Was Eric Collins fired along with Lyons?  Anyone know who's doing the East coast road games on SportsNet?

Sick indeed, then we'll just have to worry about the 8th.  Perez seems Ok so far, but Wilson is shaky at best.

If Beckett and Haren continue to pitch like this, if we can average 4 runs a game, we'll win the division for sure.

Donny:  "Yasiel, great game.  You got us a key assist, and hit the 3-run HR."  "Now back to the bench you go tomorrow night, as it's your turn to rotate."  Is this what we can expect throughout the season?

Mattingly is stuck, plain and simple.  There's no easy way to rotate OF's vs. RH pitchers.

OT, but I just noticed in your chart that Crawford has no HR's and 2 RBI's in over 53 AB's.  And we're rotating outfielders.

FedX is doing an adequate job behind the plate.  I'd rather they didn't rush Ellis....it's not like we miss his offense.

And as far as the outfield?

Puig had a monster rookie season last year.  He certainly helps the attendance, and if he plays RF every day, would be a huge plus for this lineup.......His defense and offense are a plus......But since CC, Ethier, and Kemp make more money than the national debt, Puig has to be part of a stupid outfield rotation.  It's like they're waiting, or expecting someone to get injured, so they can say, "see, we're glad we have 4 outfielders."  Well guess what....they have 5 OF's (SVS), 6 if you count Pederson.  This is a big problem, in my opinion.

The matchups are moot, because most of Puig's AB's are a much smaller sample size than the others.  The issue of course is magnified vs. RH pitchers, as it's easy to bench CC and Ethier vs. LF.  Puig could be in the lineup today and Monday, and go 6-9 with 2 HR's and 5 RBI's, and go to the bench Tues. night.  None of this makes any sense to me.

Really though Bob it's not a well kept secret that SVS can hit RH's as well, he's just not given a chance, therefore the small sample size.

I'm more concerned about the platoons and OF rotation situation.  There's certainly an argument that Puig et al sitting every other day can take away any hopes of building momentum.  I don't necessarily blame Donny for this, it's really on Ned.  But a set outfield (of Puig, Kemp, and the other two alternating) would help, in my opinion.

Daniel...nice article.  I'm certainly concerned about the increase in K's for the team, but it's still early.  Let's sweep the series today....Happy Easter.

The other night, Mattingly let Crawford hit in a key situation vs. a LH, rather than SVS.  Last night, Mattingly PH Crawford for SVS vs. a RH......And tonight, Puig sits.

Bash me if you want, but I'm through with Donny.

All the more reason why the Paco demotion is a joke.....With 1 LH in the pen, if his pitch count is too high 1 game, we have no LH the next game or two.......

I have a feeling....just a hunch.....I don't know exactly when, but I have a feeling all of a sudden Matt Kemp is going to get hot, and when he does, it will be like the recent AGon streak, with hits, more OBP, and HR's like the 2011 version.....Anyone feel the same way?

Here's another issue.....some of the relievers have been making 25-30 pitches an inning....Then Donny can't use them the next game, so if J.P. makes too many pitches, they're stuck with an all RH pen, a clear disadvantage in the late innings.  This Paco move is ridiculous....I understand why they didn't send down Withrow, he's lights out, but League?

@steelmohawk

I accept it steel, but I don't have to like it......It's now a glaring weakness in the bullpen, and the way we're (not) scoring runs, the focus becomes more on the pen.

The Paco demotion in favor of keeping League on life support really continues to bothers me.  One of the weaknesses of the Dodger pen the past few years was the fact they only had 1 LH in the pen.  Last year they had 2, sometimes 3.  You never have enough, many teams have 3.

Now we just have J.P., and that's not enough.
