@Bay_of_Puigs I believe we had a Mike Scioscia's Tragic Illness league two years ago.

@Bay_of_Puigs I might.  I play in at least two leagues each year. I'm kind of picky about how the stats/points are counted, though.  Wins are stupid.

I'll never deadbeat out of it, though.  I usually play in a daily league.

Just got an email that there is an important meeting that I'm supposed to be at right now.  But the boss forgot to mention the location of said meeting.  So there are about a dozen of us sitting at our computers, trying to guess where this meeting is at.

My job is in a building that has an enormous campus - over 100,000 square feet.

Guess I'll read DoDi until I get another text or email.

He's getting a year because he's failed a whole bunch of drug tests already, and the terms of his making things right with his employer was to go totally clean on everything INCLUDING alcohol.

I don't disagree at all with you about them needing to better about physical abuse. I think that's forthcoming.  But if your employer forbids you to do something, then you should either stop doing it or find a different employer.

Who on the current Dodgers squad do you feel like is destined for the baseball HOF?

Kershaw, Greinke, AGon?  Puig certainly could but it seems crazy to even be talking about him yet.

I love Greinke.  But I think the time to get out with him is after 2015.  Seems like at some point he's going to get hurt or fade, or both.  If we get a year in 2015 that was as good as 2013 and 2014, then I'd say his signing and contract were a success and move on.

He's great but he's also replaceable.

To me, paying a butt-ton for Scherzer's 30 through 37 seasons and, consequently, having to give up 28 year-old Jordan Zimmerman as a result, ends up approaching a lateral move.

Zimmerman is not as good but they're not that much different, and Zman is younger.

@Disgruntled Goat How many examples are there of a pitcher being consistently good (#1 or #2 worthy) every single year in their age 30 through 37 seasons?

I'm thinking that list is pretty small indeed.

Ok I just now realized Scherzer is 30.  Damn.  I remember him pitching what seems like just a few years ago.  What did he, graduate when he was 25?  Weird.

So that makes me feel better about not signing him if he was wanting seven years.  That seems... risky.

Now Kershaw, yeah.  Sign that guy to a 12 year contract as far as I'm concerned.
