@Brooks Barnard @bobcat091 Last thing I promise so according to my settings my phone on battery save and with normal use checking emails, writing on this article etc my phone lasted 11 hours and 43 minutes then it died. Now one thing i didn't like is it still said I had 6% battery left but then just died. so that could be a problem if you aren't close to a charger and relying on the meter to be accurate.

@Brooks Barnard You may be right my friend said he was averaging 11 to 12 hours with normal use. I do have to admit I do miss the battery on that Note 2 it lasted all day but in the end the quality and the lack of memory was the turning point for me. I also agree with you on the phone fits the person and their needs. I needed more usable memory and the size was also a deterant. Holding that big honkin thing next to my ear was almost as bad as someone using their Bluetooth out in public talking like no one else can hear you. Lol
By the way good overal article and very thought out. Thnx

9 hours is average even for S3 have a couple friends who have it. I don't saccrafice except brightness. I still get notifications just no vibrate. I had a note 2 and the fact it only had 16 gigs and you can no longer transfer apps to sd card on android 4.1 plus the cheap qaulity of the back cover made my decision to return it and try the HTC. I'm not disappointed and still believe made the right choice.
Just a note about the ATT bloat ware. You can go into settings click apps click all click the individual apps like ATT navigation and disable the app. This will keep the app from running and using up your ram. This is a feature I've never seen before on an unhacked phone. I've locked all ATT apps out and it lets you. Just something to think about. As for games I've had no lag at all and also in settings under developer settings you can activate the 2d rendering which fixes a lot of those issues you were talking about. Battery life sucks but you can also fix that in the home page pull down and select power saving I usually get around 9 hours of life by doing this.
