@autrader1 I think the season is too long already.  But removing divisions would require more time to travel and more east/west coast trips.  Which would lead to finals being played in mid to late July.  If you could tell me it leads to less games then maybe it may have some merit

@gymbear I meant Tony and Kawhi are the two members.  Joseph is not in the mix, but the third member still needs to be found either in college or overseas.  Green has shown flashes (especially in the Finals) but doesn't have that consistent presence.

The Joseph paragraph is saying he is battling Nando and Patty (who has been stepping up in the pre-season).  I see the battle being between Nando and CuJo but Patty could be a dark horse if he improves shooting.

The bench needs to earn Pops trust because we can't have the current Big 3 carrying the full load and constantly bringing back the team during the playoffs and be asked to take them over the top as well.

@rtesoro440 I was trying to say how the Heat, like the spurs with Robinson and Duncan, needed time to figure out how to play with each other and build that chemistry of playing and trusting each other.

Even for the Spurs, the Twin Towers didn't click right away.  They needed  time to figure out each others strengths and how to incorporate that with the other guys games. It patience in allowing them to get comfortable in their new roles and with their teammates as well.

Now I doubt that the Heat will enjoy the Spurs have enjoyed but the similarities are there.

@Spursfan66 I think they are hungry, but the hunger is more for the personal accolades and the flashy finishes that get you on Sportscenter rather than working on their game and working hard on defensive end

@FrankLagnayoWabe I would prefer to keep Green as well but bonner for asik wouldn't work as far as cap number goes.  Plus to get an asset like Asik, Spurs would need to give up something that Rockets would want (ie a shooter to pair with howard and harden).

Plus when I wrote the article, Gary Neal hadn't signed with the Bucks yet.  So that this trade would have made keeping Neal a must.

@russman38 Getting the position is the easy part, just ask the disciples of the Bill Belichick coaching tree, applying the system and getting similar results is the hard part.

Wishing the best to all of them.

@Spursfan66 I was referencing the quality of medical treatment overall.  Athletes are coming back better now versus athletes in the past.

@Rambler I believe around the league Green has more value than Neal does.  I was thinking of him or Nando with Bonner at first but then looked at value side of the equation and realized that it would have to be green.

@UsernameAlvin Never said Green was expendable, but in order to get something of value, Spurs would have to give something up of value as well.

Defensively it is a push between Asik & Tiagoo, but Asik would be a stronger presence on the block than Splitter, that is how Pacers were able to punish the Heat and we didn't have as much success as they did. Feel that could have pushed us over the top in game 6.

I agree, Kawhi is the closest to entering but he is still a year or two away.  The buzz was bout Green & Neal as possibilities.

@russman138 True, but can you tell me that he has the same chance of winning a ring with Houston as he did with OKC?  His departure was more from OKC not wanting to pay the money.

@kavika6 True but realize, the winning conference doesn't win or lose the home court by winning or losing the All-Star game.  You would have to win ALL 3 competitions to get it.  So It would happen like twice out of every 10 years.  But if a conference has won the 2 main skills competitions, then both sides should pick up the intensity to secure the home court.  Also the game will be different for the top teams, because they all have it in their best interest to work together to get the W.

@ryankxlu that's why you have one conference win the game, 3pt shootout & the slam dunk contest. if you don't sweep all three then you don't get home court. So in actuality you it would not happen on a frequent basis. But you get the best players participating

@kmgospurs true but manu was more flashy than Sean. That's what all star game is about flash. I view them in the same light. Great team players, deadly shooters and worked hard on both ends.
