The fact is of course the answer is yes, both in terms of circumstance or where ever you are from, and yet despiote this the UK government ( and others I am sure) continue to opeate a "white list" of countries from which if you cclaim asylum, you are never going to be allowed to remain. It fluctuates and changes and is very often influenced by foreign policy which as we all know, to our respective costs, is no vehicle by which to measure human rights abuses or to monitor failed states or their exploitation of groups. It amuses me in a rather appalling way to hear of clients of ours being returned to countries which the UKBA deems safe yet if you check out the Foreign and Commonwealth Office website often UK citizens are advised to avoid as not safe!
