Seriously - Is this some 'day of the dead' thing? Kevin - say it ain't so man!
What am I going to read first thing in the morning with my coffee?
I really do hope this blog survives - I've enjoyed it for several years so let me just take a moment and say,
THANK YOU for all your hard work.
all the best -

Hunwick, Hayes looking good! All we need is Step back in the lineup. I also hate to admit this but we played well with Malone in the lineup.

Carcillo signs with Chicago for like $5 a game...WTF?

Desjardins - holy shit! He looked way sharper than Talbot did vs NJ. Insane stop on Richards and several other key saves. Up tempo high skill level game tonight with a couple of decent fights. I am so happy it's hockey season!

As much as I like and respect St Louis I don't think he's the C of this team. He can be an emotionall leader on and off the ice but he hasn't yet earned this distinction in NY. That said I'm prob wrong who knows. DROP THE PUCK!!

Torts should probably
1) lay off the steroids for a while or what ever he's taking or not taking that make him a maniac
2) coach the Islanders - they rack dishapleen

MacD with Staal and Marty at alts. Could Hank be an alt? I know he can't wear the C but it would be a nice gesture!
How exactly is Brass worth more than Zucc?
6 months, 1 week ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
Woo Hoo! So relieved and excited about this.
Have we retained Carcillo? Glass is a good fighter but a liability defensively. We need a big body like Boyle in the middle. A guy that can block shots. Another thing we lost in Boyle is his prowess in the face-off circle.

In the face off dot - if you're not cheating you're not trying. Rangers want to win em they just need to cheat harder. If the refs are not calling the violation then it's fair game on both sides.

Great Analysis here. I've been watching him struggle this post season and this series has been his worst. He's been such a warrior for us for so long but his foot work, turnovers and lack of recovery speed hare just too dangerous against a team like LA. I'm loving our D core and feel good moving forward next season. Staal's game has suffered since his concussion and near eye loss but he has been solid.
Offensively Richards has been worse than bad. Awful turnovers, playing like he's afraid to take a hit to make play - he coughs up the puck along the boards every time someone gets near him. Richards remains on 1st unit of the PP and at the point vs an LA team that will kill you in transition - Nash on the PK and not the PP? the list goes on.
What this series is going to come down to is:
HANK THE TANK
What does Hank have left in the Tank?
We can score - we've proven that in 3 of 4 games. Can we play 60 minutes and not just the first 20 or 30?
One game, Friday - that's all tat matters. not 2 or 3 games, ONE GAME!LET'S GO RANGERS !! !!!
Bettman stick up for Car Bomb. - never happen.

@JesseHauser The thing is, Kreider can't fight with a hand that's just back from being broken. If they try to goad him I hope he's smart enough not to drop the gloves. He's proven that his emotions can get the better of him so I hope the team will rally to his side if it gets ugly.

@DP_Snotty If Brass is out Car Bomb gets the call tonight
@EquusBiz @skev303 Wish someone would take him out for the remainder of time. Endless stream of useless college hockey stats.
@Rangers_54 He was about to plant his right leg down when it gets hit. He's forced to stay on his left and he looses his balance. He goes hard to the net and he should have an exit plan but it's NOT intentional.
@SGrumet He's just trying to rally his team and the fans. If the situation was reversed and Hank got run we'd be going ballistic. If they want payback I just hope they go after Kerider and not Hank. I expect Car Bomb in the line up for Brass as a result
"Obstacles we see as fans"
We don't have to win three games in a row. We don't have to come back from a 3-1 deficit. These are just obstacles we see is fair. As players and as a team all they need to do is win one game. One. Not 3 or 9. ONE.
Can this Rangers team with the best goalie in the league and a number of seasoned veterans win one game against a team that's easily frustrated and has a goalie flops all over the ice soon as we pressure on him?
YES WE CAN! LET'S GO RANGERS
My wife flew me all the way from California to see this game. I want my (her) fucking money back!
If Nash isn't injured he's fired! Same with Stepan and many other players who looked like mere pedestrians out there.
Where's the leadership coming into the 3rd period? Where's even the sense of frustration and push back near the end of the game? WHERE IS THIS RANGERS TEAM?
Is this just another typical Rangers season - we make the post season struggle to win the first round and then get dominated in the 2nd and go play golf?
They've done it again. I get excited and they never fail to disappoint.
I fully expect a post season injury report to include: Hank (leg, hamstring shoulder) Stepan (shoulder or hand), MacD (obvious shoulder) Nash (brain).

I'm usually sarcastic and can be negative so I decided to stay positive! We've got em right where we want em. At home for game 7!
9 months ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/
We win it at home tonight! We won game 5, we're 5-0 at home in game 7s lets do this!
A little but late but I think we needed the Car Bomb in the line up last night to distract the Flyers from their game. They are so easily pulled into the shit and parade to the penalty box -it's what we needed last night.
I'm sure AV will keep it the same - we'll see.
We get last change - bench management will be key!
We need to test him early and continue to make him work. If he's not 100% making him really work out will take him off the ice. I'm not saying we need to run the guy but making him face 50 shots with 20 quality chances would do it......wait is that possible?

Another thing the Flyers did effectively was set a trap in neutral ice and at their blue line. There was no easy entry for the Rangers. No stretch passes made it through and we need to find a better entry into their zone in game 3.
Sit Del Zotto. Oh wait, we don't need to make that decision any more woohoo!

@DPSnotty - I think he ends up in Buffalo wearing the C.

We need to tighten up Defensively no matter who we're playing. The first period vs Canes and the entire game vs Sens are a testament to how important MacD is on our blueline.
I'd love to see him back in the line up and we need him in the post season for sure. The concern is that there's actually more damage to the shoulder than the Rangers are disclosing. He could have easily dislocated it without "major structural damage." Playing hurt in the post season is a given, I just hope he doesn't get targeted and end up with something considered major.
I'm with ya there Kevin - I'd love to see The Wings beat Philly! (Anybody beating The Pens is a good thing) besides we match up better vs Philly - their top producers have been blanked at the garden!
That's actually not too bad because we struggle big time vs Bishop - even if it would be emotional to see CALLY vs NY and StLouis vs Tampa Bay
I love the shot of him entering the garden with a stack of guns under his arm!

As compelling as the long contract and money may be, Cally would be going from the bright lights of Broadway and a shot at the post season to a last place team in a city that's 100 miles from nowhere.
My main issue with the long contract is his injury prone body. Cally's most affective when he's throwing himself off a cliff - all out 100% and thats's not sustainable. His body won't support his game and we're left with a guy who's out of the line up and a huge cap hit.

Just glad the ref gave him a penalty. How dumb is that in the offensive zone after the whistle? No wonder the Caps are tanking

No way the Sharks give up big Joe Thorton. We don't have a player we'd want to trade to acquire him unless it included Staal or McD which I'm not really willing to part with. One player I'd love to have is Pavelski
Detroit is weak in front of their net and in the high slot. We need to take advantage of this with simple middle drive and exploiting the seam on the 1/2 wall with players moving off the boards down low to the slot. LGR!!!!!
1 year ago on Rangers vs. Red Wings (Game 49)
It was a terrible read plain and simple. He should have been playing between the dots and in a position to step to the middle instead of cheating to the outside hoping the pass would be off the boards. The fact that he cant catch the player also sux and he doesn't try to take him down sigh...
Detroit is weak in front of their net and in the high slot. If we don't take advantage of that we don't win.
1 year ago on Gone In Nine Seconds
Can't believe he did not make the olympic team
It simply looked like a bad read by DZ. He skated outside the dots and did not adjust or react quickly enough when his man cut to the center. He could not catch him and it cost us. If the play was reviewed pre-game he should have been between the dots and ready to step up on their center.
I'm ready to shut off my cable. Maybe after the Olympics

I'm ready to shut off my cable.....at least there's e Olympics this year.
Boyle needs some more skating lessons. The guy falls down every shift. And man are we better w/o DelZotto overplaying everyone and trying way too hard to prove himself. Wish he would focus simply on stay at home D. Let's hope we play well during this stretch!

AV - have you seen enough missed shots and pucks somehow getting by DelZotto at the blue line in the offensive zone yet? Can we please recall ...,I don't know ANYONE ELSE?! PLEASE! NOW
1 year, 1 month ago on Jets 5, Rangers 2
I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed how ineffective DelZotto was on the PP in Tampa. I thought AV realized DZ had no place on the PP and we were actually better w/o him on point prior to entering that game.

If Nash is planning a return soon I wish it was not against a team that is as heavy hitting as Boston. Hope he's really ready and not caught by a Lucic body slam.
