@ChrisCano @spurs123 Are you aware of the Spurs' financial situation??? There is literally no way the Spurs could sign a guy with a contract like Michael Finley had or Boris Diaw has. Not to mention that Finley has been considered to be one of the worst Spurs in the Duncan era aside from one good game against the Mavericks and Diaw has major flaws in his game. These players in the free agency that you imagine will be out there simply don't exist, as much as you would like them to. Not to mention the fact that almost no one is going to use the amnesty clause this season...
1 year, 8 months ago on Joseph, De Colo, & Baynes to have increased opportunities at Summer League
@ChrisCano @spurs123 You STILL haven't listed a single player and your entire argument now is just that you think I am stupid. You realize the players the Spurs have signed from the free agency the past few years are guys like Brent Barry, Roger Mason Jr., and Kurt Thomas, right? There is no "decent" player that will be waived that will want to sign with the Spurs (not to mention there isn't going to be a good player from a team that will be waived at all). You literally have no clue what you're talking about if you actually paid attention to a free agency period before.
@ChrisCano @spurs123 So you're proposing amnestying Bonner... and then magic happens. Right. Because that's how the Spurs will get a good player. You still haven't proposed a single player, and stop pretending like I'm stupid when your strategy involves magic.
@ChrisCano And can you honestly name 5 "decent" free agents left?
@ChrisCano @spurs123 You seem to have the impression that there are still decent players in the FA left that the Spurs can afford. Pay attention to the cap space before you start calling other people stupid.
@ChrisCano @spurs123 So apparently the 15th man on the roster has to be a superstar? Can you read? Nobody has ever said that. The 15th spot isn't going to play in the playoffs anyways so it doesn't matter, and you seem to have this completely unrealistic belief that there is a fantastic player in the free agency right now that the Spurs can afford.
ChrisCano and MOlsen are examples of the Spurs fans that everyone hates; they don't know what they're talking about and they criticize every idea. I'm sorry; if you don't like Richards or Oden, who should the final spot go to? Also, there's no way you can criticize Richards when I'm sure you have seen nothing but a few youtube highlights of him and a few team situations that you know nothing about. No one has said anything close to him being the second coming of Duncan; they just think he's good for that final 15th spot.
Don't want to blame the game on the refs especially since game 1 was officiated really well, but whenever the Heat trapped Parker on the pick and roll they would intentionally kick the ball every time. This happened 4 or 5 times and no kicked ball was called and led to quite a few Heat fastbreaks.
1 year, 9 months ago on Heat ‘go for the kill’ late in third quarter to blow out Spurs, even Finals series
Crazy as this may sound, I think the Spurs are a better matchup against the Warriors without Duncan on the floor. Whenever Duncan is on the floor, the Spurs feel the need to feed him in the post EVERY SINGLE POSSESSION. It's predictable, slow, and is the main reason the Spurs only had 4 assists in the first half. I love Timmy, but keep in mind the Spurs also went on their 18-2 run in game 1 with Duncan in the locker room.
1 year, 10 months ago on Warriors party like it’s 1997, end 16-year curse with Game 2 win in San Antonio
@rtesoro440 You chose an extremely odd time to finally support the Spurs for once. Spurs definitely wouldn't have won this game had Thompson not fouled out because Parker had no answer for his defense. I'm sure the Spurs will fix that by game 2, but you picked an extremely odd time to finally support them.
1 year, 10 months ago on Klay Thompson looking for redemption in Game 2
This is actually kind of amazing that their guys can still talk trash down 3-0 and after receiving their worst home loss in franchise history.
1 year, 11 months ago on World Peace: 'We'll win on Sunday'
Remember when the Spurs collapsed last year after losing one game to the Thunder (which was helped out by Ibaka going crazy and some terrible officiating)? I think Pop intentionally rested many guys the past 15 games so that the Spurs would be ready to lose a game in the playoffs and be able to bounce back from it. There's a reason the Spurs have a better record than the Lakers and they should prove it this series
1 year, 11 months ago on Spurs look to get healthier and improve their play before Game 1
The Spurs have actually played this poorly all season long, it's just that they started actually losing games near the end of the season. The last 10 games weren't even mildly important and they were resting at least two key players per night. I fully expect the Spurs to come back reenergized in the playoffs. I'm also glad Bayless hopped off the bandwagon because he's a complete moron.
1 year, 11 months ago on Bayless abandons "his" Spurs, predicts elimination in first round
This is a really low risk signing that I love because maybe he can finally spark something in a recently lifeless Spur offense. I wish it came earlier, though, because he probably will play less than 5 minutes a game in the playoffs because he was signed so late
1 year, 11 months ago on McGrady to Spurs
This was the first game all season that I didn't watch, and it was by choice. The atrocious effort yesterday that the Spurs put out just made me too disgusted to watch the game today. It's also especially difficult for me to enjoy Spur games when Kawhi isn't playing because he's the only guy that actually improves game by game.
1 year, 12 months ago on Shorthanded Spurs fall to Grizzlies in crunch time
The bench, quite frankly, sucks right now and that is COMPLETELY due to Neal. All of his fastbreak 3's kill so many possessions and his complete lack of ability to dribble/pass makes him utterly useless for the offense. I would much rather see Joseph and de Colo get Neal's minutes and develop into the great players they can become. Oh, not to mention Neal's defense is atrocious.
2 years, 1 month ago on Greenâs 3-point explosion in fourth quarter guides Spurs past Timberwolves
I would love a trade, but without getting Tiago involved. Something like Joseph, Neal, Jackson, and Blair for Jefferson and a pick would be utterly fantastic.

minus and rtesoro are like polar opposites of each other, and they both have such polarizing opinions, that it's impossible to agree with either of them on anything.

2 years, 2 months ago on Report: Spurs to sign center Aron Baynes
@rtesoro440 @spurs123 Please just stop. 3 games is a big difference and also the Spurs had played 4 games in 5 nights, while the Knicks have played 2. I do hope you realize that Anthony, Stoudemire, and Chandler is shorter than the combination of TD, Splitter, and Diaw. Everything else you say is more of the delusional crap that you constantly repeat.
2 years, 2 months ago on Knicks end Spurs' 7-game win streak with fourth quarter run
CJ, Mills, and De Colo all deserve Neal's playing time. They all play way better defense and they all know how to dribble the basketball. PLEASE get rid of Neal.
2 years, 2 months ago on De Colo re-assigned to Toros
@rtesoro440 I mean even if you were right (which you're not since the Spurs have played 35 games currently and the Knicks have played 32), you don't even address the fact that the Spurs have played 4 games in 5 nights (again) due to this bullshit schedule. You realize the Knicks play small ball so saying they are "far taller" is so blatantly false it's hilarious. The Knicks are not even close to competing to the Spurs, they just put out a mediocre effort last night. Also, "more superior" doesn't make sense.
@russman138 Neal first. For the love of God, if this game doesn't show how much better Mills and de Colo are over Neal, I don't know what will. Neal barely knows how to dribble and Mills and de Colo play WAY more inspired defense.
@rtesoro440 Green, Jackson, and De Colo were all very effective yesterday... Just because they don't score points doesn't mean they weren't effective.
2 years, 3 months ago on Even with Duncan’s big night, Spurs fall to Nuggets
Bring up Joseph and trade Neal
2 years, 3 months ago on Video: Cory Joseph scores D-League high 30 points vs. Legends
Tiago has been fantastic, and Neal is terrible. When his shot isn't on, he's a negative to the team. He turns it over a ton and he plays bad defense. He's essentially a smaller Bonner that turns it over way more.
Isn't Kawhi's injury not serious at all? Why has he been out for over a month now when it was originally expected to be 10 days?
2 years, 3 months ago on Stephen Jackson targets Monday for return to the court
I'm sorry but guys like Neal, Mills, and Blair aren't game changers and won't win us games. De Colo needs more minutes and Leonard and Jackson need to come back. Usually if we lose, I don't care but this game really bugs me because we lost and none of our players learned anything because all the key young guys didn't play.
2 years, 3 months ago on Spurs can’t complete comeback against Trail Blazers
De Colo and Splitter have a really nice connection and I love it. I'm really happy with all the playing time and all the solid play the bench has provided recently.

2 years, 3 months ago on Casspi on his way out of Cleveland?
I hope he does really well in Austin so the Spurs can pick him up later in the season. He plays great D and could be a great energy guy off the bench.
2 years, 3 months ago on De Colo heading to Austin
If the Spurs actually get punished for this, it just goes to show how corrupt Stern really is. Teams choose not to play their star players every year to save them for the playoffs. Not to mention the Spurs have played 4 games in 5 nights while the Heat haven't played since Saturday.
2 years, 4 months ago on Stern threatens 'sanctions' against Spurs
@CraigThomas @rtesoro440 This post is disgusting, and the fact that you question a franchise that has tied for the most championships in the last 10 years shows how stupid you are.
2 years, 4 months ago on For Duncan, It's Not Even Close
@rtesoro440 @BlazingDeath About half of the points you had there were not facts, but ridiculous opinions that have absolutely no justification behind them.
2 years, 4 months ago on Kawhi Leonard out 10-14 days with tendinitis
So can we please give de Colo some playing time because of this?
This game was this year's version of the game in Dallas last year where we came back but eventually lost in OT. This was the first entire Spurs' game that I didn't have time to watch the full game for quite awhile, but Kawhi looked terrific in the first and Tiago in the fourth. The two concerning things for me are Ginobili's atrocious play so far, and all of the wide open threes every team is getting against the Spurs.
2 years, 4 months ago on Spurs 'run out of gas' in loss to undefeated Knicks
Even though Green hit the game winning shot, I think that Tiago deserves player of the game. He was fantastic. He had 3 offensive putback layups and 6 offensive boards. He was definitely getting into Howard's head and forced Howard into foul trouble. Easily one of the best games I've seen out of Tiago in his short career.
2 years, 4 months ago on Green nails game-winner in Spurs' thrilling victory over Lakers
@CraigThomas @ryankxlu I mean it's not like the Spurs aren't going to get better with time, too. They have been atrocious in the first few games with turnovers, which should definitely improve as the season progresses. It was a nice win, with a mediocre effort from Ginobili and Neal.
This game doesn't really concern me. The Clippers shot out of their minds, the refs gave them some calls when the Spurs were making their comeback, and the starters were atrocious. It also gave fans a real chance to finally see guys like de Colo, and gave them some playing time they wouldn't usually get.
2 years, 4 months ago on Turnovers plague Spurs in loss to Clippers
So the Spurs have actually won 12 regular season games in a row if you think about it... just saying.
2 years, 4 months ago on Parker's buzzer-beater a pain reliever for Spurs over Thunder
It's game 1 of the regular season. I would much rather see guys like de Colo and Joseph improve over Ginobili potentially make an injury worse.
2 years, 5 months ago on Ginobili out for season opener
This frustrates me solely because I like Brown in almost every way compared to Powell.
2 years, 5 months ago on Spurs waive Brown, Curry
Why is Brown necessarily competing with Curry? They could both make the team. We have Joseph, Mills, de Colo, Curry, and Brown competing for 4 spots, and I can't imagine that we would take 2 guards when we are absolutely stacked there. Brown plays great defense and has superb athletic ability, and Curry, while not known for his defense, has height which is something we don't have.
2 years, 5 months ago on Preseason Rundown: Magic outscore Spurs in Orlando
@dannyholloway No, the point of preseason is to give every guy a chance to show what they've got. The only way to do that is to give them an iso and see what they can do with it.
2 years, 5 months ago on Eddy Curry aiming to impress
@dannyholloway I don't think you understand how preseason works. The point of preseason and garbage time minutes in the regular season is to see how the player can create for himself, and that's what Pop does with players all the time. In this case, it was Curry and Pop told him to post up every play. If Curry were doing this without Pop's permission, he would already be off the team. Before you be an asshole, at least try to think about what you're going to say.
@dannyholloway I have been impressed with Curry all the preseason, and the plays have definitely been designed for him because it's the preseason.
Two things: 1. I don't care about his stats, this game was the best game I've ever seen Kawhi play. He was fantastic, and a lot of his shots didn't go in because of my second point. 2. I'm decently sure Pop told the refs to give the Nuggets all the calls in the 2nd and 3rd quarters. You guys might think I'm being crazy here, but the fact of the matter is, Neal and Jackson each got 3 foul calls in the span of about 2 minutes, and Brown and Curry got called for two fouls when they were about 4 feet away from the player. I think he was trying to test the players and see what would happen when the calls don't go their way.
2 years, 5 months ago on Spurs vs. Nuggets Postgame Player Spotlight: Kawhi Leonard
@JohnAbney As much as I like Jackson, the Spurs most certainly do not get the level of play that we pay him to produce at. Okafor is a very quality big and would be a huge defensive stopper for the Spurs. Also that was just an example of a big we could try to pursue. Also the whole "Jackson didn't try thing in Charlotte" is a blatant lie. They reached the playoffs with him and he carried a very mediocre team.
