@Say my Name I made a few Chronicles of Hrivik jokes last year...not sure where to go from there other than silly photoshop pics if he were to make the team.

@GregB1919 Brassard seems to do pretty well under playoff pressure. Also, with the kids...on the job training.

Also pretty sure quite a few teams are doing the equivalent of race car shakedowns the first month and a half of the season. Last year's start sucked and yet they almost won the Cup.

Stepan won't be out for the whole season so i can't see how the young guns stepping up immediately to NHL men would do harm knowing the dust will settle come mid-season.

@fs2020 Could be worse, crazy to say it. But last year we had Taylor Pyatt for depth at the beginning of the year.

@IcyCup @JBianco "UPDATE: The Rangers announced at 12:30 that Stepan suffered a broken left fibula and is currently being examined by doctors. There is no immediate timetable for how long he’ll be out but the team said it would have an update later today. It is believed this injury is related to an initial injury suffered blocking a shot during an informal skate on Sept. 9. Today’s break is in the same spot as where the puck hit his leg blocking that shot on Sept. 9."

"The highlight, or at least the most exciting thing to watch, during today three on-ice sessions was the somewhat heated back-and-forth between rookie defenseman Conor Allen and center Derick Brassard during special team drills as the Rangers’ second group practiced.

Allen was very physical in trying to clear Brassard from the net and Brassard was not too shy about whacking Allen back as he skated back to the blue line. At one point near the right post, Brassard chopped Allen down. Allen, meanwhile, also lay some heavy checks on Brassard’s PP linemates, Rick Nash and Anthony Duclair, both who looked as if they were a little sore from the physical play.

“It’s all part of the competition,” coach Alain Vigneault said. “Even if it’s in practice, I don’t expect Conor to let that veteran player get on him. There’s nothing wrong with boys being boys out there.”"

@bmurphy6832 @Josh-CK I was at a Las Vegas Wrangers game two or three years ago and it wasn't sold out by far. That place might seat 5,000. Maybe. Vegas is the wrong move.

If the NYC metro area can host three teams (NJ, NYR, NYI) Toronto definitely can host one more.

Quebec government is fucked up but the people are passionate. The new arena would seat as many fans as MSG.

Seattle: "All-Star second baseman Robinson Cano and the Seattle Mariners finalized their $240 million, 10-year contract that was agreed upon late last week. The deal, which is tied for the fourth largest contract in major league history..." -ESPN

@JoeyKocur I wish NHL network and pundits recognized the Rangers' post season effort. SCF, best team in the East pretty much. I hope more bloggers, NHL writers, etc. give the Rangers props moving into 2014-'15.
