For Dora.
"However, the discounted merchandise and free concession promotions announced by the team will not start until the home opener on Jan. 23."
This made me twitch, for unknown reasons.
The game is afoot.
I've had enough Nick Johnson cases for a while. Keep Strait and Bortuzzo in PIT. They've done all they can in WBS. Send us back Despres (ALLEZ ALLEZ ALLEZ) and let's get this going.
@akus I doubt we'd get Grapes. But hopefully NHLN will continue its practice of simulcasting the HNIC 7 pm games on Saturday nights, so we might get Grapes on there. Heck...if we get lucky, maybe they'll tag on the 10 pm games too.
That was the game that, despite unreal snow in the capital and the Penguins traveling in from a game the night before, neither Washington nor the networks wanted to move, wasn't it? Dammit, now all the anger I felt in the lockout has morphed into rage against the Capitals.
But anyway...if Knuble can hang with Malkin and Neal, I say why not give it a shot? Especially if the cost is low.
So you're not the other guy from those PA Gambling ads digging into his trunk for change, either?
Who makes a betting line 17/2 anyway? Can't they just tick it up or down that extra half?
@BGW The 1:00 game is Chicago at Detroit. PHI/PIT at 4 on NBCSN, followed by WSH/NYR at 6:30 on NBCSN. The day concludes with LA/SJ on NHLN at 10:30.
Zero. NBC already has a game set for 1:00 that afternoon. NBCSN has the PIT/PHI game at 4.
This is lower than anything Philadelphia has ever done. You cannot argue this point with me. We should all be ashamed for all eternity that this happened.
Perfect use of the Jim Carrey .gif. I was in tears laughing.
I believe the Penguins found a tactical advantage in this matchup during Game 2...an extreme commitment to the concept of "grinding bitches down". Not to mention Brad Thiessen flashing the form that brought him the Bastien Award in shutting out the Checkers.
Crank up the hitting on the road, and we've got just as good a chance as any to steal a road game.
Looking at the nominees, the Jack Adams this year turns into a discussion over what decides "best coach". Is it purely and simply the most points (Vigneault), or is it the points put up relative to what the coach has to work with (Disco/Trotz)?
The burden now falls to the farm clubs to bring some true hardware to the Penguins organization this season.
I was trying to distract myself during last night's shenanigans, so I looked up the dates on which the Pittsburgh and WBS seasons ended over the last few years. This is the first time in three years that WBS has outlasted Pittsburgh on the calendar. The last time it happened was 2008, and that was by six days. PIT lost their SCF Game 6 on June 4, while WBS lost their CCF Game 6 on June 10.
If there is any hope at all, the Penguins will win tonight. Enough of this "Cardiac Penguins" bullshit. It's high time WBS grabbed their collective sac (thanks, Evason, for that line) and took command of a playoff series right from the outset.
Get it the fuck done.
luke2 Two, technically. The folks in Wheeling won Game 7 of their Round 2 series in OT last night, so they're onto round 3...I think.
It cannot go unmentioned that Norfolk played Game 3 without two of its biggest guns, Mattias Ritola and Blair Jones. Both were called up to Tampa Bay due to Downie's suspension and Malone's possible injury. Both will likely be out of the lineup again for Game 4, and according to JB's blog, the effect of "grinding bitches down" is showing on Norfolk, who after Game 3 boasted only seven healthy forwards.
Keep it up.
The WBS Penguins are 0-0. First team to 16 wins takes home the prize. That's all that matters now.
I've been following this team to varying degrees pretty much since its inception in 1999, and this is easily the best chance we've ever had to bring the Calder Cup home. The Penguins need to take this opportunity now, because none of us know if such a grand opportunity will come by again.
It starts tonight. Let's do this.
TheWorldwideLeaderInShoes I left Brooksy out because I know he'd win the argument.
Which is scarier...the picture of MSL after he just went Hannibal Lecter on someone, or the MSL .gif? Close race.
That anthem video brought tears to my eyes. So awesome, so beautiful. Wow.
Kinguin You call that artwork? Some of us call it "spam".
