Telfair was phased out. Brown is phasing out. Dudley next? The Gortat injury has expedited the tank. I predict next Lindsey Hunter reduces Dragic's minutes in the final 10 games in the name of "developing" Marshall.
@hawki Dudley was fine off the bench, in a 25-30 minute vacuum. I still feel he's a quality back-up. Having said that though, this isn't the 2010 Suns anymore. The front office has to consider everything, when this roster is in such disarray. I suspect Dudley will be packaged along with Markieff Morris and Scola or Gortat this summer to clear cap room. The Suns should have no trouble getting that 3rd pick.
Maybe Dragic can set-up a pick and roll with Hamed Ha--- nah just forget it.
Really disappointing game from the Suns. Toronto just seems to have way more athletes, that's what it boils down to.
I agree about Markieff Morris' weak post game. I'm sick of him jacking up shots from 20 feet. I really think it's time to consider packaging him in a deal with Gortat this summer to loosen some cap space.
The Suns are in a real predicament. You think they have all this cap room. But realistically, it's not as much as it should be. Beasley at $6 million is already a waste. Frye is still being paid at $6 million.
The only hope you can have is that Babby is able to move Gortat, and Scola this summer and sign a scorer such as Monta Ellis. Then hopefully get lucky and draft a solid 4/5 in the draft. Even these moves don't guarantee a playoff berth. But I'd be intrigued to see an Ellis, Dragic backcourt.
Hopefully with Gortat out now, we can officially tank hard now. Maybe Dragic should pull a Gilbert Arenas, and fake an injury to get Marshall more playing time.
For one night, we got to see a fun game. I enjoyed it. Yes, it was the same script right until the 3 minute mark. But Hunter finally went with a big front line (Gortat, O'Neal) and a tall athletic back court (Morris, Johnson) O'Neal was vintage. The lowpost offense is something we sorely need as a franchise, and for tonight it was there. Gortat was playing great defense on Duncan. PJ Tucker did a great job forcing a late turnover. Marcus Morris looks like he could be a competent scorer given time. I know it's one game, and the Spurs looked flat, but this was the game of the year. I'm glad I was home to see it tonight. I agree with O'Neal getting a two year extension. He does seem to be enjoying his time here as a team captain.
@4everis2long @DBreezy I was thinking Groundhog Day.
@DBreezy Lmao
@SkyBill40 It's a facade so the Suns can tank.
Why couldn't they just lose? Yeesh.
@the real shazam Agreed. Last time we were this bad record wise was 03-04. But that team had tons of cap space, and young talent. This Suns team will have to buy a star or two and hope to get lucky in the draft. It's bare minimum another 2-3 seasons away.
The Spurs just moved the ball well against a Suns' defense more hideous than Ginobili's bald spot. In all seriousness though... I think this could easily be the worst Suns' roster in history. Aside from Dragic, and Gortat occasionally what do we have? I really hope the front office stumbles into dumb luck. Dumb being the operative word.
@hawki No doubt. Planet Orange has become inhospitable these days. Unless the front office can ink two big name free agents this summer (ex. Millsap, Ellis) we better get used to the lottery for a few more years. The only hope is that the losing gets too much for Robert Sarver to handle, and ticket sales plummet even further, so he sells the team.
Jack Bauer was running around US Airways Center looking for Hadaddi.
@john manhole You need a bong rip dawg. Tweet Beas and K-Marsh for the hook-up.
@ojai1980 Gortat needs to be benched IMO. I'd start O'Neal at C, and let Hadaddi get some minutes at C. Promote Gortat to VP of Kielbasas.
"The 7'2 C does not appear to have a future with the Suns." Excellent work Babby. Do us a favor and trade yourself for a bag of shit.
The Suns just traded for Jake Tsakalidis 2.0.
@4everis2long Marshall is taking bong rips with Beasley after games.
@Kevin Zimmerman Lon Babby refusing to report to Chompie's even though he traded himself there. Babby was seen hitchhiking on Loop 101, after failing to reach Robert Sarver or Lance Blanks by phone. A restructured deal could include sending Lon Babby out of town, and an undisclosed amount of day old bagels back to the Suns.
BREAKING NEWS: Lon Babby to trade himself to Chompie's in Scottsdale.
