@scrangersfan All very true regarding Micheletti (and Rosen). Add to that their constant babbling about extraneous crap while the game is going on, and you know why the audio on MSG broadcasts is useless.

@J_CKfor30 And I remember that before the 2010 draft, the majority of the fans were all over the Rangers to draft a big, tough, stay at home defenseman. So, that's what they did.

Cap considerations, I imagine. After signing Hayes, and still needing to sign John Moore (or someone else for 6th D) they have to be right up against the cap

@blueshirtscorner Well, from the way you speak, you know more than anyone currently in the organization, so why don't you send a resume for the GM's job to James Dolan? Better yet, send one for janitor.

The  highest the Canadian dollar has been compared to the U.S. dollar in the past four years is about $0.98 Canadian = $1.00 U.S. Currently, the actual exchange rate is $1.09 Canadian per $1.00 U.S. Sounds like someone ripped you off really bad.

Funny, we've beaten the 'Hawks twice, and they were "sturdy enough for the playoff run". They're the top scoring team in the league, and we shut them down, so maybe Girardi's not "a shell of his former self". in other words, maybe you should rethink this.

I started taking my daughter to Ranger games when she was about 6. By the time she was eight, she was roaming the promenade alone (or so she thought. I was always about 10 feet behind her). She loved it all, the game, the excitement, the crowd reactions, and has remained a hockey fan to this day, 30 years later.

@mando24179 It's called NEGOTIATION. The Rangers throw out a low ball offer, Cally's agent throws back a high one, back and forth, and hopefully they compromise on a reasonable deal.

The response to the media is interesting, to say the least. Similar to Torts? Hmmm … the common denominator is the media and their questions. Maybe too many dumb and repetitious questions will get to any coach?

I used to have season tickets, but I just can't afford to pay for them anymore. It's a business, and as long as the corporations and the people with cash to burn are willing to pay the price, the rest of us aren't going to be able to get tickets.

@Brandon Boyle I can't see bringing up Kristo yet, especially when we have this other guy, name of Rick Nash, getting close to returning. Let BP be a place holder till Nash is ready, then see if we can make a trade, even if all we get is a draft pick.

@FREE LINDBERG @Herman_NYRBlog depends on which team signs him to an offer sheet. Knowing that they would need at least 7M per year in cap space indicates a lower tier team, thus a better draft pick

@lennynyr Brassard has played a total of 25 games with the Rangers. Somehow, I don't think we should be too worried about his opinions yet.

@lennynyr Brassard isn't the second coming of Gretzky. He looked pretty good over a short period of time with New York, but he still has to prove he can sustain it, and he still has to show that he's not the prima donna he used to be.

@Snot-Bubbler Brooks might be considered a "good writer", if you think a writer who insists on thinking that (a) he's part of the story, and (b) he knows more about the subject than the person he's interviewing, is a good writer.

@rangersfan92 If they're going to trade Henrik, they have to do it soon. They can't let his contract run out, and they'll probably get more from him if they trade him early so the new team gets him for a full year. That being said, I want to see him finish his career in New York. Trading him is essentially giving up on the season.

1 year, 5 months ago on Is Messier a Serious Candidate to Coach This Team?

Reply

Raissman is always trying to make something out of nothing (I read the Daily News). The only time he's happy is if the coach says everything is his fault and that the interviewer has been asking only impartial and intelligent questions. Doesn't matter which sport, which coach, which interviewer, or what the question was.

Very well put. For the benefit of all the Ranger fans, just take a look at the Giants over the past 5 years. Three crappy seasons, for sure, but also two Super Bowl wins. It goes up, and it goes down, without any clear reason. The Rangers strike me as much the same sort of team. Capable of laying a huge egg at times, but also capable of rising up and being spectacular.
