My gf has that nice turquoise nail polish... where do I hand in my man card?
@JDMized I drove an R32 just before the GTI and was amazed how different they feel. GTI is a zippy hatch, but R32 feels like a big car. Steering response felt slower and handling limits were higher but less feedback and less fun IMO.
@xczillon I got a GTI almost exactly the same time my mate got an ST. I agree GTI is a better allrounder but man the ST sounds sweet. But I do think the GTI factory handling is perfect. Yeah, it rolls too much on the track but for the other 99% on normal roads the weight transition is so easy. Lighter wheels are a top idea
Could be a Hamann modded F40 - they looked a lot like this. ie. jaw-dropping
@RodChong Well its your choice at the end of the day, but I reckon it'd get more votes than the Jarama! ps. I grudgingly voted Countach :)
Wow. Way to drop the ball SH. 70s supercar performance and desire but because it looks like a stock 911 (which was still exotic back then), its denied. But somehow the Vantage gets in even though it was based on the AM V8? Very sad SH...
Thanks heaps for this. Im looking forward to it.
A bit weird, but I think Id have to say electric cars. After seeing the movie In Time, the idea of an electric retro cars kinda interests me.
@Samwhk True. I guess i was hoping more manufacturers would bring more variety...
@Jezza k I didnt know any of that stuff, very interesting. Thanks. Is erebus factory-supported? The r&d costs otherwise would be scary.
I guess Im the only one who hates the so called "Car of the future" idea. The cars are even less like the road cars you can buy. And even more like every other car on the grid. Ill still go to Bathurst, but I wont pretend it actually matters what badge is on the front of the car.
Now that I think about it, this poll got it wrong. It should be the Fun option vs the Lazy option. Lets face it, most buyers (even of GT3s) get PDK/DSG cos its easier in traffic, not cos its faster...
@somebodysb21 @AlexanderBoroday Yep, we do need to accept change - its the way of the future (sadly). My point wad just that this change is happening cos more people want auto so thats what they sell. Its not cos the race team has squeezed out another second per lap.
@somebodysb21 @AlexanderBoroday That used to be true but today accountants from VW make the decisions in Stuttgart. I dont think Walter Rohrl was pushing for the Cayenne! If 50% of gt3 buyers bought manual, they'd offer manual.
For some reason I was expecting cars running 4 or 5 up, Motor Trend style... Love the street vibe anyway. Its like the OK Corral for cars.
Great poll, but of course he should drive for himself alone. The question I have though is, hasn't he been until now? Senna and Schumacher were great drivers, but no-one would call them good sports.
@Dan Tucci Err. Also, clutchless manuals aren't new for Porsches. The Sportomatic was engaged the clutch when touching the gear knob, about 1968. But I guess a "true" Porsche nut like you knew that already...
@Dan Tucci 993s are air-cooled. 996s were the first water-cooled 911s, circa 2000.
Needs more sharp edges...
@apex_DNA The only FWD sought after and respected by you perhaps. The other cars on this list have won races and awards too. Im not saying you should respect them, but I do and so do a lot of true petrolheads.
