I like the we signed Brass but certainly a little high.

Why didn't Zucc get a better deal? He is a more sound and consistent player.  My guess is that this was based on two years of playoff rounds of being the best player on the rangers.

Mc D over Staal and Girardi as captain.  St. Louis and Zucc, Assistant captains

I love Brass and Zucc but in my opinion, he does't deserve more than Zucc.

@BobDunne @IhateGaborik @Gorangers0525 So was M Staal awful in playoffs and finals, and most of the season.  I am sorry about his health issues but he was not good.

I think trading stall would be the best move at this point in time with stall having one more year left.

@Bring back Langdon @leftwingbarbara So you would possibly trade him for E. Kane?  He could be possible; he and his team were not  happy with one another.

With all this being said, I would be happy to keep him but certainly not on the line that he played on.  I hope he gets better and becomes more consistent, especially if we do keep him : )

@Bring back Langdon @leftwingbarbara @Sniper Turcotte So because Kane, Toewes and Stamkos are impossible, we should give up?  Marlow as a free agent??? For a trade, anyone is possible if they fall out of favor with their team.  But, we could just settle....??? Evander Kane was a possibility at one point...

@Bring back Langdon @leftwingbarbara Think you miss the point.  No offense taken to your comment and won't respond to your right wing position. If you want top line people, then you make the trade. Obviously we need McD. We could get by without Krieder as was evidenced when he has gone out with injury.

@Bring back Langdon @leftwingbarbara You would get more for Kreider than Hags.....

3 weeks, 4 days ago on Conversation @ http://nyrangersblog.com/

@Sniper Turcotte He is a possible "top end player".  He was good, not great and did not produce consistently with the players he was playing with.  Do you realize that we are still missing a big piece in that we need a main center?  How do you think we could get one without trading someone. Of course we can't get Stamkos, et. al.  That was tongue in cheek, but we do still need someone and in my humble opinion, Kreider is the trade bait, with Moore if necessary.

@Bring back Langdon @leftwingbarbara I would certainly package him for Stamkos, Kane or Toews!  While he did play better, he needs to have someone other than Nash to play with and without assistance, I don't feel that he will progress to the point where he needs to be for next season. He needs a strong, real 1st line center to work with so then get rid of Stepan, and I can work with that scenario too.

I can answer that after we see who is signed - definitely need to sign Zucc and Brassard.  If for some reason we did not sign Kreider and/or J. Moore, could we get some stronger pieces, as you mentioned in the post???  Would that make us a better team moving forward?  I would be willing to risk those two to be better.

Kevin, as everyone said, great write up. He did wonderful work after Hurricane Sandy and I went to the benefit game in Atlantic city during the lockout. He is a stellar human being and apparently a great leader in the locker room but the amount of the contract is the real problem. If it was less, he would stay a Ranger.

Thank YOU so much for the great writing, the assistance, and the positivity you presented the entire season! I am proud of this Rangers team and thank you for allowing me to share that with true blue fans while out out of NYC.

Onward and Upward to next season!

( I hope you also take a well deserved vacation this Summer so we can have you back in August!)

@Chris M MSL, Brass. Poop, and Zucc all play with heart and CARE!  It is very difficult to tell if Nash cares as his affect is always the same. No emotion at all.  While I am pretty sure that he is upset with HIS play, is he upset that it is effecting the team effort in the Stanley Cup Finals? i really don't know.

While I don't think that these two refs are great, It really isn't McCauley and O'Halloran's fault but the linesmen's fault.  And, I do hope that the NBC public address of the cheating is taken to heart by the ref organization to remove the cheating individual(s) from the face off circle for this game

I hope that they are not just hangin' around but are focusing on  the task at hand. I am glad that they don't feel pressure but I sure hope that they ALL play a strong all around game for three FULLL periods.

Here is an example of the non-supportive media in NYC from the NY TImes:

AnalysisRangers Save Face, but Still Face an Uphill BattleBy LYNN ZINSER

The Rangers needed two shots by Los Angeles to somehow sputter short of the goal to avoid being eliminated from the finals on home ice, but the Kings seem undaunted.

Kevin, great post but I didn't see anything about Stepan.  I will  admit that I have been negative regarding Stepan's play in the past but I truly think he is better with the cage on, especially last night!  He was getting into the corners and fighting for pucks and actually looking to shoot instead of just passing. he was a great player last night!  I am humbled!!
