I will on occasion make the attempt to connect with someone I don't know. I actually did it yesterday, I found someone through a blog comment who I thought to be interesting and asked to connect. The idea to craft your own message is a no brainer! If someone doesn't know you, you have to let them know why it's a good idea to connect. LinkedIn 101.

I may not get the connection, but I know I took the time and effort to separate myself  from the sellers and the spammers. Erika, I'll be sure to post a few comments here and get to know you before I even THINK of sending a request. :)  Great post.

The smell of meatballs frying in a pan when I cook them does that to me. If I close my eyes, I’m standing in my Gram’s kitchen (in my “feetie” pajamas, no less) on a Saturday morning, waiting for my sample from her pan. There was nothing better. Thanks for inspiring this memory today.

We're all guilty of hitting the publish button when we know what we've written isn't up to par. I may not call it "bad writing" (esp. in your case), but when I don't like something I've published, it's usually because I was too hasty, and didn't edit well enough. I'm doing better with that. Cutting out as many unnecessary words as I can...

Would "Writer's Hesitance" be the same as writer's block? Because it blocks me from publishing. The "oh shit, I don't know if that's good enough to go out there".... Just curious.

Blogging is interesting to me because of the stories. I love reading about the struggles and the victories of others. Your story is compelling. The stories of my friends and family are worth the time and effort of writing them down. I find them compelling. As a fledgling “old guy”, I can run into a time crunch with regards to working out as well. That’s why you can find me doing push ups or cracking the heavy bag at 11PM, after the wife and kids have been tucked in. No time is an excuse I can no longer use. At 49, exercise has to be a priority for me. E-book? I think you have enough material for 10,000 ebooks. You don’t have to write, just reorganize… ;)

@bdorman264 Totally agree. My favorite father son movie.

Field of Dreams is one of my all time faves, I need to watch it again. I cry every time. Like Bill said, arguably the best father-son movie ever. And I too still like to try to go a hundred miles an hour physically, especially with basketball, but my knee won’t let me. But I’m always working to get in better shape. I need to give myself a best shot to live long for my kids, as well. My favorite workout is still beating the heavy bag. Sweaty and fun!

Thanks for all your support on my blog. I always appreciate you stopping by!

I write to pass along the wisdom given me by past generations. It is sorely lacking in today's world.

I write for my kids. So they can catch a glimpse into Dad's warped way of thinking ;)

I write so I don't forget. The memory is a terrible thing to waste.

I write for the possibility that I won't be forgotten. We are here for so brief a period. I'd like to stay for awhile even after I'm gone....

Thanks Jack!

I've written a few posts that have triggered the tear ducts a bit. I've got another coming up. I'm with you. If a blog doesn't display some feeling within the words, it's pretty much useless. If I see another post about maximizing your Twitter use, social media tips, or 18 ways to be a better blogger, I may just stick a fork in my eye.

Thanks for the music as well. I broke out the Bruce CD over this past weekend, and it's still awesome ten years later....

Hi Michelle, I like to blog about "Old School" principles and habits, which many of these 12 manners would fall under. In our modern society, manners seem to be a thing of the past. Nice job with the reminders here!

Hi Gini---

Many is the time where I say, "I've got nothing". I feel for you. Awesome comment string though. Looks like lots of people are quite interested in nothing.
