I was trying to come up with a witty comment on how I have been implementing some of your suggestions to procrastinate less but then I never got to leaving the comment...gonna have to be "good enough!.

Sticky to a schedule is extremely hard, especially with devices that interrupt constantly, demanding attention, and the more you work the better you are vicious circle since we need to step away rather than knuckle down when I task or problem requires more than we anticipated.

So, today I'll stick to a schedule, be mindful of time, take breaks and guilt be damned when I think it's not good enough or I've done enough!

Thanks for putting together the reasons some of us procrastinate and handy solutions.

@tonyzeoli All set Tony. The update is 1.5.1, should show up in your dashboard/launchpad.

@tonyzeoli Hi Tony, I'll take a look. I think I just need to add a bit of code to make the shortcodes show up. Otherwise is Filtering working with the Boxes as you wanted?

@tonyzeoli Hi Tony, Filtering is updated to filter box sets. The version is 1.5 and should show up in Pagelines --> Store --> Sections --> Your Added Sections. Go down to the bottom of that page and Refresh Store if you don't see update.  Otherwise it is in your Pagelines Launchpad on pagelines.com, you can download it and upload it in Pagelines --> Store --> Sections --> Get New Sections --> Upload.

To use Filtering with Boxes, you only need the Filtering Section on the page template, you don't need the Boxes Section there otherwise you will see the boxes twice.

If you select Show Excerpt it will show all the text in the boxes since that is the way boxes are setup to display. Filtering will pick up the Read More text you put in either set in the individual box post or in the Filtering Options if none is set on the individual box.

Send me an email if you need any help setting it up.

@tonyzeoli Hi Tony, I'm getting there. It is taking time because I needed to separate out my functions better, the code was getting unruly and thus causing errors. I'm working on it today and will keep you posted.

@tonyzeoli Getting there. I got sidetracked with an issue for a client that had to be addressed. I'll be working on it this weekend though I'm out of town.  Little crazy right now.

Anyway, soon, I promise.

@tonyzeoli Having Boxes work with Filtering is a little more work than originally thought. I need to reorganize the code to take in consideration the Boxes meta like box link and more text. It works, just the code is not organized well.

I may not have anything till the end of the week. Sorry for the delay, I just don't want it to be thrown in and have to clean up the code later, I want to do it right the first time.

1 year, 4 months ago on Filtering

Reply

@tonyzeoli Filtering the boxes is a bit more work than I originally thought because Boxes link to other pages/posts, not the original post so I have to add code to pick up the correct link.

Also, the image will always be on top, I don't have Filtering setup to have the image on the side.

I probably won't get all the coding done and tested till Monday. I will let you know when the update is ready for you to install.

@tonyzeoli Box Sets are like categories, it's a taxonomy. Just like if you create your own Custom Post Type you can create a Custom Taxonomy.

Having said that if you already have the Boxes created and assigned to Box Sets then I might be able to get Filtering to work where you can select Boxes as a post type and Box Sets as the taxonomy.

Let me know if you would like me to do that or if you are going to create a Custom Post Type and Custom Taxonomy.

@tttaaa Each individual accordion is a separate post so whatever you can put into that post will show, images, shortcodes, iframes. So, if the content you want to pull in has a shortcode or iframe(embed) code it should work.

As far as I know you can't embed a page from your website unless you can do it with an iframe or shortcode.

Hope that answers your question.

@tonyzeoli Right, Filtering isn't setup to use Boxes at this point. The Boxes custom post type is not public which is all Filtering is picking up.

Let me take a look at the code and see if I can get it to work. Note that the Boxes will not be displayed like they are when using the Boxes Section, it will display using the Filtering Options.

I'll try and look at it tomorrow and let you know if it can be done.

@caiDOTio Yep, make sure the css has #footer .footer-extras -- it needs the #footer to override the plugin css.

Also, it now is picking up your business name, not the copyright with the Google+ Button. Progress, but still not right. It works on my site but that doesn't help you. I may have to approach it differently and use the meta tag in header to pick up the schema info and add it as an option.

One way or another we will get it working. Will try and work on it tonight or tomorrow.

Let me know if that code works and I will let you know when I have an update.

@caiDOTio @ellen Okay, I looked at your website. For some reason the copyright notice is being displayed in the Business NAP area. Are you showing the Copyright Notice in Footer Extras? Or did you manually put in the 2013 C + A Images All Rights Reserved in the Business NAP area?

If you did put it in the Business NAP area, try putting it the Copyright area and uncheck show Business NAP. Now test, does it pick up the title of the post now?

If it doesn't or the copyright info is in the Copyright Area then it would be best to open a support topic in the forum under Store Products or you can email me directly using the Contact Button next to my name in the created by box on this page.

@caiDOTio @Tinsky Sorry not to get back on this issue. I've put a request to have the page/post title identified with schema markup but don't know if it will be implemented.

@kondilas Sorry about that Robert, it was in an email I sent today I think to you. But anyway, it's easy to remove.

Go to Pagelines --> Drag & Drop and select the Content Area then the Product Archive Template. You will see the Breadcrumbs section in Active Sections. Just drag it out to remove it. You can do the same on the Product Template too.

@kondilas Hi Robert, to remove the breadcrumbs follow the instructions in this reply.

As for the other questions those are really WooCommerce questions. I would ask those questions in their Support Forum. You may want to check out WooCommerce Extensions too. Sorry I can't offer more help on the last two questions.

@DenisCiumbargi  I tried to replicate the problem on two different installs and Breadcrumbs are working without any error so it is puzzling why you are getting the error. Always easier to troubleshoot when I can make the error happen too.

Support is done in the Store Products Forum  and if you open a topic there and a link to your site if you have it online I can take a look and start the process of troubleshooting the error.

@SENO_Media Go to Pagelines --> Drag & Drop --> Page Templates and click on Product Archive. Make sure the ProductContent Section is in Active Sections, not Content, like in this screenshot, http://cl.ly/image/1G302n2z1G1X. Then click on Content Area and make sure ProductLoop (and any other sections you want) are in the Active Sections like here, http://cl.ly/image/3s3C1j0K0c34.

You will also want to do this on the Product template too.

If the ProductContent is in the Template Area and ProductLoop in the Content Area and it is still not displaying properly, please post in the Store Products Form.

Thanks.

@kondilas Sounds like it is looking for Pagelines. Just want to make sure you have Pagelines as the active theme or a Pagelines child theme.

I didn't have a check to make sure Pagelines is active so I just added one and pushed an update on the store. If you can update it through the store that would be great. If not, delete it out of your plugin file and then install the new version through the store.

Let me know if that solved the problem.

1 year, 5 months ago on WooCommerce for Pagelines

@GovindjiPatel The Accordions Section works just with Pagelines and Pagelines child themes, not all WordPress themes.

It works like other Pagelines Sections where it it dragged onto into a template so if you use that template for your page then the Accordions will show up on that page.

@DenisCiumbargi @ellen Yes, I will have it so it will be an option to use all Woocommerce styles (buttons and tabs), not just the colors from Woocommerce. Probably in the next couple of days.

The plugin does use the colors  from the WooCommerce Settings now. It's just that the styling of the buttons and tabs uses bootstrap/Pagelines classes, not WooCommerce.

Thanks for the feedback, others may want the option too.

1 year, 6 months ago on WooCommerce for Pagelines

Reply

@DenisCiumbargi Right, at this point the the plugin is using Pagelines Styles for buttons and tabs. You don't want that, correct?  You want the Woocommerce styled buttons.

I should be able to make an option to turn off Pagelines styles and use the defaut Woocommerce.

Also, sorry I didn't respond sooner, I didn't get a notification a comment had been left.

If products still displaying in single column after activating the plugin do this:

1) Go to WooCommerce -> Settings -> General Settings and scroll down and Save Options

2) Go to Pagelines -> Site Options and click on Save Options

Now view page and should be in order. If still have a problem post in the Pagelines Forum or contact me using the contact button.

@marijnacht Accordions creates a custom post type to put accordion content inside of.  It works like Boxes and Banners.  You create Accordions and categorize them into Accordion Sets to display in the section.

@Tinsky I'm going to look into this and see how to fix. The Google+ button picks up the schema markup first then goes on to find the post title.  Even with the Facebook Open graph checked in the Header/Footer settings in Pagelines -> Site Options.

I'll let you know when it has been fixed or how to work around.

Great catch!

@Susan2011 Here is a document about installing Sections and Plugins, http://support.pagelines.me/docs/pagelines-store/store-overview/

When you get into the cPanel if the wp-content/plugins/pagelines-sections folder doesn't exist it means you don't have the Pagelines Sections plugin activated.  Just follow the steps in the document and you'll be all set.

Also, where you tried to install Business Branding like a plugin the files might not be in the folder.  If that's the case, delete the folder and then install through your Pagelines -> Store -> Sections.

And a side note, if you can get FTP access from your client(s) and get a FTP software for your computer, it's easier than working through cPanel.

1 year, 7 months ago on Business Branding

Reply

@Susan2011 Yes, you can do it through cPanel.

In cPanel, use File Manager and go to your wp-content/plugins folder and you should be able to just drag the business-branding folder into the pagelines-sections folder which is also in the plugins folder. Otherwise there should be a move option to move the folder.

Just so you know, the best way to install Pagelines Sections is right through the Pagelines -> Store -> Sections on your website since they need to install in the pagelines-sections folder. You can install any Pagelines Plugins you buy through your Pagelines -> Store -> Plugins.

Good luck :)

1 year, 7 months ago on Business Branding

@Susan2011 I should have looked at your post with the error message.  Business Branding is in the wrong folder on your install.

The best thing to do is to delete that folder.  Then go back into Pagelines -> Store -> Sections and then install Business Branding.
Or, you could move the business-branding folder from plugins to plugins/pagelines-sections -- that's where it ultimately belongs.
Let me know if that works.

@Susan2011 Sounds like Business Branding isn't active in the Header.  Make sure that on the client site in Pagelines -> Drag & Drop -> Header that Business Branding is there and not the regular Branding Section.

If the Business Branding Section is there, please post in the forum under Store Products and tag Business Branding. And, it would help to have the url of the site.

Thanks. Ellen

@jbcooper If you mean the boxes section, no you cannot put  the Accordions Section within the Boxes - use the accordion shortcode (BA Shortcodes and Pagelines Shortcodes plugins both have that shortcode).

If you mean to have multiple groups of accordions on the page, yes, you can clone the section and have multiple sets like on the Demo page, http://pagelines.ellenjanemoore.com/accordions/.

@PSGD  I submitted a bug report. For now, if you create some extra items for your testing, the bug will go away and Accordions will work properly.

1 year, 8 months ago on Accordions

Reply

@PSGD It looks like there is a problem with the jQuery and the Carousel. Take out the carousel and it should work.

The jQuery error seems to be because there aren't enough posts for the carousel.  Once the carousel has enough items the error goes away.  I'm going to do a few test and see if this is a general bug or something that happens only with accordions.

I just wanted to get back to you as soon as possible to let you know what the problems are.  I'll respond here but any other questions now that you have Accordions is to ask them through the Support forum for Store Products.

Thanks.

@PSGD Not a bother.  In your WordPress Install go to Pagelines --> Store --> Sections --> Top Premium and then scroll down to Accordions.  Click on install and it will install the section.

Then in Pagelines --> Drag & Drop bring the section into the template you want to use it in.  There are then instructions on the Demo site on how to use, http://pagelines.ellenjanemoore.com/accordions/.

@LynnettePolanco I did my best to make it responsive but it really depends on how much you put into the header area. If you look at the business branding section on the demo site I had to make an adjustment for iPad screens in Portrait and also for the iPhone.  http://pagelines.ellenjanemoore.com/business-branding/.

I need to write up some more helpful tips for working with responsive media queries. If you have issues with the responsiveness, email me using the Contact link above and I will help...will get me writing those helpful tips!

@illinimatt81 My experience has been problems copying the direct html code into the header area -- tried with Mailchimp and Constant Contact.  You could try the Aweber code but my feeling is that it won't pick up the submit button.

However a shortcode works.  For example, if you use the Newsletter Sign-up plugin in the WordPress.org repo, http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/newsletter-sign-up/, set it up for your Aweber account and put the short code [newsletter-sign-up-form] in the header it works.

Also, if you are using Gravity Forms with a newsletter add-on you can put the gravity form shortcode into the header.

You will need to do some css styling on your own to get the elements positioned but it works.
