@Satchbog @JoeyKocur Yeah, he's so bad that he's dragging the whole team down ... look at how lousy our record is. Seriously, this is a TEAM sport, and we need to recognize that every player has ups and downs, but, AS A TEAM, this is about as good a group as I've ever seen.

@Craptin McDonqvist Because by "everyone", you're probably referring to Ranger fans, and they don't follow other teams. If you check the league wide statistics, we're about in the middle of the pack for penalties for and against.

@dsclaw88 @Salyzer Which is why a prospect like Duclair was available for a trade. Our core players are young, or actually in their prime now.

@dsclaw88 @Salyzer and that is why one of Duclair or Buch was available for trade
Yeah, the Rangers definitely need help, what with their terrible record and how far they're behind the division leaders.

If you've ever had a vascular injury, you would understand why they let him play. In general, there are no unique symptoms of such an injury, other than perhaps a little soreness or tiredness, until the affected blood vessel ruptures or a clot forms. In other words, the only things the doctors had to go on were Henrik's comments at the time, which didn't indicate any particular problem. When he still didn't feel up to par a couple of days later, they probably did some tests (CT scan or sonogram, perhaps) and found the injury. I wouldn't blame the Rangers' medical staff, any more than I blame my doctor for not knowing my aorta was about to rupture. All I do is thank the fates that the EMT's reached me in time, and there was a skilled vascular surgeon available when they got me to the hospital. These types of injury do not present themselves in any obvious manner.

@scrangersfan All very true regarding Micheletti (and Rosen). Add to that their constant babbling about extraneous crap while the game is going on, and you know why the audio on MSG broadcasts is useless.
@ChrisCee1 All he did was lead the Rangers in game winning goals last year, despite missing 17 games
@J_CKfor30 And I remember that before the 2010 draft, the majority of the fans were all over the Rangers to draft a big, tough, stay at home defenseman. So, that's what they did.

Cap considerations, I imagine. After signing Hayes, and still needing to sign John Moore (or someone else for 6th D) they have to be right up against the cap

@blueshirtscorner Well, from the way you speak, you know more than anyone currently in the organization, so why don't you send a resume for the GM's job to James Dolan? Better yet, send one for janitor.

The highest the Canadian dollar has been compared to the U.S. dollar in the past four years is about $0.98 Canadian = $1.00 U.S. Currently, the actual exchange rate is $1.09 Canadian per $1.00 U.S. Sounds like someone ripped you off really bad.

Funny, we've beaten the 'Hawks twice, and they were "sturdy enough for the playoff run". They're the top scoring team in the league, and we shut them down, so maybe Girardi's not "a shell of his former self". in other words, maybe you should rethink this.

Miller has yet to prove that he can "make plays" in the NHL. He's shown potential, yes, but he's yet to break out.

What does it matter who gets the credit? The TEAM won, and that's what counts.
Here's a thought. Callahan to Edmonton for young players, prospects, draft picks. What do you think?
1 year, 2 months ago on Callahan Back on Power Play; Talbot to Start Tonight
I started taking my daughter to Ranger games when she was about 6. By the time she was eight, she was roaming the promenade alone (or so she thought. I was always about 10 feet behind her). She loved it all, the game, the excitement, the crowd reactions, and has remained a hockey fan to this day, 30 years later.
Gotta love the optimism!

The response to the media is interesting, to say the least. Similar to Torts? Hmmm … the common denominator is the media and their questions. Maybe too many dumb and repetitious questions will get to any coach?

I used to have season tickets, but I just can't afford to pay for them anymore. It's a business, and as long as the corporations and the people with cash to burn are willing to pay the price, the rest of us aren't going to be able to get tickets.

No where in any of these discussions have I heard anything about what Lundqvist wants, just guesses and opinions. Maybe this is a lot less complicated than we think it is.

@Brandon Boyle I can't see bringing up Kristo yet, especially when we have this other guy, name of Rick Nash, getting close to returning. Let BP be a place holder till Nash is ready, then see if we can make a trade, even if all we get is a draft pick.

Lindberg was MVP in the SEL playoffs. I think that gets him a real good shot at an Olympic spot.
1 year, 9 months ago on The Olympics Are Coming! The Olympics Are Coming!
@FREE LINDBERG @Herman_NYRBlog depends on which team signs him to an offer sheet. Knowing that they would need at least 7M per year in cap space indicates a lower tier team, thus a better draft pick
1 year, 9 months ago on Could Not Buying Out Richards Cause Rangers to Lose McDonagh?
@lennynyr Brassard has played a total of 25 games with the Rangers. Somehow, I don't think we should be too worried about his opinions yet.
1 year, 9 months ago on RUMOR: Scott Arniel To Be Named Assistant Coach
@lennynyr Brassard isn't the second coming of Gretzky. He looked pretty good over a short period of time with New York, but he still has to prove he can sustain it, and he still has to show that he's not the prima donna he used to be.
@Richard Falconer The big question is what does he do if the Coyotes are relocated, say to Quebec City or Seattle? Will he still want to stay with the team?
1 year, 10 months ago on Decision on Vigneault Not Imminent; Leetch to Be Messier Assistant?
@Snot-Bubbler Brooks might be considered a "good writer", if you think a writer who insists on thinking that (a) he's part of the story, and (b) he knows more about the subject than the person he's interviewing, is a good writer.
1 year, 10 months ago on Covering John Tortorella Was Not A Nightmare For Everyone
@rangersfan92 If they're going to trade Henrik, they have to do it soon. They can't let his contract run out, and they'll probably get more from him if they trade him early so the new team gets him for a full year. That being said, I want to see him finish his career in New York. Trading him is essentially giving up on the season.
1 year, 10 months ago on Is Messier a Serious Candidate to Coach This Team?
Raissman is always trying to make something out of nothing (I read the Daily News). The only time he's happy is if the coach says everything is his fault and that the interviewer has been asking only impartial and intelligent questions. Doesn't matter which sport, which coach, which interviewer, or what the question was.
1 year, 11 months ago on Keep An Eye on Torts/McGuire Interview Tonight
@calithirteen @stevenabsmith What did Maloney have to do with anything? He's been in Phoenix since 2007.
1 year, 11 months ago on You Still Want Torts Fired?
@calithirteen so it's his fault when the team doesn't do as well as you think they should (this year), but he get's no credit when they're the best team in the east (lat year)?. That doesn't work for me.
@scrangersfan Ah, there's nothing better than having some belief in your team, is there?
2 years ago on Rangers Move Into 7th Place
One big difference between Staal and Berard. Berard's eye was totally destroyed, so he actually only had one eye.
2 years ago on Staal's Vision Still Blurry, Needs to Work on Depth Perception
Now that they've opened up at least one roster spot, why not bring him up and see how he does? It can't hurt, IMHO
