So far I give this off-season a solid C+. The moves have been just a bit above average, but to actually win the cup we need to look more like a western conference team. And actually if Nash remains invisible in the scoring department, then this team will be in a very rough sport come February. We will see how it all comes together.

@Bring back Langdon @Say my Name No one is bitching about sidney or ovie? You should check our their fan's blogs after this season! And Sidney did all that he could do for that team. Hell half the administration of the Pens got canned after this year's early exit. The Caps, well the Caps are doing their own shakeup. Nash needs to step up in big games, it's as simple as that. I am hoping Nash can turn it around and just get the offense going.

@Wallace1 @IhateGaborik @JustinRP37 Nash isn't going this off-season but another year like this one and he is gone. He was brought in here to be our elite goal scorer (which I didn't like), but so far he has not lived up to any of the hype. He scores goals, yes, but scores far more infrequently when we are playing a good team. Same trend happened in Cbus. But I did like his defensive plays this post-season.
I have not posted much since the Final, but I have been watching the moves made. I must admit that right now, I do not feel like we have as many upgrades as we would like to think. I know I am always skeptical, but Dan Boyle yes is good and adds more offense, but he is old and post-prime. At that age injuries can play a serious role. It just seems that Sather loves to go after post-prime older players. Once again we have lost, what I do view, as good pieces of our team. So now we have the New York Blue Jackets, New York Lightning, and New York Rangers. I still think in terms of sheer competitiveness the Blue Jackets are a team on the rise as are the Lightning. We need to bring in more than what we have right now. After this post-season I am terrified that we pretty much dismantled one of our better lines and still have a first line that really did not play well in the post season. If Nash cannot get his game back next year, then we will have real issues.
Starting the season out on a very busy note! I like it!

@AG_Blue Hopefully just a web issue with the NHL IT department. If that remains, then it is awful. Everyone of these guys played their hearts out this season and post season.
Well Kevin, get some rest. You deserve it. I came to this blog I think two and a half years ago from Rangers Report, and while I still check in on that blog, I love this blog. You do an incredible job and somehow we should all donate either a liquor store gift card or a Starbucks gift card, or both. For me, today feels like April 14th, 1997, the day after the last Whalers game. Being at that game the day before was emotional and a day I will never forget, but the sadness set in the next day. When at 11 years old, I realized that 3 of my neighbors and role models would soon depart for Carolina, and the city of Hartford would never be the same. Today feels just eerily similar to that day for me.
But while today we are all a little sad and depressed, we can look forward to doing it all over again in just a few short months. I do think the majority of this team will be back and I hope (actually I pray) that Sather knows what he needs to do this off-season and gets it done. The part for me that stung the most was (from the Rangers Report): "And the guy they chose to dump to reload the depth they traded for Nash, well, he ended up with a playoff-leading 14, including the one that forced OT, and he got to kiss the Cup." But I know next season will be just as exciting as this one. Wait, no I don't, in fact part of why today hurts so much is who knows when we will have another memorable season like this one, but I can hope that next year's will be just as, if not more, exciting than this one.
As for the Kings, we could not have lost to a better, never die, team in the NHL. I am proud of what my former classmate Jon Quick has done in his short career with the Kings. He is a class act, but he will realize soon that the Rangers will be back!
So let's all go out and have a great summer! To the casual readers of the blog enjoy it and get involved as it is a great place. And to everyone else, check in throughout the summer because just because the weather is getting warmer does't mean we can't discuss some hockey!

@Emadk94 @JustinRP37 Thanks, sometimes I get too carried away, but all in good fun!

Well ya'll the time has come to say goodnight one final time during the memorable 2013-2014 run. It had major ups and major downs, but this was one hell of a fun season. I hope you all will be back and we can get this blog rocking full time in mid-September. I will be around checking in on the trades and signings over the summer! I love this sport! You are all great, especially when I get ranting, but this is a great team, city, and fan base. Next year we will be ready and we have the experience. The Rangers can and will be back!
@GetTheKingACup You'll be back
What a season, what a series. I loved most of it. This blog is an amazing place and if not for it I would probably be divorced haha. I can say we need a legit scoring threat. We need to dump Nash and get some fast scorers.
Let's go Rangers keep up the pressure!!!
Well on the east coast Friday the 13th is over!
@Poops McDonqvist @JustinRP37 To be fair I did not see the tip when it happened.
Well we aren't moving....
Shortest intermission ever.... LGR!!!!!
@KevinTheNYRBlog We are all dying here!!! Let's go Rangers!!!
@Emadk94 @DanielDHizzyHizgilov What is you BAC level man? You are slurring your internet words.
Kreider has to score there. We have to end it quickly in the next OT.
Anyone else vomit yet?
Thank God for Depends....
Bring it back to NYC!!! PLEASE!!!!!!!
I cannot believe how terrible Girardi has become!!! What the hell happened to him?
Richards is dead to me!!!! DEAD TO ME!!!
These long passes are killing us
Here we go!!! Bye until the end of the OT!
Just saw this posted on Twitter, Shot attempts (shots, blocks, misses are 65-37 in favor of LAK tonight. LAK has missed net more times (21) than NYR has shots (15).
Time to get one in OT and end it!!! Send it back to NYC!
@StAlphonso The refs should all be shot in the leg, since that is what they did to so many teams this post season.
@Dante8496 This post season has been especially bad.
Bottom line the Rangers HAVE to get shots early in the period and HAVE to come out strong. I have confidence that Hank is in their right now ripping their balls off or at least threatening too. Let's get it back to NYC guys!
This is terrifying! If anyone thinks we played a great third period then I can refer you to a medical specialist. Rangers need to get shots. Right now the Kings are DOMINATING. They have tons of shots and just look stronger.
@Emadk94 Yes on the Blue Jackets
Doc can do math! Guess that is why he is Doc!
Can they take caffeine pills?! We got this! Let's go NYR. Bring it to NYC!!!
@IhateGaborik It is coming any second if we do not step it up. Even our defense is looking like shit too now.
How does our best period become our worst in one series?!
Girardi is having one shitty series.
We are totally gassed and we have no $7.8 million star to skate hard and get one.
STOP with the fucking line changes every time we get the puck!!! This is a fucking joke AV! Im sorry but if our players cannot be on the ice for 5 seconds then don't put them out!
God damnit. This team needs conditioning.
@Josh-CK It is crazy! We get the lead and then just STOP. Literally we STOP!
That was not a penalty
Rangers are really unraveling right now...
A good Ranger goal would help right now
They have to get the puck out and start getting some offense. We are not pulling another game 4. GET THE PUCK OUT!!!
@Josh-CK That was all on him and then the almost failed clear.
That was all caused by Nash... FML
Next commercial break = more dark n' stormy!
Wow that was scary...
