I have been using a Birzman floor pump for about 3 months now. I have been on the hunt for a floor pump with a more reliable attachment to the valve that takes less hand strength to operate. So far the Birzman wins by far. Super easy to attach / detach with little air lost.
Your comment that the Birzman floor pump is "too efficient" I think fails to consider one of the other great features of the head - the built in pressur release button. No worries about over inflation. Since that button is there, it takes just seconds to arrive at the exact pressure you want.
I coach younger 'cross racers and am always on the lookout for products that help them be more self sufficient. Bent / broken presta valves are a little too common. the Birzman floor pump is the best solution I've found so far
