The prevailing quasi-conspiracy theory is that the Cubs were hoping for some kind of taker (anybody, please!) would take Silva off their hands before cutting him anyway. So this seems to be in line with the Rosenthal Tweet. I guess they'd get the league minimum in salary relief anyway if someone bothers to put Silva on their roster.

Something's amiss in that table...some of the walk totals seem to be swapped with the strikeout totals. I think Marshall has a pretty good K/BB rate and the average of all those projections suggest he's around K/BB of 1.0 which I don't think is correct.
