Top 3 out of the last 6 seasons for Mizzou
12-2 10-3 10-4
Bottom 3 out of the last 6 seasons for Texas
5-7 8-5 9-4
And in Basketbal Mizzou has been significantly better than Texas for a while now.
In baseball Mizzou won the series with Texas last year and won the Big 12 title.
So I’m not sure what sport that would be true in. Not Softball, Mizzou has been above Texas there for a few years. Women’s soccer has been pretty even. Maybe tennis? Track and field? And this is considering UT’s budget is twice the size of Mizzou’s.

I think if the B1G manages to get UNC and Duke, then the SEC should give up on the state of North Carolina. The B1G would own that state. It would do little good to get school #3 in there and try to scrounge out a partial market share. The SEC should rethink strategy at that point. With no UNC, does it even make sense to expand at all? If so, I'd have to think that the wish list would look roughly like this (assuming UNC, Duke, GT, and UVA are off the table):
3. Florida State
4. Virginia Tech
9. West Virginia
10. NC State
11. Oklahoma State
12. Texas Tech
14. Iowa State
15. Kansas State
that's about it.
Then you decide how big is the SEC going to expand to. Stop at 16? try to match the B1G at 18 or 20? Then you work on that list and try to get the best ones you can on there to fill those spots.
But right now the focus for the SEC has to be on trying to get UNC plus either Duke, Virginia, or Virginia Tech. If they pull that off I think they settle in on 16 permanently.
