I have been on a new job now for about 4 weeks. HORRIBLE manager, I have already have been questioned as to my abilities on my 2nd day at work, then my 2nd week of work, had a verbal warning already just because of mistakes (Due to learning new databases and procedures which not given adequate and proper training) AND now given a written warning just today not even into completed 1 month of employment. UNBELIEVABLE! WIsh I could giver her this article to read. I have been a manager myself for 3 years at previous employment, but I have never experienced this kind of BS from anyone I have worked with with a manager expecting someone to learn NOW! She is one of the worst teachers and managers I have ever worked with in my entire career. She hasnt got a clue. Expects you to learn new, complicated govt databases in less then 2 days time, then comes back to you frustrated with a report of all your mistakes, then pulls your work away from you and has other employees do it only to point out the mistakes again, then also takes heresay comments from others in the office as to my "problems" and "refusals" to do work etc etc which is total BS. Unbelievable! Lesson I learn from this at least is how NOT to be as a manager in any future employment. One of the WORST experiences working with a boss in over 30 years of working. She has such unrealistic expectations it is ridiculous. Managers should not expect employees to learn something by only hearing, but by DOING! ESPECIALLY when it comes to using a COMPUTER program! AND new employees who have no prior experience in the field they have been hired in. Unfortunately, some people have poor people skills nor much common sense when it comes to teaching people, so unfortunately will chase excellent employees out the door real quick. I should have seen the high turnover rate in that department as a BIG red flag during my interview with this woman and her boss and turned down the offer, they were just looking for warm bodies to fill and didn't take the time to do their research. Eegads. Victim of horrible hiring practice and poor management not a fun time. Going to leave this job REAL quick.

@RileyanNabelle get a life
@RonaldDDey frickin morons
I think the reason why, at least for me, that I am more submissive is I was treated very badly as a child by my parents, and abused, criticized, etc. My mom was very controlling, and my dad ruled with physical threats or spanked with a belt many times. I don't remember anything of what I did, there was no lesson learned except that they are in charge, and I had absolutely no say in any matter, and (very long story) I have had to go to counseling and therapy for years to recover from both of their toxic parenting. So sometimes in an effort to make sure I am not being an abusive parent, I go a little to the other side and be a little more tolerant and leniant, however, I have had to adjust my parenting style because I notice that my child tends to take advantage of my tolerant and flexible nature as a teenager. So I have learned to be more assertive and not take attitude right away and it is working. Being a parent is a learning process.
