Loved that play by Sid giving the stick back to Hornqvist.

Mad respects to Marty Brodeur calling it quits in the NHL and retiring.  Even though I hated when the Pens played him, and when we did have a chance to break the neutral zone trap and had quality scoring opportunities, he would snuff them out with ease.  He had a solid 22 year career and made some absolutely ridiculous saves over that time.  SCORPION SAVE.

cheers.

@twytch1 @shuvel55  It really makes no sense.  If there is no play entering the zone, dump the puck in deep and obliterate their dmen.  Tire those guys out with body blow after body blow.  The Bylsma system incorporates unlimited drop and stretch passes, and if they don't connect, then our guys are moving in the opposite direction when the puck goes the other way.  just stupid

Really wish we would have locked up Niskanen long term rather than Neal.  Neal has yet to show up in these playoffs.  No hustle, drop passes galore to nobody, throws the puck in the center of the ice to nobody, he is a total shift killer.

@NickDobda totally agreed.  The Flyers basically gifted us 2 goals at the end by taking unlimited penalties.  You get the feeling now that when we are up on the Flyers that we will probably cough up the lead.  I hate to say it, but this style of play is similar to the 2009 Capitals.  Run and gun, untimely pinching, stretch passes.  Just dump the puck in and bang bodies, especially when you have a two goal lead!

We need to stop playing all emo against the Flyers.  Calm down.  Sometimes the best play is to just dump the puck in behind their defense, even if it is the first and second lines doing it.  The Flyers are best at taking advantage of our dumb turnovers at their blue line, and they scored off a horrible James Neal turnover who tried to go east west at their blueline.  Just dump the puck in!

I know Matt Cullen sucks, but I feel that he wouldn't put up with our bullshit where we try to get nifty in the neutral zone with constant turnovers.  I like Cullen for his playoff performance, a little less skilled Billy G.

@j-nine @shuvel55 @mahstah I asked Sid to take a picture with me and a rando girl (that i pretended was my girlfriend, she obliged) and he said "I will, I will be right back"  and then he walked away, and I thought he wasn't going to come back, but he just needed to go razz Letang and then he came back and snapped the picture with me and said rando girl

I just want to say that I met the entire Pens team in DC last night watching the superbowl at a bar in Georgetown.  Got my hat signed by more than half the team.  Oh and I met Sidney Crosby, got my pic with him, and had lots of awkward conversations with the players in the bathroom.

Look, Fleury hasn'y been great, but 3 of those goals tonight were not his fault.  2 powerplays and a breakaway goal.  One goal was his fault but our offense needs to give our D and Flower some damn support.  The constant turnovers and horrible stretch passes and cross ice passes are dooming this team.  If anyone is to be blamed, it's the entire offense and Bylsma.

oh and our special teams have been terrible
