Getting a college coach on the main set would be a welcome addition. They can add a different take on drafting HS versus pro, swing analysis/pitching mechanics insight, perhaps interesting anecdotes.

Thanks to the kind words from both Grant and David. I just feel like the Blues are oozing with missed opportunities for outreach to fans. I know the Cardinals for the longest time had the advantage of being the western and southernmost MLB team, but they continue pushing their brand into Arkansas and Oklahoma with the Cardinals caravan. The Blues, it seems, don't even try pushing into central or western Missouri when there isn't even competition from Kansas City. I now live in central Nebraska and work on a seasonal basis for the Tri-City Storm of the USHL. When I step out into the crowd, the NHL teams most represented by the fans appear to be (in order): 1. Pittsburgh (national brand; major promotion of its stars), 2. Colorado (local interest) and then St. Louis (the fact the Blues drafted Jaden Schwartz certainly didn't hurt.) I think this is an area (and especially farther east in Nebraska, in the Lincoln and Omaha metro regions) that would love to embrace Blues hockey.

I'm a Blues fan! mrmgwilson I would love to see the Blues find a way to do more outreach to their out-of-state fans. I grew up in the STL area but now live in Nebraska. While I enjoy the information the team often puts out on Facebook, Twitter and other social media sites about contests and giveaways, a lot of them seem more geared to local fans. Contests like "just be one of the first 100 people at the St. Louis Zoo to redeem your prize" or "special discount for tonight's game only!" are fine, but they really do nothing to help me when I'd have to make a nine-hour drive on short to no notice. I wish there was a way the Blues could provide more giveaways for vouchers good throughout the entire season (so I could plan a trip months in advance) or do separate contests for local and non-local fans (perhaps provide a ZIP code or something when entering). I also think a "Far and Away" night would be pretty neat. Fans who can provide a non STL Metro/Illinois address or out-of-state driver's license may qualify for a discount to a pre-determined game in the future.
