@Purinton I hear you man, and while I love hockey...there have been far too many games that were just barely "entertaining." I watched last night's game with two people who know nothing about hockey and it was a really tough sell.

What you described pretty much sounds like playoff hockey, which i can't wait for.

@Bueller http://rangers.lohudblogs.com/2014/12/21/rangers-hurricanes-in-review-9/

"It was the correct call on Ward’s mask situation on what should have been Matt Hunwick’s goal. The helmet was obviously jarred enough where it was either coming off, or where Ward couldn’t see, so he removed it. It wasn’t without reason. There’s no way a goalie is taking off his mask unless he’s in trouble. No way he’s taking it off when a shot is coming, unless there’s a problem. It looked to me as if Derick Brassard nudged and loosened it. The referee then has to stop play when Ward takes off the mask. Simple as that. Correct call."

Zucc received a nice outlet pass from McDonagh and Zucc made a seriously hard and crafty pass to Miller. It wasn't that long ago many Rangers couldn't catch his sick passes. It was an NHL pass and NHL caliber receive by Miller who subsequently scored. Nice.

@Gorangers0525 Henrik Lundqvist on Kevin Klein… “I think by far he has the best shot on the team, no question. He always gets it through, it’s hard. It’s not a great thing in practice, but I appreciate it in a game.  It hurts if it hits you. If you don’t use your pads or your glove, it’s going to hurt. He’s great. He’s been steady all year and he’s playing a physical game but he can definitely shoot the puck and be offensive if he wants to.  I think he has a great confidence right now with the way he moves the puck and shoots the puck.”

Alain Vigneault on the play of Kevin Klein… “(I’m) Getting a lot of heat because I am not using him on the power play, taking a lot of heat from inside our dressing room.  Kleiner has done a real job of finding the open lane, finding the open spot.  Again tonight, that’s the second time he came up real big for us in overtime.  Good for him.  I don’t know if any of you saw his ear there, but he lost a piece of it.  We sewed it back.”

Carp: So Kreider doubtful tonight (neck spasms), Glass and John Moore in, Hunwick out. Lundqvist in goal vs. Penguins.

I think that's two straight Flyers v Rangers games with almost zero snarl or nastiness. Is that not the Flyers m.o. these days or are they just that bad where they don't fight back when they suck so hard...

@JoeyKocur Zucc > St. Louis > Hagelin this game. MZA had several awesome passes and created a few nifty plays.

@betweentheworlds Should their be a coach to guide him on how to play his game? He's always the strongest guy on the ice - he has to harness it and I think a coach should break it down for him.

@Gianni74 Nice. Glass can't receive a crisp pass from the D on the fly through the neutral zone. Cement hands.

Baseball is also very linear. Which is why there are millions of stats associated with the game (it's also barely a team game, and stats are more applicable).

@scrangersfan We don't know where his young body is right now as far as its ability to take punishment. That incredibly athletic supple body of his, at 19, could be at the threshold of "not strong enough" and "able to take punishment" because he's "too" young.

@stevmore @McPhee37 Moore should be told to fight, as barbaric/gladiatorial as it sounds. Moore punches the fuck outta Skille; wait for the slow-mo at the end. His fighting style is psycho.
