@working "Having said all that, someone who has had success experience is more important than someone who hasn't when it comes to making something of yourself. As someone who's had success, all I see on here are a bunch of excuses as to why something isn't the way you wish it to be. Entitlement is a funny vice."

clearly you haven't parsed the points i made about the patriarchy and capitalism.  :) have a nice day.

@exposbabe Hi! I got your original comment in my email (did you delete it?)  I guess it's a big "tl;dr" for "hey this person thinks this behavior is acceptable and it's because in certain circles it's still normal to treat women as less than human."

I realize it's long, but I've been writing overlong/half-edited rant-y stuff on the Internet for a long time and I wasn't expecting this type of response.  I'm always trying to improve my writing.  But it was late and I got excited.  And I still think everything I said is important.

White male sportswriters aren't evil, but the institutions that enable them to spew garbage and turn in poor work in prominent platforms aren't doing a good job.

thanks, and if you want to read people who write better than me about feminism, I mention Laura Mulvey and Judith Butler in the above piece.

@skins2848 @AaronWrotkowski you're missing the point totally.  it's not about individuals and individual bad behavior, it's about systemic oppression.

if you haven't read any of the critique of the "#notallmen" hashtag, you should take a look.  you aren't being hateful and i appreciate that, but again, this is a larger issue.

@MouthGuard art is separate from the individual. for the love of god, something less contrived than a bunch of people going WOOO HOOOO! who don't know who Blur is and who don't understand that the song is a tribute to Bob Nastanovich.

A song is a song. we never, ever said it was funny. We in Pittsburgh take our goal song very seriously.
