ameliaanneyap "チェック" is "check" - they use Katakana, so it's pretty easy. Just like ordering food, you can "order" the check. "チェックおねがいします." Also, the old "gochisoosamadeshita" usually implies that you want the check. However, at almost every place you go, the bill will be left on your table with your main course. If you want desert or something, they just pencil it in as soon as you order.
