I'm pretty sure NFL 2K5 was the most underrated football game of all time. The weekday game prep was and is light years ahead of anything that EA has ever attempted, and don't get me started on the gameplay.
@Detroit4lyfe I'm not a fan of the glasses though. Makes him look like Steve Urkel.
@JMattHicks I love that one of the guys was ready to still eat it too. "And this fan has been asked to leave the ballpark for wasting a perfectly good slice of pizza."
@SarahFlory I think that's only the case if we don't win the Cup this year. It seems like Lidstrom wants a 5th championship. If he gets it this season, I don't see him coming back just to play in the Winter Classic.
LFJeremy The side-by-side view absolutely kills me. Stuff like this is why NBA on TNT is the best pre-game/post-game TV coverage in sports.
LFJeremy He got ejected because it was his second technical, but your guess is as good as anyone's as to what he did to earn that T. He must have said something after he came down? I have no idea.
LFJeremy I have watched this video at least 20 times already today. It never gets old.
That metro picture is horrifying, entertaining, hilarious, and a thousand other things except for surprising. To clear the air, however, I was too busy running around like a fool because of the Prince Fielder signing.

LFJeremy There are very few holes in this lineup, depending on the day. One player not listed is Ryan Raburn, who puts up massive numbers in August and September every season.
The biggest key to the lineup, in my opinion, is Austin Jackson. If he gets on base as consistently as he did in 2010, this offense is unbeatable.
CFBZ I agree that he would have a tough time arguing that he deserves an NFL roster spot after having his job taken from him this season, but I also think that Bell will be a fairly high pick when he comes out.
Baker's draft stock will depend a lot on the other RBs in the fold. Other than Trent Richardson, I'm not very aware of this year's class of RBs, so I can't offer a very educated guess on where he stacks up among others. If we're looking at a fairly deep class relative to 2013, I would start to question Baker's decision a bit more.
Nice post, but I disagree with the point about Baker. Mark Dantonio has already implied (if not outright said) that Bell is The Guy next season in East Lansing. There is a good chance that Baker's stock would drop even further after backing up Bell.
Another factor to consider is that QB Kirk Cousins graduates, which could allow opponents to stack the box if the new QB isn't able to replace Cousins effectively. I wouldn't be surprised if MSU's RBs struggle to put up similar numbers next season.
While Baker's decision may not make sense at first glance, I think that, all factors considered, it's probably in his best interest to make the jump this year.
Let me get this straight... Kiper thinks that Denard Robinson is a better wide receiver than two of the following: Justin Blackmon, Alshon Jeffrey, and Michael Floyd? I'm a huge Robinson fan, but this is just stupid.
It would be nice if the standings stayed exactly how they are this morning. I don't like the idea of facing a team like Phoenix or Calgary in the first round simply due to the amount of travel involved. I wouldn't be as worried about Colorado because... well, is anyone really worried about Colorado anymore? I'd take the travel over a 6-7 game slugfest with Chicago or St. Louis in the first round, but it'd be nice to keep things somewhat local for once.
LFJeremy The only reason it's a big deal is because of how Flip Saunders responded to it. If he hadn't benched McGee for the entire 4th quarter and the Wizards had completed the comeback, this wouldn't be an issue. Of course, bringing McGee back in doesn't guarantee the win (especially since he wasn't playing well), but Saunders could have kept the lid on about this. It makes me wonder whether Flip knows that he'll be fired soon and just doesn't care enough now to keep the locker room together.
You would think that Drew Sharp's idiocy couldn't possibly surprise me any more, but holy shit. Words cannot describe him any more, simply because it's an insult to the words that you would try to use.
LFJeremy In all seriousness, I think the NBC football crew made a good point in that Flynn's big game might have an effect on the MVP voting this year. Some might question whether Aaron Rodgers is a "system QB." I don't buy it, but I still think Brees is the MVP.
And no, there is nothing better than a Jim Schwartz .gif.
RichardEikstadt I didn't say that V/F should have ignored the incident, but to repeatedly beat that issue into the ground despite the fact that Suh clearly wasn't going to say anything on the matter is bush league, in my opinion.
If I, an admitted armchair QB who hasn't played organized sports since high school (or college IM sports, if you count that) can understand what Suh means when he says that "in house stuff stays in house," so can Valenti and Foster. It's more than just the questions, it's the repeated head-bashing into the wall that they do on a consistent basis. This is no isolated incident for these two.
Thanks for the kind words about the blog! I'm no superstar like Big Al, but I do what I can.
RichardEikstadt Valenti and Foster are horrible. The fact that they weren't willing to ask anything about the upcoming game despite the fact that the Lions are in a playoff race shows that they're solely interested in all the rumor-mongering that comes with stories like these.
I think this situation says more about how ego-centric some of the talking heads in Detroit are than it does about Suh's personality. I'd be willing to bet that Suh has been told repeatedly by his legal team to not talk about the accident, especially if the pending lawsuits are little more than half-assed grasps to take advantage of a wealthy-but-vulnerable individual.
As for the questions about talking to the team, Suh was right to say that everything was handled in-house, whether it really was or not. Hopefully he comes out next week and dominates the Raiders to put all of this behind him.
