My lifestyle had been determined by my pain levels on a given day. Those levels were unpredictable and incapacitating to the point where I really had no life that could be counted on. I was not able to work a regular job due to the unpredictable nature of my chronic pain. The CBDs in medical cannabis have given me control, immediate and titratable, of my pain levels and how I wish to subvert them without compromising the rest of my senses. I work a small and flexible schedule that allows for sudden-onset pain days that require me to rest. It's not the 14-hour days I was used to working but that's undoubtedly better.

I agree wholeheartedly with all you have said here. The first time I tried liquor I was so so so sick, but did that stop me ?~! No--I drank for another eight years-got sick every time and still it took years for me to quit alcohol. Maureen is no spokesperson for the medical cannabis industry anymore than I can speak to liquor intelligently.

One of your best posts so far this year. Excellent pile of links-I've been gone linkers for the last three-quarters of an hour without realizing !~! That's the best time spent.

These water bottle covers use up bits of yarn and keep the bottles from condensing onto my desk. These are made holding three strands, making a 24 stitch circle and then crocheting UP for fourteen rows to make a cover that fits a square Fiji half liter bottle perfectly. I used a G hook I think-maybe a bit bigger to hold three strands. They throw into the washer and dryer and are coveted by my house guests who try to take one home when I'm not looking !~!

"Be good for goodness sake" plays hugely in my life. I live from the goodness of my heart and I try to live each day so that if I died tonight we would know I had done the best I could that particular day. I love that sentiment in crochet. Thank you for sharing this gentleman with us.

Organization is an ongoing project-I live in the East Bay with husband in 542 sq ft and another 120 for a studio/workspace/tools and storage in the back. Creativity is the key. Using whatever containers come free, and they do regularly, I shift and change where the supplies live and how they are stowed as the projects finish and new ones begin, becoming WIPs in their own right. I love the constant ebb and flow-I grew up in tidal zones and cannot release awareness of the moon cycles. You have thrown us some helpful ideas in this article; thanks.

I do call myself an artist, altho it took me until I am in my fifties to say it out loud and put it on a business card. I mean it and there are concrete, well fabric and yarn mostly, examples of it all over my world: my home, daughters' homes, friends' places, in my car, and most of the pictures taken around here have some of my stuff 'photo-bombing' somewhere in the frame. "Artist" lives in all of us, we have to allow her/him to surface and be honored; for some that may never happen, for others it could take decades, and still others, from the start, just know deep in their souls that they are who they are and the world can be damned. Those are some of my favorite people ever.

Crochet is an easily learned craft which offers immediate gratification. I believe that most anyone can learn how to do it. I have taught developmentally disabled adults and teens, elderly, kids... One nine-year old dove into a shawl of her own pattern less than a month after she picked up a hook and begged skeins from my stash. Talk about a satisfying experience in educational  endeavors--that one had me riding the crest of the wave for a few months.

My mom knitted; I prefer crochet for its versatility and speed of completion. That added to the ease of only working with one stitch at a time won the day. I love hooking even if all i do is tear it out and start again next day. Soothing, repetitive, comforting and comfortable... I am preaching to the choir here I know. Thanks for our fab blog. I enjoy it every time I read it. Come see me at LyndaLand.blogspot.com for cute baby pics, quilts, crocheting, gardening and the gorgeousness of northern California.
