Short term, LAKE is an ebola play, they make the Hazmat protection suits. There was a possible confirmed case of ebola in NY today, so the stock spiked. It may continue up for a few days, but it's a short term trade only....You can make some good money if the demand for the suits increases, as it may do.

Thanks! Roche just decided to leverage their cancer portfolio. The ebola vaccine they have is actually minutia compared to their cancer drugs in the pipeline.....I wouldn't sell, they could get acquired.

Good to see DD up and running again.....I think....

The checks should continue to keep on coming. Check today's tape.

That would be great....get it over with quickly.
Disgruntled Goat.......your worst fear came true, mine as well. I guess we can say what we want about the Giants, but they're still in the WS 3 out of 5 years, and we're not.....But I still can't stand them.

Good informative post Brim.
I'm back on line here at Dodgers' Digest.
1 week ago on Andrew Friedman Is Going To Do Something That Infuriates You
You think you're funny, but you're not. Over 25 of my family members were killed in concentration camps. You can take your racist cat gif you made below, and shove it.
I appreciate your response.
I don't have to explain why I made this request, you know, or should know.
I'm asking the board to please refrain from bringing up hitler, in any context, now, and in the future. I don't think it's appropriate, and certainly not as a comparison to baseball or players. I certainly hope everyone can respect my thoughts here....Thank you.
The market recovered over 200 points so far today....An ebola vaccine and a change in overall sentiment will fix things, at least in the near term. I hope your guy did you well.
@Lobo @mostly exciting potato
Can't, won't, and won't be resigned either.
@Disgruntled Goat @mostly exciting potato
You're correct, it may make the whole run scoring thing more difficult for opposing teams.
Mike, if you're here, you're correct. I like this morning's blog post. As I said yesterday, it makes sense to be realistic about our expectations for Friedman's 1st season, and to embrace the paradigm shift. This will allow Friedman and others to continue building the farm system, and provide the blend of young players and veterans that will make this team a consistent contender for many years to come.
I think the Dodgers Digest team did a great job summarizing what Andrew Friedman may mean to this franchise. Rather than have unrealistic expectations for specific results during his first season, we should all just accept the paradigm shift, which will allow senior management to consistently build a winning team for many years to come.
1 week, 1 day ago on Ned Colletti was a lame duck GM & Andrew Friedman now moves the Dodgers forward
McCourt gave Ned a multi-year deal right after he announced his highly publicized divorce. Mark Walter didn't want to make a move right away, they wanted to see how he performs with unlimited funds first.
Potato....are you here? If not, I'll catch up with you later.
Thanks....that makes sense.
@Disgruntled Goat @moneynow27
We have that in common.....
So how can Friedman be into analytics, yet not be a numbers guy, according to a report?
Steelmohawk......so you don't have to scroll back down.....You're correct about GSK.....but I can see a player like GSK acquiring NLNK and their cancer pipeline as well, esp. if NewLink has the first mover advantage....Time will tell, meanwhile, the CDC's approach is pathetic at this point. Thanks for the response.

Didn't miss my window potato, I've been in since $20.....Keep in mind, if this vaccine trial is a success, big pharma will scoop them up for a huge premium. The window has not been missed, I would add on a dip.
For anyone who cares, and more importantly, anyone who has any extra cash lying around....Consider buying NewLink Genetics asap. NewLink has a potential ebola vaccine in trials right now, and this may become THE vaccine for this dreaded virus....Stock symbol is NLNK....... JUST saying......Hello everyone otherwise, we now have a great VP of Operations......Great post Chad.
Showing someone the door is the same thing as having them become a special advisor.....Maybe Ned will advise Andrew Friedman to sign Neshek to a 5 year contract.
1 week, 2 days ago on Welcome To Town, Andrew Friedman
Thank you for that.
Flagged, racist anti-semitic remark.
Ned Colletti is not the General Manager of the Dodgers. Why he would stay on at all with the team is beyond me....although his opportunities are slim out there. Yea! This is awesome news! And the Wall Street experience, I know first hand!
The former GM from the Braves?
1 week, 2 days ago on Hyun-Jin Ryu shares his Jin Ramen with fake Dodgers teammates
Tekmira Pharmaceuticals is relatively close to coming up with a viable cure for the ebola virus.
Ned Colletti is still the General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers as of 4:25 EST. However, there was an unconfirmed report that Ned was seen crying coming out of management meetings this weekend.
1 week, 3 days ago on Hyun-Jin Ryu shares his Jin Ramen with fake Dodgers teammates
Ned will help with the transition. He'll be offered another job in the organization, maybe an advanced scout, or clubhouse maintenance.
@Purple Drank @foldamort
That Dee Gordon guy is really something!
As of 1:39pm EST.
You told me we have a GM as of yesterday. This is an update.
As of 1:33pm EST today.
Ned Colletti is the General Manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
@capnsparrow @moneynow27 @Diane Nguyen
There's not much out there in the way of crash protection. Personally I just think it's the start of a 10% correction, unless the ISIS thing escalates, or Ebola becomes a pandemic, or a similar black swan flies in.
1 week, 4 days ago on You Just Watched The Best-Hitting Outfield In Los Angeles Dodgers History
Cap we're getting awfully close to getting fucked like you said the other day with this market......
Oh wait, the Dodgers, and then the money thing.
After patient care, your health, your family, and your future game changing role in the medical community, it should be next in line.
I hope you trust him without any reservation Diane, that's the most important thing in my opinion.
@Purple Drank @moneynow27
Which of course means it didn't require an answer, but I chose to provide one anyway, in case it wasn't meant to be rhetorical.
APT and LAKE are two companies who manufacture and provide the protective masks, gowns and other clothing to prevent contact with the virus. They're both public companies, you were looking for a place to put your money. Short term though for now, when the hype dies down, they could get crushed.
Crushing baseballs off the best pitcher on the planet.
Maybe she fears Ebola......It's become more of a concern since we last talked about it.
