Dale,

Pull out your old economics 101 text.

1, Maybe the tix should not have a face value. Auction them.

2. Bad idea. The bowl sites are much better. The problem is with the ticket allotment 20% of Autzen does not equal 20% of Sanford Stadium or Bryant-Denny of Michigan Stadium. They should play them all in NOLA. At least everyone would have a big party and there are enough hotel rooms.

3. Those games (like the Chic-fil-A kickoff) are about dollars and money is fueling the bus. They are not going anywhere. Thanks for allowing us the keep the WLOCP, however (another game that is about the $$$).

4. Fact is that many former FCS teams have moved up the FBS. Now what? Are you going to require a P5 schedule? Georgia Southern (now FBS) beat Florida and there are other examples. This is an economics question. If your school can not sell tix to the games they will disappear.

5. OK but not happening

6. OK but i doubt that plays increase that much. I the idea is to snap it a soon as possible, would there be as much difference as you describe? You also understand that up-tempo is not a permanent advantage, right. Defenses are adapting now. When go go fast and do not get a 1st down you put your D right back on the field.

7. The assumption of the last paragraph is a stretch. The audience does not change and audience size determines ads rates.

8. Break up control? No need, Just outbid 'em. Who would break it up? Government? ESPN is the banker that is making your school and mine flush. Your killing the goose here, Dale.

9. Again, describe the entity that will have the power to move bowl games?

10. I'm on-board with that one.

@zduckfan Thanks man. When I when to the site I got and ad for SEC Network :-}

I better not take you up on the kind offer because of our credentialed media status. I appreciate it, however.

We're counting on the Ducks to shut up the tOSU fans and deflate their recruiting swagger in GA. and

@zduckfan Thanks - I haven't had the opportunity to watch an entire Oregon game this year, until yesterday.  Very impressive performance by the Ducks in all phases of the game.

The fact that Oregon beat a Baja Georgia team made the viewing sweeter.

Hey Dale,

Just wanted to stop by and congratulate you guys on the big win. I'm guessing that 80% (maybe more) of my readers were pulling for the Ducks yesterday. You'll have near 100% support from SEC fans against Meyer.

Go Ducks!

Just got an email from BurnZone and the new system is ready to go. I'm trying to get in touch with BRB now to let him know (probably on his way home).

Here is an excerpt from BurnZones email:

We have made all the changes we feel like you guys would need to have a successful deployment and transition.
You can now embed youtube, twitter, images, etc... just by copy and pasting the URL's in the comment.  We have imported all the comments to your existing Bulldog Illustrated account. The updated plug-in just needs to be installed and activated.  When a new user creates an account in BurnZone with a matching email to the imported comments, verifies his email, and chooses to merge the old comments on his profile page the comment history will be tied together.  You can also choose to sort the comments by any of 3 options by default.
We are committed to continue to improve our product and we are happy to take any feedback you have as input into our next development priorities.  Feel free to reach out to us with any questions.

@ZippyMorocco  I don't know, Zippy. With all the pub that Nick has received one would think that would have been mentioned. I did a quick search and found the question asked several times with no answer.

Just FYI.

We are still on track for a 7 AM switch to the new commenting system - Burn Zone.

These folks are bustin' their butts to get the system ready for BI. We had some requests that they agreed to accommodate and BI will be the largest site on the system in terms of comment volume.

A couple of the things that they are doing are importing all of our old comments and readers....and that's a lot....over 1/4 gig. So everyone should be recognized by the new system....with the exception of your avatars. Those will have to be re-done.

I'm sure we will have some growing pains with the new system but we were on the old one for 4 years and still have some of the same issues that we had years ago. This time we are in direct communication with the owners and developers....a big plus.

LEXINGTON, Ky. --- Georgia senior Elizabeth Tepe captured her second straight title in the hammer throw at the Southeastern Conference Outdoor Championships in Lexington, Ky., on Thursday afternoon.

Tepe, a native of Parker, Co., posted two personal-best efforts in her six-throw series, including her winning throw of 210 feet, 7 inches, to win the competition by 3 feet, 3 inches.  This gives the Lady Bulldogs five straight championships in the event and is the program's seventh in the last nine years.  Tepe won the 2013 title with a personal-best throw of 203-4 in Columbia, Mo.
