@JRsec  @Kylenarkansas  The SEC is already brutal.  Another thing alot of people forget in this whole conference expansion thing is that even though the SEC has the best football and is the best conference by far for alot of reasons, those reasons dont appeal to UVA, UNC and Duke.  Those schools do not want to be associated with the SEC.  I personally dont give a crap, Im proud of our southern indulgences but those schools turn their nose up to our way of thinking

@Kylenarkansas   @JRsec I think the easiest thing to do, if it is WVU and FSU, is to put Mizzou back in the west and put both WVU and FSU in the east.

As an FSU fan who graduate from UGA and loves the Dawgs, I could not want this more.

I read an article the other day that raised a good point, which is worth more - the Virgnia/NC market if say UVA is playing Georgia, would that many people in Virginia watch knowing their team is going to get stomped?  Or would nationally more people watch if it is FSU Georgia? Two brand name football teams going at it would draw a much bigger national audience IMO.

Same for UNC, if UNC is playing a national brand like Alabama, does anyone outside of North Carolina or Alabama care?  probably not.

You get TV ratings by appealing to the whole country.  Adding FSU and a WVU (or even a clemson) guaruntees the SEC has 2 or 3 Marquee games every single weekend.

I know I am biased because I am an FSU fan, but please Mike Slive and schools of the SEC, take FSU, take our national brand (still strong from the 90s) and save FSU's lives, they are dying in the ACC

Haha, who the heck is Billy Connelly and why is he set on making himself look stupid by publishing these rankings?  The only teams that will unanimously be ranked ahead of the Dawgs going into the preseason will be Bama, Oregon, Ohio State and Stanford.  Dawgs2477 is right, LSU being #3 is a joke.  They have 3 for sure losses on their schedule and I smell 4.  Oklahoma has been shaky the last two seasons and they are breaking in a new QB. Im guessing OSU and Boise are ranked so high because of easy schedules?  Then you have ND and UF which I think deserve to be preason top ten, but on the back end.  Not #s 4 and 6.

The first sentence of this article is correct and its shocking this guy Billy C doesnt mind that his predictions here are terrible.  I know espn is turning into an awful place to get sports news, but zip over to Mark Schlabach's preason to early top 25 if you want to get a way better look at who the top 10 entering this upcoming season. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8778225/alabama-crimson-tide-headline-college-football-way-too-early-2013-top-25

@RaleighDawg You are correct and that was kind of my point.  I was trying to say that if the game only needs UGA signing off on it to happen, that unless ESPN cuts Georgia a check for $100 million outside of our normal TV deal, then we should block the it.  And your right, McGarity is savvy enough to know its impact and try to block it.  All in all my point was, we can't let this happen and I know we arent going to.

@converted 1981  I believe that would be impossible.  I can think of 4 good reasons this would never happen, the main one being I think the NCAA sets the start of the season or the earliest date anyone can play a game and that Monday would fall before that date.

@ecdawg  I don't either.  Even tho the season is a ways off, it is still too late to move it.  Plus, we wouldn't be the only ones recognizing how unfair to us it would be.  If the WWL put a ton of pressure on us, I would hope the conference office would go to bat for us in that situation and let them know we arent doing it.  I just wanted everyone to know how incredibly important it is that it doesn't happen.

We 110% can not let this happen. It is impossible to turnaround and play good on Saturday, 5 days after a game on Monday.  The entire athletic department, down to the mail room, should be fired if UGA let's this happen.  I trust that they will not, but if it does, it will ruin our season.

Ask FSU how well they played in 2006 and 2007 the Saturday after big Monday night games against Miami and Clemson. (2006 beat Troy by 7 pts, 2007 beat UAB by 10).  That's UAB and Troy, not a top 25 South Carolina Team.  Better yet, ask Va Tech how good it felt losing to James Madison at home 5 days after opening the season on Monday night against Boise.  That team went to the Orange Bowl that year and lost to freaking James Madison at home because of the short turnaround.

If you are like me, and think the Dawgs could have something special next season, then it should not sound that outlandish that the entire athletic department should be fired if we let this happen.  I don't give a rats a** what the WWL wants, unless they are willing to pay UGA 100 million dollars to play Monday night, nothing else is worth ruining are season to play that game.  USC will 100% beat us if we play that game on Monday night and unlike the past two years, we wont be lucky enough to overcome a USC loss this year.

@John at MrSEC I know I read it.  I just hate the gators and wish we could just banish them to the outback bowl where this sorry team belongs. How UF has made it this long with only 1 loss infuriates me.

National Title contenders don't beat Missouri by 7 at home and come withing 1 minute of losing to Louisiana-Lafayette at home.  I know you are putting them up there because they only have 1 loss, but lets be real, you can drop the Gators down a line.  Even if the Gators do beat FSU (and that's a huge if given they probably wont score at all in that game), they would still be behind 1 loss Alabama or UGA.  So essentially Florida would need the remaining undefeated teams to lose and then hope the votes rank them high enough for an SEC rematch again in the title?  Not happening, 1 loss KSU or 1 loss Oregon stays ahead of them.  This UF team simply has no shot at the natl. title because they arent playing in the SEC champ game and natl. poll voters wont let the all SEC title happen again I dont think.

This article is a joke. Boise State agreed to the deal, which means their athletic department knows they are still inferior, otherwise they would have been able to successfully lobby for the game to be in Idaho. Also is this article seriously comparing records??? Boise State plays 1 or 2 hard games a year, usually wins them (except that one time in Athens) but that is nothing compared to having to play Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and the rest on a regular basis. UGA's record is worse because Georgia actually plays real teams week after week. So quit complaining and be glad the game is in Atlanta and not on some disgrace to the game blue field
