What about corey perry from Anaheim? he's a UFA at the end of this year too according to cap geek. only a 5M cap hit instead of 7M like iginla. Donnow if Ducks would give him up though

@Potash Look at it from the other teams perspective... If we fans can tell that Despres is better than Bortuzzo, or at least more promising, surely and experienced GM can tell too. If we're going to get a start forward like Iginla we're going to have to give something up, and a talented D man with a lot of potential might do the trick. Plus, we're deeper on D right now than on offense, so its not going to kill us to lose Despres. Don't get me wrong though, I would love to keep Despres, but you gotta give to get. Also... @Mrmcgibblets has a really good point too

@akus you think so? kunitz/sid/duper has been good all year... granted neal is definitely a first line forward, it seems like he's needed more on second line to balance out our offense... but maybe they'll just put him back with sid
I like seeing Neal on second line with Sutter. Kuntiz/Sid/Neal is a great line; but we need more than 1 line putting up points for us
