I am just wondering why the Spurs have 4 PGs .They should be maintaining at least 2 SFs or add more PF or C. There is practically no substitute for TD. Talking of reaching his peak, Mills could qualify as member of the cheering squad.
11 months ago on Video: Patty Mills says he hasn't reached his peak
The Spurs are now clutching on straw! Why Childress? Very affordable.
If this is true, Spurs' mgnt have lost its sense of priority. They have FOUR PGs in the line-up. Or, are they letting go of at least 1 pg? What they need is a reliable big man NOT Splitter, Pendergraph, Bonner, Baynes. Can't mgnt see? They lost so many games because they lack a player who could reliably give rest to TD! In fact, they lost championship games. Can't coach POP see this, or Mr. Buford, Mr. Holt? Free agency came and went and they showed nothing. Do mgnt really love their PENNY?

I don't know if the writer was inferring anything or nothing. Chemistry came to Robinson and Duncan because both are great and good players. Does the team Spurs have that today? Who? Well, the Spurs have still TD but, who else? Splitter? Bonner? Pendergraph? Diaw? Baynes? Hardly! Is mgnt looking for somebody to pair with TD? It's almost too late. In 1 or2 years TD will be gone. The Spurs took too long for "twin towers."

@Spursfan66 @rtesoro440 Well Mr. Spursfan66, you can always say something about my suggestions. At least, I am NOT a BONEHEAD like you with empty gray between your ears. Deshaun Thomas was born 6'7" so he can't play c/pf so I was suggesting that he play sg or sf. Ajinca failed to impress the Spurs the last time but, perhaps he has improved and so has Pittman. As to Tyrus Thomas, he was impressive when he was with the Bulls why not give him another chance? I am telling you KNUCKLEHEAD, with the lineup the Spurs have, they will NOT contend in the wcf. YOU have NOT suggested anything to improve their lineup because you have nothing between your ears.
11 months, 2 weeks ago on A few details on Deshaun Thomas landing in France
Better than the d-league. But what were the Spurs looking for? So unclear. Did they want a sg, a sf or a big man? Certainly at 6'7" he could play sg or sf but not a big man. As of today, the line-up is 1 man remove from being complete. While they can choose to have 13 men, they haven't found somebody to train to replace TD who could be retiring soon. Or is mgnt looking for somebody to take the place of TD? Pendergragh? Who was he in the Pacers? A more consistent and viable guy is called for maybe Dexter Pittman, or Alexis Ajinca or Tyrus Thomas. Players like ASIK or VAREJAO come to mind. Forget it! They love their pennies more.
As always, mgnt failed AGAIN to address the greatest need of the team. They need a big body to give TD some rest. Jeff Pendergraph didn't show anything in Indiana so it should not be expected any better with the Spurs. Is Mr. Buford saying that the Spurs are destined to be runner-up? DON'T love your pennies so much, Sir!
He was very young and raw when drafted. With the seasoning he had, something good will come out. Keep it up Corey!
11 months, 2 weeks ago on Spurs' Cory Joseph: Honing his shooting, leadership skills
Patty Mills is 1 of several undersized men in the Spurs line-up. The Spurs must get rid of him or made a member of the cheering squad. Incidentally, Bonner must amnestied to open more slots. I'd rather coach Pop taking chances with the likes of Dexter Pittman or Alexis Ajinca or Tyrus Thomas. At least these guys know how use their body and height. An unsolicited suggestion. Why not trade Splitter for ASIK of the Rockets or VAREJAO of the Cavs? I am amazed that Seth Curry was invited in the training camp. He is a dwarf like Denmon.
11 months, 2 weeks ago on Mills leads Australia to Round 1 win over New Zealand in Oceania kick-off
Winning the nba finals means consistency, NOT 1, 2 or 3 games but 7 when necessary. True, Green have shown improvement but, he MUST be a contributor in ALL the games in the finals.
11 months, 2 weeks ago on Danny Green: My life has changed since NBA Finals
I am intrigued by Alexis Ajinca's play. He was once drafted in the nba and even tried by the Spurs. He is a legitimate 7'. Maybe he has improved his game. He Spurs should try him again.
11 months, 3 weeks ago on France falls to Greece, Canada makes comeback against Jamaica in exhibition play
Belinelli might be an efficient addition to the Spurs lineup. Will he enough to make them nba champs. Hardly!! If coach Pop and Mr. Buford and Holt and to the rest of Spurs fan out there don't mind, Don't love your nickels so much. When will you learn? Isn't the past enough lesson? How Bonner and Splitter performed. I will make some suggestions. Get rid of Patty Mills and hire him as member of the cheering squad and amnesty Matt Bonner. At his age, he can't change his game anymore. Maybe Splitter too. Take a closer look at the lineup. Trade Mills, Bonner and Splitter for ASIK of the Rockets, or for Varejao of the Cavs, or sign Tyrus Thomas who, are 26, has the experience, body and height to play 4. Give him another chance for a change instead, rather than playing the same guys or take the chance on Dexter Pittman. These are big men who can protect the rim and play defense. Are you all blind? TD is NOT getting any younger. Now, the Spurs gave the invite to Seth Curry at the training camp. WHY? He undersized like Denmon. Isn't there enough undersized players in the lineup? Or, do mgnt want a lineup dwarves?.
11 months, 3 weeks ago on Video: Spurs' Belinelli embarrasses Team Georgia with ridiculous move
The way the Spurs are recruiting players, it will surprise me if they ever get someone to replace TD. Manu is dispensable. It's useless for TP to stick around after TD retires.

Paying Gary Neal the minimum is unfair and uncalled for. He is not a rookie anymore. How much did the Spurs pay Belinelli, $6m for 2 years? Why didn't they offer the same amount to Neal?

Mosgov maybe less talented but he is healthy or trade with the Cav who have many bigs and get Varejao or just train Pittman who in 2 years may become a monster. Why Oden?
1 year ago on Spears: Greg Oden to make free agent decision next week
Conserve yours dimes Mr. Buford, Mr. Holt. There is NO pressing reason to get Oden. The risk is too great. Train Pittman now and reap the harvest in the future or. may I suggest Varejao?
1 year ago on Oden has Spurs high on his list?
Patty Mills should join the cheering squad of the Spurs instead of a player. He is too undersized and the Spurs have several guards and they need SF, PF and C. After all there's only Leonard. They MUST find a credible replacement for TD NOW NOT when he retires. I'm sure Pendergraph is NOT the man. Also find somebody to play Center unlike Splitter who disappears in crucial games. May I suggest Varejao? Well, if the Spurs are satisfied being second fiddle, the present lineup is OK!
1 year ago on Mills to play for Team Australia this summer
@The_Black_Silver_Mamba It can happen ONLY in dreams. The Spurs taking Asik? The Spurs can't "afford" him.
1 year ago on How about Asik in black and silver?
@JohanBeijer I'm glad i'm not alone in this regard. It has been awhile that i'm suggesting Varejao. The Cavs have several big men.
Guys like Mills, Neal, Blair and Bonner have to go to upgrade the lineup. MIlls is too short; Neal is ready to leave; Blair's contract has expired; Bonner is good ONLY during regular season. The participated in free agency, Pendergraph WHO? He is nobody in Indiana. Too much talk about Pop. He can't make the Spurs champs without viable materials! TD and Manu are about to hang their sneakers and NO replacements in sight. EAT your dimes Mr. Buford and Mr. Holt.
1 year ago on Spurs wrap up Summer League with win over Bucks
@jojo707 @Rambler As usual the Spurs got the crumbs in the draft. The guys in the lineup came from nowhere except Pittman. Some of those in the current lineup need to go like Blair, Mills, Neal and Bonner unless, the Spurs are satisfied being second fiddle. The Spurs participated in free agency and got nothing. Well, it is to be expected considering their track record of being spendthrift. Did they expect Pendergraph to replace TD? In your dreams!
Prince is not Rudy Gay. They lost Battier and Vasquez. Tonight, the Spurs will win by more than 8 points. GO SPURS!!!
1 year, 2 months ago on 5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Grizzlies Game 3
He has to realize that NOT ALL of the bench can play in the playoff. A coach normally uses 9 or 10 players by this time. He should be more patient. improve his game and somehow crack the rotation. At this point when Manu has his inconsistencies, maybe coach Pop will use him. Truly, he has no cause to complain and should not rock the boat or else he will follow the footsteps of Jackson. Definitely he has the height at 6'5" and he can use it to his advantage being a PG. He can request for a trade if he so desires.
1 year, 2 months ago on De Colo very frustrated with lack of playing time in the postseason
The Grizzlies were able to mount a rally because of so many miscues/errors of Manu. He MUST fix his game to prevent a repeat of the 2011 debacle or see what happen to them last year against the Thunder.
1 year, 2 months ago on Ginobili: Grizzlies' late-game rally might inspire them in Game 3
It's NOT a good thing to rely too much on TP. It's NOT always that he could give out so many assists. Play more Corey Joseph and he may to learn play in crucial games. GO SPURS!!
1 year, 2 months ago on Conley: Parker's playmaking puts defense 'at its mercy'
It's clear, Manu should NOT have fouled Allen and give the referees reason to call for a flagrant foul and for Conley leveling the score leading to extra time. Thanks to the heroics of TD, the Spurs won just the same. It was a stupid move by Manu.but, it's time to move on and finish off the Grizzlies. It will give the Spurs more time to rest for the nba finals. GO SPURS!!

1 year, 2 months ago on 5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Grizzlies Game 2
Without doubt the Warriors have better shooters but didn't last. I think some are giving the Grizzlies too much credit; that the ist game is an exception rather the rule. Randolph, if you would allow me, plays like Bonner, slow and 1 dimensional. He uses brute force to have his way. Gasol if properly guarded can't shoot the ball. He is good defensively because of his height not really his talent. If you ask me, the Warriors were harder to beat than the Grizzlies.
1 year, 2 months ago on Not the same, but Spurs see Lakers similarities in Grizzlies
If there is a weakness in the Spurs' game, it is Manu. He has so many miscues, can't shoot the ball and mysterious passes. Perhaps playing De Colo would remedy the situation. The Grizzlies will not be playing the same way and Manu presents a real problem to the Spurs' game plan.
1 year, 2 months ago on Grizzlies' Conley: Spurs have many weapons
What a revelation! A player who can't stand infront his man, a one dimensional spot up shooter all of a sudden playing better than Randolph. Can Bonner play that way again Tuesday, and the rest of the series? What an adjustment the Grizzlies have to make! GO SPURS!
1 year, 2 months ago on Spurs take out Randolph, Grizzlies offense sputters
Writers and commentators seem to give the edge to the Grizzlies to win in 6. Well, this is better than the 2011 results where the Grizzlies shutout the Spurs. In the frontcourt the Gizzlies appear to have the edge in Rndolph and Gasol while the Spurs can rely on TD alone. Even in the backcourt the Spurs have problems in Conley, Allen and Prince. Both teams have the same core as in 2011. What can the Spurs do to reverse the trend? The Grizzlies have Pondexter, Bayless and Prince and the Spurs have Diaw, Baynes and T-Mac. Comparatively, the assets of he Spurs are inferior to the Grizzlies. The Spurs have to dig in deeper if they want to avoid the 2011 debacle and hope to win. But Green has learn his lesson and Leonard has matured. Is this enough to overturn the Grizzlies advantage? Hopefully! GO SPURS!
1 year, 2 months ago on 5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Grizzlies Game 1
Remember 2011! GO SPURS GO!!!!!
1 year, 2 months ago on Coach Popovich, Parker, Ginobili discuss Grizzlies before Conference Finals
The Spurs have NO NEED for guys like Thomas. Just for the sake of discussing things, the Spurs FIRST priority is a big man and it seems it will come from free agency in either JJ Hickson or Andray Blatche or trade for Anderson Varejao or move up the draft board the draft guys like, Plumlee, Zeller, Withey or Gobert or Adams to take the place of TD. NO, the name is NOT Splitter. Interestingly, Gerard Henderson,jr and Tony Allen (SGs) are free agents. If they are not available, try Adam Hange. Chandler Parsons and Omri Casspi (SFs) are free agents. Why not try them or call Davis Bertans.
In the upcoming wcf, the Spurs will have problems in playing with Allen, Conley and Prince. Prince moves like a PG and he measures 6'10", I think. TD can match with either Randolph or Gasol but will Splitter? He is too slow and doesn't possess the savvy of the two. That leaves Diaw who stands only 6'8" or Bonner who doesn't know how to use his 6'10 frame. Remember that 2 years ago the Grizzlis shutout the Spurs. Could they repeat it? If coach Pop has his way, this encounter could be a perfect reversal. He will find a way to avoid the same iiasco, I hope. GO SPURS GO! .
1 year, 2 months ago on Spurs interview DeShaun Thomas, fail to get his number
What more adjustments/options must coach Pop adopt? Bogut and Landry were foul strapped yet, the Spurs lost! What gives? Accept it only TD, TP and Leonard were playing credibly. The line-up is full of square pegs in a round hole! Massive revamp is needed. Out go Mills, Neal, Blair (all undersized), Manu (too old), Bonner who doesn't know how to use his 6' 10" frame, Splitter who moves like a kinder and maybe retire Diaw. Forget the wcf and prepare for the future. In free agency we can get Gerard Henderson, jr.(SG), Chandler Parsons (SF), JJ Hickson, Blatche or Jefferson (PF/C). Trade for Varejao (PF/C) and move up in the draft and sign Karasev (SG) and Zeller or Plumlee or Withey (PF/C). See if Bertans and Richards are ready. With remaining players and new recruits the Spurs (refurbished) look fresh and higher ceiling. What about it, Mr. R.C. Buford, Mr. Holt, coach Pop?
1 year, 2 months ago on Two adjustments for Spurs heading into Game 5
The Spurs will NOT have sleepless nights without Splitter. Adios amigo. Sayonara! The free agency has better big men available like JJ Hickson, Andray Blatche and Al Jefferson. They can trade for Anderson Varejao of the Cavs who are expected to draft big in the upcoming draft season. In addition the Spurs can let go of Mills and Neal, two undersized guys; Blair, Manu (too old), Bonner who doesn't know how to use his 6'10" frame and maybe retire Diaw. It would be nice to see in their place guys like Gerard Henderson, Jr. (SG), Chandler Parsons (SF); move up the board and sign guys like Karasev and one of Plumlee, Zeller or Withey; see if Bertans (SF) and Richards (PF/C) are ready for the nest level. Without Jax ($10m), Manu (14m), Bonner ($4m), Splitter ($4m), Mills ($1.5m) Blair $1.9m) and Neal ($2m). the Spurs save $34m. In any language this huge. They can afford, easily, to participate in free agency. What about Mr. Buford, Mr. Holt and coach Pop?
