"So we have to divorce our conduct from our beliefs once we enter the ‘world of the marketplace’? What do they think we are, politicians? My conduct is based on my beliefs and if I divorce the two then I have ripped apart the very integrity that makes me who I am."

The fatal mistake of generations of Americans has been to trust those in government when we should have been suspiciously scrutinizing their every move. Not because there are conspiracies behind every corner, but because power inevitably corrupts. As a result of generations of our laziness and inattention, we have profoundly stupid people in positions of power like the judges on the NM supreme court who make irrational, self-contradictory, thoroughly nonsensical comments like the one you quote.

Also significant is the anti-Christian biased double standard. The purpose of the suite was to violate the rights of the photographer. And the judges permitted the injustice. On the one hand, the retarded judge quoted above pretends that Christians are free to choose what they believe while insisting they must be FORCED to do what they are told in opposition to their beliefs. On the other hand, the miscreant judge allows the deeply confused sexual abuse victims to do what they like in full expression of their beliefs AND force compliance from others who believe differently.

Tyranny is certainly no overstatement.

It appears to me the DOMA decision was not about equal protection, but about State authority vs. Federal authority.

Just to knock out a few red herrings:

  • Couple don't have rights. 'Gay' couple have exactly the same rights as the other 97% of couples: none.
  • Equal rights are not denied by the absence of 'gay marriage', which would establish a new right to marry someone of the same gender which is not a right held by the 97%. 'Gay' individuals already have exactly the same right to marry someone who consents and is of the opposite gender that the other 97% of individuals have.
  • Since, heterosexual biology is an obvious component of the physical reality of being human, those who self-identify as 'homosexual' (as opposed to someone who merely engages in homosexual behavior) is in denial of reality and is, therefore, by definition, suffering from a mental disorder. And the self-identified 'homosexuals' within the American Psychological Association are well aware of this fact.

The influx of liberal radicals from the north into NC for work is the problem there.

That's exactly right. Durham and Orange counties are virtually lost because of the universities and the yankee yuppies. Also, I'm sure it's no accident that the EPA placed a large campus in Research Triangle Park.

But we've always had Democrats. We've had such a massive influx of illegal aliens ever since they've been able to get drivers licenses that some formerly "Black" neighborhoods are now dominated by Mexicans.

The recent good news is that a lot of corruption has been exposed amongst State Democrats; Our first Republican governor in 20 years, Pat McCrory, seems to be a legitimate Conservative, unlike our (R) Senator, Richard Burr; and a voter ID law (previously vetoed by disgraced former Democrat governor Bev Perdue) has passed the House and awaits passage in the Republican majority Senate.

You're right. We still have hope. But it's frightening that even NC has been a battleground.

Consider:

  • Rush: "Why can't we just defeat it? Why do we have to address it because they raise it?"
  • Rubio: "If they raise the issue of immigration, we can't just vote against it..."
  • Rush: "We did gun control. We just voted down gun control."
  • Rubio: "Not only have we voted it down, we've offered very good alternatives ... It's important to have an alternative. And, I think, unfortunately, on immigration, if it arises, we need to have an alternative, too, because we do have things that are wrong with the immigration system."

Then, later...

  • Rush: "Why can't we just oppose something that they propose...? They are proposing things that we intrinsically disagree with. Why can't we just say 'no'?"
  • Rubio: "We have opposed, for example, their infringement on the second amendment."

So first, Rubio says the GOP offered "alternatives" to gun control, instead of simply opposing it (just say 'no'). Then he tries to equate the GOP response on gun control to the kind of opposition that Rush is talking about (just say 'no'). That's dishonest.

Enforcement of existing law (as written rather than as interpreted by Obama) would radically reduce the magnitude of the problem.

Surgery is not treatment for a mental disorder! Having a gender is not a disease, and does not require medical attention. Feeling alienated by one's own gender is a psychological disorder that needs psychological treatment.

A 'disconnect' between one's feelings or perception on the one hand and reality on the other is always addressed as problem for which the solution involves correcting the feelings or perception, except in cases of gender identity. "Sexual orientation" is not a thing. It cannot mean anything other than "sexual preference" because heterosexuality is a biological fact of humanity. The use of the word "orientation" is a rhetorical trick used in order to misrepresent homosexual acts as a result of fixed characteristics of nature in human beings, which is ridiculous because such a notion flies in the face of the obvious physical reality of the human species.

The so-called minister White has as his only argument in defense of the particular sin of homosexual acts his conclusion that transitional societal definitions are more absolute and determinative of right and wrong than God himself. What a maroon!

It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.

Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, in all things grow into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. ~Ephesians 4:11-16

The whole legal/illegal debate in this video is not important because, while Anderson is technically correct in saying no one will go to jail for being married by a minister to someone of the same gender, the issue has never been about whether someone goes to jail. It has always been about whether or not a man can be legally recognized as another man's wife.

The bottom line is that any individual who is so deeply in denial about his biological heterosexuality that he decides to commit to a monogamous, life-long relationship with another person of the same gender, by doing so necessarily brings into serious question his mental health and his fitness to parent.

Wow. You couldn't be more wrong. I love this site. TheRightScoop.com is my favorite political site. I like the video format, the frequent posts, the Conservative topics, and all the God-fearing American patriots who post here. I sometimes repost with credit because I highly recommend all Conservatives frequent The Right Scoop!

Many Libertarians are merely libertines. I agree with Zo's criticism of Republicans who want to embrace gay marriage, abortion, etc. in an attempt to court libertines who share with Conservatives an appreciation for minimal government, as all Libertarians do.

I can only conclude that by "conservative libertarian", you mean you are a Conservative who opposes Republican Statism as all Conservatives do.

I'm not sure what exactly that joker in the excerpt was proud of, but 'Western' culture and society have prospered exclusively as a result of the influence of Christ, not because of white skin. It is not skin color, but God from whom all blessings flow.

I think I know what 'Libertarian' usually means, but I've never heard of a "neo-confederate libertarian". Based on my observations, I believe it is true that many Libertarians, though not all, are little more than libertines. I appreciate Zo's criticism of those who would compromise Conservatism for marketing purposes, which are doomed to fail anyway. If Conservatives aren't conservative, then what's the point?

I have the impression that Zo is equating Federalism, as exemplified by the right to secession, with slavery. It's a tragic shame that many make the same mistake because it will be impossible for America to be restored without Federalism as intended by the Founders. Secession remains a God-given right so asserted in our own Declaration of Independence. Slavery remains a violation of human rights equally asserted in our own Declaration of Independence.

We must refuse to be put on the defensive by accepting accusations of bigotry or hatred. Sometimes Love says "no".

In fact, it could be argued (I am not doing so) that claiming someone is 'born gay' is hate-speech. Since it is an obvious fact that everyone is biologically heterosexual, then to claim someone is born homosexual is nothing less than to declare that his feelings make him inhuman.

1 year, 4 months ago on Sen. Rob Portman now supports gay marriage

Everyone is heterosexual. It is an irrefutable, biological, physical reality of being human. Every "homosexual" is actually a heterosexual with emotional issues regarding their sexuality.

Spoiling children with every indulgence may seem compassionate, but nothing could be more cruel. Thoughtful, loving parents understand both the tragic results of granting their children every wish, as well as the life-long blessings of carefully chosen discipline and limitations.

Condoning self-destructive behavior, like homosexuality and drug abuse, is at least ignorant, but more likely lazy and uncaring.
