Russell Crowe for game day pic!

@rggwilson  Bunch of poppycock. Sorry. You can be a bit down on the team, but be realistic.

MANY people will tell you Crosby is the best player in the league. It's not just Steiggy.

And sorry, but 500+ man games lost does not "happen to every team." In fact, it happened to only one team this year. The Penguins.

The realistic view of the team is sour enough, without going batshit crazy and being UNrealistically negative.

This could all be a good thing in the end. Two possibly good outcomes: 1) the team wakes the fuck up and goes on to play the kind of hockey of which they're capable 2) changes are made in the off-season.

And I'm in favor of sitting Scuderi in the third game. And fourth. And fifth.

Found? Of course. It was shown about 20 times on the Root telecast.

@eshrum6  Which one specifically? I saw a few good ones, but none I thought were great.

$5k. Peh.

Pens should have drafted Colin Campbell if it means you get to do whatever you want.

So, let me get this straight. Brooks Orpik = dirty. Milan Lucic, well, he's just playing the game. That about right?

BTW, funny comment I saw elsewhere: "Suspend him! Clearly targeted the head!"

@pirate21  Bortuzzo over Letang? Yeah, that's brilliant.

Not.

It might not be funny to joke about someone dying. Letang could. Vokoun too. :(

Pens in three!

@eshrum6 I'm not a big fan of easing your way into the playoffs. If you're on the ice, play. Otherwise sit out. Plus, they could have helped shape who they play in the first round - they'd probably rather face COL than DET.

That doesn't look so hot.

And they had their backup goalie in, too.

Sick saucer from Sid, though.

@BrandonLeslie @PenGeno  Hmmm. I don't know. Still getting dizzy and being unable to walk in a straight line? As of a week ago?

Yeesh. Athletes are not always bright about when to come back from injuries. Sid played after being concussed and may have quadrupled (or more) his recovery time.

I hope Letang is okay. What if he gets dizzy during a game, or a crucial moment?

@LoranMannIsTheMann  I don't think it's truly "Country Club Status Quo" to sit the starters in a meaningless game. Let them rest up. How dumb would you feel if Crosby took one in the jaw again and had to miss the playoffs?

And for all you know, something like that happened. :-)

@BleedBlackNGold  Consider Despres' play in the playoffs, though. While Rob Scuderi likely won't elevate his play much (a little perhaps), he likely won't drop off in his playoff performances either. Can't say the same for Despres given his past.

But I'm also not sticking up for #4 per se… this year hasn't been great and we have three MORE years with an OLDER player? :sigh: Maybe he'll do the team a favor and just retire.

Well FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU…

You never know. Maybe it's a good thing. Maybe the third and fourth lines will have to figure out how to score or something.

@pawsbyandmeowkin  I think it might have to do more with the injuries. Players kept it simpler, or even tried a bit harder. Scuderi, Orpik, Letang, and Martin were out for blocks of time (Orpik missed the least, right?), and perhaps a bit of the desperation, simplicity, and discipline are gone.

@mwn3d  He wasn't going to pick it up (not in the next few seconds, perhaps *eventually*). He was actively skating the other direction when Neal pushed it.
