The reason you don't have $15k lying around is because this is what you would do with it if you did. SMH #FirstWorldFinance
Jordans have reached the "bursting" point of this bubble. Enjoy it while it lasts...
While here in Europe, I'm going to pick these up as a Happy Birthday to ME! They're 160 Euros (about $208 USD), but there will be no lines (and the Fire Vs are still on the shelf, so I'm guessing these will be released without too much hooplah). Good luck to everyone in their pursuit of the Grapes!
I would just like to mention that no Pros made it to the final four...and it's because that cartoon-ish swoosh ruined them. It looks like like the terrible swoosh they're now putting on some AF1s...and wouldn't you know it, they're the same ones that are on deep discount on FNL. Doesn't Nike do any market studies? Further analysis reveals the following: The only "pros" to defeat a "1" head-to-head were the Pearl Pros and the Retro Blue Pros...and they beat the Phoenix Suns 1 and the Cactus 1. Every other PRO crashed out the moment they faced a "1" competitor.
Nike is finally realizing that there is money to be made in the business casual market for those of us fans who have grown up and moved on to real jobs. :) How about some lunarlon midsole, and hard leather outsole...winner winner, chicken dinner!
Letter to the Editor: It's tough to be in charge of a website where the patrons know more than the providers...but c'mon, really?
Why stop at the discoloration? Let's pre-maturely deflate the air bags, wear the soles down to nothing, and pre-crease the toe box to ensure true authenticity. SMH
Those kicks like they're made out of Play-doh. I dig Play-doh! :)
IF the "VNTG Treatment" means bringing back the exact same design as the OGs, then I'm in (see "Nike Air" on the 88's, for example). But assuming by VNTG JB/Nike intend to prematurely yellow what was originally white, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I don't mind shoes looking used, because that's what they're for...to be used (my apologies to all the resellers out there who refuse to wear their shoes, only to exploit consumers later)! But to "age" a new product (whatever the product) by turning what was originally white into a yellow-ish/pukish color is absurd, and I personally wouldn't pay for it.
The icey sole is the problem here. It's not the red hints, it's not the overall CW...it's the icey sole. You can't just throw a translucent sole on a shoe and assume it's hot...especially when the patent leather is white. That being said...maybe it's the white patent leather...or perhaps the entire shoe just sucks.
These are hot.
I'm a bit surprised that the forefoot zoom unit doesn't cover more surface area...seems like everyone's foot is shaped differently, so if you have long toes than your forefoot might miss the bag almost entirely. Boo.
That yellow inside is terrible...in fact, who really wants a shoe that looks like a construction zone threw up all over it?
"Uh oh, better tell all the pros wearing retros that retros are only for looks, and not for performance." - Said no true sneakerhead, ever.
Did JB design these...or Jordache?! LOL Agree with the previous comments...put this CW on the VI or VII, and you've got a winner! In fact, my guess is this CW works on every single Jordan.
I want to hear some newcomer to the shoe game tell me retros aren't to be played in, while all these pros are sporting retros and playing well enough to get paid on Sundays! "Technological Advancement" in shoes is a marketing ploy...it ain't the shoes, so play hard in retros!
Is that Ginobili in the Lebron 9s! Awesome.
@phil325 Alright, I checked today at the nearest FL to me...in the XI they only have a size 12. The cost is 189 Euros, which basically comes out to be about 240 usd, and then you'd have to pay for shipping. Not sure if you wanted to do that, and cover the cost of my trouble. Let me know. FYI, they also have the foamposite fighter jets in any size...but they cost 225 Euros, so not cheap. And they have the 6s in size 10.5 and 11 for 159 euros.
Well my impression is the inventory is dwindling...but the XI BRED retros are still on display at the 2 footlockers that I go to here in the city. And while I'm not sure how much international shipping might be on shoes, I can't imagine it's worse than 20-40 bucks...full disclosure: I know nothing about importing goods...so it's possible the US slaps additional tax on it. But I'm not against the idea.
Great looking shoes. I wonder if they fit small like the other foamposites. Any ideas?
