@snytz You have it exactly correct, unfortunately, we live in a new era where too many people think that some pompous egotistical politician knows more about how lives should be conducted than the collective judgement of free people.
@CodyFlecker @Dghs48 And thieves and burglars rob people, this is as old as mankind.....nothing new here..........using the same logic continued use makes it right.
@CodyFlecker @Edward53 @Dghs48 That doesn't mean that we all fall in line and blindly follow the mistake over a cliff.
@GrumpyOldMan @JaclynBarnes @Edward53 @CodyFlecker @marylou5 The proper reference for appeasement is England's Chamberlain and his "giving" Poland to Hitler in return for "peace".
@CodyFlecker @popham If you are going to present a position on firearms, at least talk about something you know and understand...... AUTOMATIC firearms have been outlawed since 1934, this casual tossing around of terms does nothing to clarify issues.
@gnafuasusual @ robertb Both of the Obama's had to relinquish their law licenses, the reasons are among all the unknowns about this pair. Everyone knew literally everything about other Presidents except for the color of their underwear, and about the Obamas we know nothing.
@CodyFlecker @bcluks Can you explain this brilliant piece of deductive logic.........
@Dghs48 Unfortunately, rather than hiding their heads they are holding out their hands, they sell their votes very cheaply.
@vcmom Come on don't complain, this is the natural sequence of events, it began with Affirmative Action which carried him all the way to the White House and a Nobel Peace Prize in the absence of accomplishments. Why shouldn't his children reap the benefits of his "accomplishment"s.
This entire scenario fits the Obama philosophy, use any means to accomplish objectives; if necessary lie, if necessary pander, if necessary utilize any crisis, if necessary the end always justifies the means. His objective is to neutralize the 2nd amendment by surrounding it with a forest of laws that slice away miniscule segment at a time, by the time his lemmings wake up, if ever, it will be too late and private firearms will no longer exist.........no one will be safe and the government will create more dependency and thus more slaves. Don't think this can happen? Go back and study what FDR did to the Japanese citizens during WWII, Gulags, readers, Gulags were created and populated by US citizens just because they were Japanese. Furthermore, this pogrom was extended South America. Think this is right-wing B.S. like liberal B.S., well here's a citation to check out.......http://encyclopedia.densho.org/Japanese%20Latin%20Americans/
@Rose Palmer I tend to agree but would caution that even then we have absolutely no knowledge of his performance in these academic institutions. And to CodyFlecker, if you call 54% of the vote fair and square when much of this voting base was composed of racist blacks voting color and "takers" voting for the perceived gravy train.
Just remember people, fully 2/3 of the teachers graduate from the BOTTOM 1/3 of their college graduating classes, this applies to administrators, principals, and probably school boards. They are "educating" our children into that utopian world that never existed where everyone is goody-two-shoes and evil only lurks in dark places...............
@tomno I would suggest that you study the detail rather than the global theory. About 18% of retirement funds reside in 401ks, about $3.5 trillion, therefore they are not the bulk of the funds. While bankers can be greedy, I doubt a conspiracy theory applies here. Greed doesn't allow too much in the way of conspiracy because individuals with egos will always try to outperform in the competition for the richest man on the mountain. If anything what we are witnessing is the destruction of the individual and the institution of the homogenized citizen.
WWII created a unique situation in world history in that one nation (US) held most of the instruments of production while the remainder of the world recovered. During this "golden" period the US prospered and a unique social system evolved with a massive middle class. As the world caught up to the US and our manufacturing base aged, our position in the pecking order slide backwards and the middle class dissipated. Our government, not wanting this to happen, began a systematic program of propping up a dissipating middle class with programs like the Barney Franks housing scenario which the banking community jumped on as a way to make their fortunes.
What we are witnessing is a degeneration of the WWII golden years into what may be a more normal social organization ( whatever that is). Of course everyone wants the brass ring, but it can't be there for everyone and so politicians will use this unrest to accomplish political goals,(ie Obama) by bribery ( using other people's money, tax the rich), chicanery ( the 1% who are wealthy) and lies ( open and transparent government).
The answer, damned if I know it, except I'm not a fan of conspiracies as much as I'm a fan of opportunists who will use crises to their advantage ( Rahm Emanuel).
@pammypooh @Kid Richie This is what Jim Jones preached to his "followers" and they drank the KoolAid, is that your plan also?
@CodyFlecker So now you will vote for the likes of Obama and his cohort? Sounds like you have given up and intend to retreat to the wilderness.
As long as he makes certain all the minority groups are given a piece of the earner's pie, they will continue voting for the Democrats. Free cell phones, unemployment payments forever, food stamps acceptable for lottery tickets and cigarettes, no means testing for welfare, above all amnesty for illegals, marriage for homos, gather all the fringe groups under the liberal umbrella, all these plus a few bleeding-heart celebrities and they'll be in office forever.
@Evermyrtle I sat through enough fire and brimstone sermons to last a lifetime, your lake of fire can be extinguished with a dose of reality. Mythology is replete with all these absurd suggestions to frighten the timid back into the herd.
@Evermyrtle Well, if you repeat it to yourself often enough it becomes believable to you, on the other the hand you have never seen direct proof of god's existence other than what you create in your imagination. Enough said on this subject, like Jim Jones' tribe, you drink the KoolAid, that's your choice.
@Evermyrtle Don't worry about me, I won't be wasting my time chasing fairy tales and myths. The only difference between obsession with religion and jungle religions is that the jungle religions couldn't make up their minds about which myth to follow so they chose all them. There is no word of god, there are only human's words, no one ever heard a god speak (even though they claim differently). That is not to say that some of these human words are not realistic and necessary, they just didn't come from some far away local inhabited y super powers.
Oh, come on these are the words of humans who have to justify their existence, saying these myths won't help you when your six feet under. These myths are an outstanding example of what Hitler's propaganda minister Goebbels said years ago.......tell a lie, repeat often and loudly and it will become truth. Dressing up religious "leaders" in fancy clothing doesn't make it any more real. Religion has been the cause of more deaths(809,000,000) than wars fought for other reasons. It would appear that religious based wars are a form of human population control.
