@danblackburn That would be a pity, but it wouldn't be the end of the Ranger's world. With Talbot developing into a premier back up, Rangers can sign another starting goaltender.Talbot being a solid good and capable pro netminder changes everything actually.

McIIrath is too valuable a player to be fighting these type of guys. Bickel or another Hartford fighter should be doing that. That was ridiculous, hope it doesn't happen again. He must fight when its with the Rangers or necessary for his role protecting goalie and teammates but bouts like these, against these type of players are useless and risky.
2 weeks, 4 days ago on McIlrath Takes It On the Chin Twice vs. Baby Islanders
Yakupov doesn't like to forecheck, so he would be a rehabilitation project for AV. A strong forecheck is part of the Rangers' system now. He also is a puck hog, and shoots instead of passing-which might not be so terrible for the Rangers-but still has to be addressed. http://www.edmontonjournal.com/sports/Yakupov+frustrated+with+benching/9033031/story.html
Rather have Nail than Hemsky though, if the price wasn't too steep. Rangers would bring him into line, as they have ability to help player development process.Eg: Anisimov-made into a good two way player.-though that was a lot of Hartford-Rangers honed his 2 way skills.

Tough call about Krieder. He basically hasn't shown much- some shining moments amidst a swamp of mediocrity and confusion. He has been playing well lately apparently, maybe he has turned the corner. So a trade for a regular reliable goal scorer who is responsible defensively would help this team now, but could maybe be a long term loss. Rangers should at least wait until a huge difference maker -Carl Hagelin- is back for a few games before they rush to judgement- its still very early in the season. Hags is one of the few who can turn a team completely around.

Hope Nash plays Wednesday. If hes out for awhile Hags return will help alot.dont think kreider or miller will help unless theyve solved their issues.Once the defence is able to master AVs system we should be ok.Id still like to trade girardi or mdz as soon as we can for some skill.maybe later in the season

Watched Zuccs against Washington and realized he's an overall benefit to this team.He had a dramatic improvement from the previous season. He has his flaws, but at his present level he's a must sign.He helps this team, and that's the bottom line.Without him the Rangers are a somewhat weaker team. His passing, playmaking and vision are just superior enough to cover his deficiencies.Looking forward to seeing him in a Blueshirt this season. It would be a mistake to let him go.
More impotantly, just want to see Dereek Stepan signed long term, really believe he is going to be an NHL elite player

Really hope they sign him
Kinda shocked but honestly, I couldn't see CT making the Rangers for awhile if ever, he was small and until he got the mid twenties strength I couldn't see him impacting the team. This Kristo dude played loads on the Fighting Sioux, which is always a great team so he is seasoned and developed well.I could see him next year or later this year, making the Rangers in a 3rd or fourth line role moving up to the second line possibly. He has played with Stepan in WJC. However,on the negative side there are comments about his off ice behavior.A couple of incidents, at least one of which involved alcohol.-nothing off the wall though.
5 months ago on Rangers Trade Christian Thomas To Canadiens For Danny Kristo
Clowe's going to be gone for even a late pick, Rangers have no use for him now with his recent history.A few teams might want to chance it, but not the Rangers.Looks like the next season will be the same basic core, hopefully all RFAs they want are resigned and we go from there.Which is not as good as getting rid of Richards and bringing in good talent, but that's the way it is.It is certainly not going to be a horrible season if Richards doesn't get injured.Rangers have a real good core with prospects having space to move up .AV will succeed and it'll be ok.

Beauty pass by Derick Brassard.Seems like he is finding his game here on the Blueshirts.
7 months, 3 weeks ago on Brassard: I've never played in a game like this before
Important win against a good team..Rangers came out just about even with TO these two games, that shows Rangers have a good team. How Lundqvist plays determines the Rangers. When he's off they lose, when he's on they win.On to next game.
Every game is a must win now.Hope they can hang in until Staal is back and playing well. That will boost the team talent for the playoffs.with Staal back at peak performance,my only concern about this team not going deep again is Tort's coaching.Gotta adapt to things in the game.
7 months, 4 weeks ago on Video: Rangers, Players React to Huge Win vs. Leafs
Tension in the room probably came from not winning and not getting the goals.Problem was as everyone says they basically blew up the team from last year for various reasons, money, to get Nash.etc.They had the right bunch of players and needed a bit more. So they made too much change and it didn't work-no surprise in hindsight. Bad management by both Sather and Torts.
Now they have added the depth back -but do they have enough to match last year's team? We have 9 games to find out.If Staal returns and newcomer Moore gets more TOI I think we might be ok.If Dorsett is better at everything than Boyle that would help also.
8 months ago on Was Gaborik a Locker Room Cancer?
Girardi is crummy.Wasting shots and assignments.MDZ backslides once in awhile.Hurry back Marc! Staal should wear a cage if we make the playoffs, never mind a full face visor. With Staal this team might just have enough to get through some rounds. If Dorsett can improve our club then maybe we have enough to do better.Have to have Staal tho or we're done.
8 months ago on Staal Skates; MIller to Whale
Rangers need Marc Staal, especially the way he was playing before he got the injury. He is a game breaker, a dominating player this year.Far and away the best Dman.Hopefully with the visor he will be fine and able to play as normal soon.
8 months ago on Staal Could Be Back Before End of Regular Season
McIlrath continues to improve, as he should, and Rangers will have a real regular roster player, a skilled big dman who fights and skates.
8 months ago on Fast Has Lower Body Injury; McIlrath Fights
Have to remember Fast has been touted for years and has been playing well in the SEL-he's a good player. What is interesting is that everybody is freaking out over Oscar Lindberg's play which has been beast like in the SEL.When he gets over here we could really have something. Both guys could be capable of playing in the NHL and in the playoffs, no less.We have to keep an eye on them.
8 months ago on Fast Scores in Whale Debut; Kreider Has Two Assists
He's faster, thats going to help him.Looks like the KHL really helped his game. He's an NHL level player, not a problem at all.Good luck to him, if he gets the chance he'll make a bunch of good plays. With Clowe and eventually Dorset added everyone should be playing bigger, including the Hobbit.
8 months ago on Zuccarello More Confident
@rangersfan And he will score those 30 or 40 a year with regularity for years on another NHL team.
8 months ago on Marian Gaborik Will Be Missed
Staal is the Rangers best defenceman. His play before the incident proves this.He is in his prime and let him heal-he had orbital fractures and let them heal up.I have read nothing about concussion symptoms so that is just stinkin thinkin by some fans about his situation. A blow to the face isn't going to be threatening as far as concussion, those orbital bones are there for exactly this reason-protection of the eye and head from blows-let them heal.Maybe we'll see him back in the playoffs.Healthy recovery Marc!
8 months ago on No Timetable for Staal as He Increases Off- Ice Workouts
Marian Gaborik is one of hockey's greats. I have no doubt he'll continue to be a top NHL goal scorer for many more years.Good luck on the Blue Jackets Gabby!
