Fun interview, Erika and Gary! That was a hoot.My favorite brand on social is a person: indie singer/songwriter Marian Call. (@mariancall on Twitter.) She's great at responding to her fans, praise, criticism, all with humor and grace, and in she's just as genuine in person. In 2010 she toured all 50 states and every Canadian province, much of which was organized via social media, occasionally on the fly. That's seriously impressive.

What a perfect reminder. Needed this. Thanks, Red.

One thing I love about you is you never stop looking inside yourself and using that to figure out what's next, even as you pwn what you're doing now. You set a great example. Good on you, sister.

That attitude drives me nuts. In nearly every single vocation or hobby you can think of, from marketing to quilting to truck driving to blogging and everything in between, there's an endless line of newbies lining up to try things out for the first time. They should be embraced and encouraged, not shunned and told to go elsewhere or, "Just Google it."
We were all newbies in our fields once, and we're newbies again every time we decide to learn something new. Pay it forward, people.

Yes, filters. This is something I wish more platforms would pay attention to. Location check-ins, for example, really get on my nerves. They have absolutely zero value for me. Mentions of tabloid-quality famous people. Religious fervor. I'd love to be able to filter all this nonsense out of the platforms I use.
