@internet baseball fan potato friend I would take Shields for three years $45 million

I like how Cubs had to pay about $15-20 Million more than they probably had to thanks to the Dodgers saying "We want in on this guy"

@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Ker$haw$Dodger$ being able to strike out over 14 per 9 and having a 46% GB and low BB% seems elite to me...plus he's left handed

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Andrew Miller wants 4 years from Dodgers, giving reason to worry

I know that giving four years to any relief is probably the biggest risk in baseball today....but to me giving a fourth year to Miller might be worth the risk if he can have two elite years....After two years, there will be no League, Wilson, Haren to drag down the bullpen

@MajorPuigBaseball @Ker$haw$Dodger$ @TellMyWifeISaidHello @Purple Drank so the question becomes, is it worth overpaying for a 1WAR to 1.5WAR or risking using subWAR players on a daily basis?

2 weeks, 3 days ago on Andrew Miller wants 4 years from Dodgers, giving reason to worry

Reply

@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Ker$haw$Dodger$ @Purple Drank No, but if Miller can perform to say a 1.0 to 1.5 WAR that would in my mind be worth about $15 million per year

@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Ker$haw$Dodger$ @Purple Drank If you mention those players, they were still pretty effective compared to other pitchers on list

@TellMyWifeISaidHello @Ker$haw$Dodger$ @Purple Drank which of those pitchers is a hard throwing lefty or was for that matter?

Reply

@Purple Drank @Ker$haw$Dodger$ based on the charts in this article... $5 million is worth 0.4 WAR ... so if he is a 4.0 WAR player after two years..he'd pretty much be worth the contract

If Kenley Jansen is about to earn about $7 to $8 million in arbitration alone, why is it so concerning that Andrew Miller earn $10-12million?   only ten players in MLB had a 2.0 WAR or higher  Both in top 10

So after pausing for concern, should I still be giddy about the possibility of Dodgers signing Andrew Miller?

High leverage pitching during 2013 full season was pretty good for Nicasio as well

In his lone full season, Nicasio had 31 starts yet only pitched 157 innings... was this due to the Rockies 5 inning limit experiment?

Just read this article....Good read @DBrim

In my biased opinion, you could argue that Kershaw's defense behind him wasn't all that great outside of AGon and Uribe...Think about how much betters his numbers would play say if he was playing with a defense like KC

@the great dick tater @Ker$haw$Dodger$ right but if a team comes to you and gives you players that can produce elsewhere for lower than the current cost, I think that's where the FO would make the changes

@the great dick tater the problem is you're expecting these players to be healthy at the end of the season again next year and for years to come

@SabrDodgers @Ker$haw$Dodger$ @Mike Petriello I just see that this year you won't be able to say "look at how our guy pitched out of the bullpen the last three weeks in the season, he deserves a three year $21 million dollar contract"

@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex @Ker$haw$Dodger$ ok so you have two years to platoon or find comparable replacements for Kemp's production and after that you'll have more flexibility in the money you spend elsewhere

1 month, 1 week ago on Of Course The Dodgers Are Trying To Trade An Outfielder

Reply

@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex @Ker$haw$Dodger$ True..I just think the production you can get Puig, Pederson and others, you can get over what ever Kemp will do in the future and you will have better production in other areas (bullpen or infield)

@HunterStricklandsOedipalComplex @Ker$haw$Dodger$ I think it's a fair deal...Without Kemp stealing 20 a year, he won't be worth his contract

Would a trade for Yasiel Puig really need a massive return for the Dodgers?

My thing is if you still have a rather productive outfield whatever you receive can either help infield, pitching or catching.
