Practice is in progress.  I built up my barriers already.  Just the other day, I thought about going to get some cones.  Also, I have a  dry drainage ditch next door that can be used for off camber riding.  I can almost smell the embro in the air...or are those summer beer brats?

I couldn't agree more with what is being said here.  When I pulled up to the start line of my first race, my stomach was full of butterflies.  Once the gun went off, I was fine and loved every second of it.

Thanks for the tips Josh.  Lots of good stuff here.  I did my first race last year and while it hurt sooo bad, I have never had sooo much fun while doing it.  I was lucky enough to not be DFL but third from DFL out of 100 in my class (not counting the seven that DNF).  I am now hooked on cross racing.  Is it fall yet?

@fourflys My #1 goal in my first race was to finish also.  Yes, it was hard but I did it.  Got 90th out of 93 with 7 DNF's. It was the worst pain I have ever felt but the most fun I have ever had.  Is it fall yet?

I look at it this way, I'm a bike rider. Plain and simple. Even though I ride road, bmx flatland, fixie, 29'er and for the first time this year...cross. All disciplines offer something that the others don't. I love it all.

"We are just little boys and girls riding our bikes in grass, sand, dirt, and, hopefully, mud. We ride our bikes for fun."

This is it right here. Plain and simple. Thank you.
