Allow fans on Twitter to pick for the Pirates in all future drafts. Results would most likely improve.

Allow fans in stadium to call for steals and bunts via text messages displayed on scoreboard. Results would likely remain the same.

Great post. Hard to take seriously what someone in the media writes when they can't even spell a name correctly, and even harder when it manages to get by the editors. These are the people that are supposedly paid to care about the Pirates.... or at least their job of covering the Pirates.

I don't recall so many people complaining about the white out when they first broke it out a few years ago. Now my Twitter feed is full of people getting bent out of shape over it. I think it's weird too... especially with Winnipeg back in the league (where I recall the white out thing started)...  but why has this fan base become so emo? We can't have nice things.

Sadly, stuff like this happens at every Steelers game (although not usually with pregnant women). That's why I got rid of my tickets a few seasons ago. It was like walking through a minefield to get to your car after the game. Just drunks and idiots everywhere. Hate to see those same types of jagoffs make their way into the Pens crowd.

Pittsburgh Police are probably callous to this kind of nonsense. They'd rather ignore a fight and send people home than deal with the paperwork for the hundreds of these incidents that go on every year.

Just a bizarre post. While the basis of the article is stupid, I can attest that Cliff Stoudt was a terrible quarterback. Just because something happened before 1995, doesn't mean it didn't happen. You sound a little bit like a Capitals blog by conveniently forgetting history. Meanwhile, if he called out Syl Apps you'd probably get in another Twitter fight.

I plan on booing, but just because we're playing the Flyers. The Jagr/Talbot stuff is only a sideshow.

On the other hand, it would be amazing if the crowd could somehow start a "HERRRR-PEEEEEES!" chant anytime Talbot is on the ice.

One of my favorite youtubes...

Gary Rissling of the Pens (who was a 5 foot tall bag of hate) vs. Milbury. The bigger Milbury throws Rissling to the ice then starts talking smack to somebody standing off camera. That's when the hilarity ensues...

I was at the game sitting in 118. I noticed a mass exodus right around the 6 minute mark. This also corresponded with the time the "Woo-ing" started. Honestly, I'm not sure which is worse. Perhaps one feeds the other.

The game didn't really play out as the kind that creates crowd hysteria. It wasn't particularly scrappy or physical. Not a lot of scoring or back and forth. Pens took control and played a puck possession kind of game. It was a joy to watch, but I never felt compelled to jump out of my seat and do the Cotton Eye Joe dance. I thought the crowd was most vocal booing the refs on a play when Matt Cooke got tackled and didn't draw a penalty.

I'm not sure you can expect a playoff atmosphere for every home game. Sometimes it's fun just to sit and watch good hockey and not jump around like a circus freak.

That being said... things I don't like:

It's too damn bright in there. Ever go to a bar that has bright lights? You never see people dancing on the tables in a joint like that... perhaps it's the same for hockey arenas.

The loud music doesn't bother me that much, but I miss the days of the talented finger of Mr. Vince Laschied. Wish they'd play more organ music.

Half of my row got up during intermission between the 2nd and 3rd period and never came back. What the hell? I never leave before the 3 stars are announced regardless of the outcome of the game.

It does suck ass that you can't get a seat in that joint for under 70 bucks. It's cheaper to go to a Steelers game and they only play 8 games at home a year.
