victory this afternoon. Plain and simple. Wish we could insert JT Miller in and get Pyatt out of there. We also need some scoring from unlikely sources such as another one from Asham or maybe even from the D.

Caps have done a good job of neutralizing Nash,Stepan, Hags and Cally. No one else seems to matter out there right now. Zero secondary threats.
What we are missing is a healthy Staal on Ove.

NJ mailed their last game in and we finish in 6th vs Washington. It's better than Pittsburg but they are the hottest team coming into the playoffs - they just beat Boston who is fighting for first in north east. Maybe we get Clowe back .... We need his prust/Dubinsky grind and ability to finish around the net. Newbury brings physical play but no finish and Kreider is too tentative - too afraid to make a mistake (thanks torts) Rumors that Nash has hurt wrist. He better keep his head up of he's out there vs Ovie. Hank still needs to be our best player.
@Josh6 @chrisD asleep - you're right I completely forgot about that. Still without staal to Shut Down Ovie - Washington is scary. One of the hottest teams coming into the playoffs.

So Who do we want to face in the first round? My vote is Boston. The Pens owned us for much of the season and they became even better / deeper at the trade deadline. Crosby likely to return any day.
Washington is Red HOT and Ovie has found his touch and historically has given Hank problems. This coupled with the fact that we do not have Staal to shut him down. Finally (correct me here) I think we lost to the caps in the playoffs the last 2 times we faced them.
Boston would be a tight checking low scoring shot blocking affair that I think we could win - if in fact we remember how to play defense and not over-pursue the dam puck in the offensive and neutral zones.
So I say let's stay right where we are and face the B's
