Generic, yes, but I still love it. I really like that they include the use of the blue "note" in the "it's time to hit the high note". That really stuck out and I like the personal touch.

Based on everything written and the pictures taken, he'll be back to pretty damn close to normal in no time. I mean...he's got his typical tongue-sticking-out-of-mouth-as-he-shoots style going like he hasn't missed a beat! ;)

This is yet another HUGE misstep in the Blues' marketing, PR and branding efforts. I also feel that what I just said in my previous sentence is an understatement; this really makes for another facet in which people can poke fun at the club. Some may feel that it's "not that big a deal" but this is wrong on so many levels - most of which you outlined here. It just becomes more and more evident that the Blues need to rethink their PR and marketing strategy as a whole. While they may think that they don't have to do much in the way of branding and that the club itself does enough to promote brand and increase brand awareness they are sorely mistaken. This obvious lack of being in touch with fans, much less being in touch with things that are relevant to this team (which, this is totally NOT - being as it's the "theme" song for our moronic rivals) proves again that they fail to create POSITIVE, interesting and enjoyable brand awareness, don't listen to fans and don't want to work to hard to create something to brand the team with a unique, original and quality concept/theme to build on. I'm sick of hearing excuses from the brass about the players and being in a "rebuilding" year or, etc, etc...it feels like the past few years the PR staff has been "rebuilding" and it's nearly as downright embarrassing as the on-ice efforts at times. This doesn't feel like an effort, but I don't know how else to describe it, but - this PR effort is misguided, ill-thought out, lazy, apathetic, stupid, maddening, confusing and all other negative descriptors possible. Nothing good comes of this PR and I hope and pray to God that the on-ice material can make up for this PR/commercial garbage.

@David Rogers I can see both sides. It never feels good being "second best" but then you add a third and fourth. It's really only what THEY make of it - "they" both in terms of the guys wearing the A and the guys playing alongside them. It's a tad too much...but who knows. It could be what they need, it could cause a bit of a distraction...only time will tell. Though, as it's already been said, that's a stellar cast of leaders and pioneers.

I agree with some people that it's slightly shocking they didn't give Pietrangelo an A, though I still think the choices made are right and absolutely fantastic. This will be a leadership workshop with the ultimate keynote speakers. If people weren't excited before then not only are they crazy, but I hope this is the fire that is lit under fans' rear ends. Not that people should've been surprised that Backes was chosen, but the additional leader roles being filled by the other 4 chosen to wear the A('s).

Yes, we will make the playoffs. How far beyond the first round will we go? Now that I can't answer, however I'm confident in saying that they will succeed in making it in to the playoffs. We have all the key elements as listed by you above - new players, Blues vets, anxious and vigorous youth, vets of the game; they can and will do it this year.

I, too, agree with Rutherford and don't see them NOT using that second line combo. Not to mention, I really, REALLY like that second line combo. I think it's fantastic and Stewart is a great anchor to the Oshie/Bergie duo.

Also - good on you for putting up pictures of the both of them wearing their old Devils stuff. :D

January seems to be a typical Blues mile-marker - make or break. And I'll use that as my marker, too, however, I'm not so quietly happy about these signings! I'm shout-from-the-rooftops excited about these signings. I don't understand why people are complaining about "age" - many have been complaining the team is "too young" anyway, why the sudden change of heart? Whatever, no one will ever be 100% satisfied with this team but I'm pretty stoked myself. These vets could work wonders and even if all they do is light a fire under some butts then they've done enough.

I would be surprised to see any of those UFA's signed again. I know it's sad but with their level of play and what's expected? It's completely disproportionate and some "dead weight" is going to have to be cut out. :/

4 - To be a big copy cat (not really, ha), the home opener against the Flyers. I've never been to a home opener and I got tickets to the game thanks to the Blues organization a mere 6 rows off the ice. I hate Hartnell so being able to yell at him from that close/not far away was awesome. Like you also mentioned, the atmosphere of opening day, the jitters, the crowd, the participation and excitement absolutely can.not.be.matched anywhere. Seeing the new season's opening video, seeing new faces and fresh veterans, every fan with a smile on their face - priceless. Then, of all people, Colaiacovo scores the first goal (pre-cage days!)? I was a goner.

3 - The March 9 game at CBJ when Stewie played hero...AGAIN. I mean, really - the guy is a damn hoss. When he scored in the 3rd to keep up alive and tie the game up, THEN score the OT GWG? Yep. That was the cherry on top, when everyone knew, without a doubt, that he was the real deal and we got our monies worth ten fold.

2 - The March 17 game v. Kings when we blanked out Jonathon Quick, 4-0. I have mad respect for goalies, especially the likes of Quick, and the Kings are a respectable team. D'ags scoring two was kinda awesome, also.

1 - The insanely awesome 10-3 win over Detroit. On top of it being Cam's first in over a year and a half (and seeing his big, dumb grin to boot), the game and it's pace and the upper hand the Blues held throughout the game was just utterly fascinating.
