@DeaconG There is a positive to your fear of Joe being a heartbeat away. Unlike Obozo crazy Joe would not b e able to get any of his agenda rammed down our throats.
In order for a free people to protect themselves from tyranny which is the primary reason the 2nd amendment was written they need to be on "even" ground with the oppressive regime they are fighting. Hey Joe if a shot gun is so damned effective why then do our police departments and homeland defense not rely on them for the primary weapon above the sidearm any longer? The reason is that the bad guys today have long arms so they need to match fire with fire. The same reason that I as part of the militia need at least an AR 15 to be effective if the need was to arise.
@the Truth Seeker As for the stats on suicide if someone is to the point that they value their own life so little do you think that the method really matters? If not a gun then a rope, car exhaust etc. For some unfortunately firearms just are an easier method to the same end. I like millions of other responsible firearms owners have never had a unintentional discharge in the thousands of rounds fired. I have though accidentally cut myself with a knife a few times as have most people I know. If you truely want to protect us from ourselves maybe we should ban all cutting tools as well.
