@TroyKidwell yeah I think it will really benefit him and KI to learn from and play with proven NBA All-Stars around them. But that's prob an obvious understatement. Thanks for the comment my man!

@RodMillerUSA Good points Rod. I'm sure his injury history is being considered. The other thing about Love is that he is 25 years-old. Assuming he can be convinced to sign long-term, he's obviously a player you can win now and in the future with. Assuming you don't have to give up too much beyond Wiggins, could be a risk worth taking. Either way, though, the Cavs are in tremendous position to compete for an ECF. Thanks again

@TroyKidwell I like that defensive combo too. The good part of this debate is there is no real wrong answer. Either way you go, there's tons of positives. Will be interesting to see what happens.
@TroyKidwell Yeah I heard Wilkens make that comparison to KJ on the radio recently as well. And he was a backup PG to Mark Price so I get what you're saying on a surplus. But does Andrew Wiggins play LBJ's position? They can certainly play together, but if LeBron is going to be your three? I like Monroe as well. The Cavaliers do need rim protection. But Kevin Love is the best power forward in the NBA and a big three of Kyrie, Love and LeBron is the best Big 3 in basketball. I'll take my chances that Blatt will be able to help instill enough defensive principles to make that lineup work.
@RodMillerUSA thanks Rod

@tommyjenkins don't think so. He's a Cleveland guy whose company is based downtown. The commute was probably getting a little rough

@SteveStrandburg totally agree
@E_D_Valente Good point on Zeller, he def had a solid first half offensively. In the postgame presser, Brown said Zeller only played limited mins in second half for defensive reasons. Said Cavs were giving up too many easy baskets at the rim so he made a change. Not sure if Bennett played better D necessarily, but that was the reason for no TZ not playing in second

@GhostDog9 Good points GhostDog and great White Men Can't Jump reference. I think it's applicable, too. Have to wonder if he's been getting through to these guys. But like you said, I think the presence of Deng along with Varejao could potentially improve that disconnect. Deng's 3Q was maybe an example of this--it kinda helped spark Waiters in the fourth. Hopefully he keeps leading by playing the winning basketball he did last night. Thx man

@oldseaminer I don't necessarily know, but they do play different positions. Delly is the third PG, Sergey is behind wings like Waiters, CJ, Gee and Clark. That said, I do think Karasev should get some time and they can use some of Gee and Clark's SF minutes combined to get him in there.
Slow Claps. Standing Ovations. Chills. Unreal Mr. Jackson, sir.

@SqipBayless what are you talking about, Squip?
Good stuff as always Bric. I like the idea of bringing Lighty into camp, always have. I think that David Lighty's ability on the defensive end of the floor gives him an opportunity to play in the NBA over other guys w/ his size and skill set offensively. Think he could be Dahntay Jones-ish, and mean that as a compliment. Dahntay will play 10+ in the NBA. Not sure GW and/or AM are attainable/realistic options though.

Good point on Sessions being the most underrated Cavs player this season. I agree with you on that. He's playing too good to remain a back-up, which is why I think he goes somewhere to start. Whether Cavs trade him, or he ends up doing so later on.

@Bric Good points as always Bric. I do think - while I don't know and haven't heard anything along these lines from anybody - that Manny Harris on a 10-day like he currently is does have something to do with maybe a Sessions deal down the road. While Ramon is technically a back-up PG - and does play those minutes - he also plays a lot of minutes lately alongside Irving like. So maybe they want to find out if Manny can do that, in the event of a deal. Thanks for the comments buddy.

@stars85 I was simply referencing that topic that you wrote three paragraphs about. I wasn't complaining. @AndrewSchnitkey Haha-I actually read your piece on the trade Andy debate right after I posted this, great minds-ha. I agree with what you wrote totally in that "ultimately, the decision may rest in what the return for Varejao is" as well. I just have a feeling the return for him right now could be higher than we think it might be come deadline time. I also agree with you too in that there is absolutely no reason to trade Andy "just because" as well. I don't think Chris Grant would do that either, I don't think he operates that way, which is a pretty good sign for this rebuild IMO. Lessons learned from recent eras gone by maybe. Thanks for the comment my man.
2 years, 11 months ago on Al Jefferson Channels His Inner Karl Malone As Cavs Lose To Utah | January
@Bric Bric, honestly I cannot agree with you more regarding the way these two young guys have carried themselves off the court thus far.
I spent time talking to Tristan for a SLAM feature I did on him, and after we spoke for a while, my biggest takeaways were how refreshingly humble he is in addition to how very serious he is about being a good teammate, improving as a player, and simply helping his team win. Kyrie Irving appears the same way too.
This coupled with your point about them both being extraordinary talents, is def pretty exciting. Especially, like you said, when you rewind back to that Ricky Davis led group once coached by Paul Silas.
Great points, appreciate the comment.

@Mikethefan Razor Ramon is a great nickname Mike, well played. So first of all, thanks for that. Secondly, on the teams Razor fits with:
1. Knicks - Agreed. And I really do think Shumpert will start at the SG spot this season for NY, he will be good too. Landry Fields was pure speculation on my part, but it is also a good point by you on his trouble adjusting to playing with 'Melo. Shumpert will do his damage in transition, off of defensive steals and turnovers primarily, so for that reason he does fits better.
2. Memphis - I hadn't thought of that, but possibly as a back-up to Mike Conley. They do have a lot of wing players like you said, especially if they sign Battier, but the flip-side of that for the Grizzlies is they also liked some of what Greivas Vasquez brought last season plus they drafted Josh Selby (who will prob play some PG) high in the 2nd round too. So maybe they don't need a back-up PG - technically - however Razor is better than both Vasquez and Selby right now too.
Good stuff man.

@slapdoghoops I'm all for the BD / Kyrie Irving backcourt, but if so I'd like to put the ball more in Kyrie's hands and let BD try to play off him. But...even if you did that, you can't do it for 48 minutes a night and still probably need a seasoned SG with some size at that position on your roster. Enter, AP.
@Charlotte74 I hear you on that, could be a big payday-ha

Good points bro. Totally agree on Casspi and Gibson. 70 might be cool on Andy, assuming he rebounds pretty good in that game - not sure what that category was for him. Ramon was higher than I thought he'd be at 72 also, but it might be fair. He'll be one of the best back-up PG's in NBA next season...for whatever that's worth.

@jjkaralis I don't think it's a referrendum on Cleveland so much as it's Derrick Williams admitting that he didn't want to have to deal with the expectations and pressures of being the number one pick in this particular case. No pressure at all up in Minnesota, and there prob never will be either.

@slapdoghoops agreed that you can't teach / coach size, but I don't see how you can penalize the Irving as a prospect b/c there was another guy you'd rather take at one. @slapdoghoops I was always against that combo draft option, but it will be interesting to see which two players that maybe / could've been had end up with better careers. Kanter / Knight like you referenced, or Kyrie / TT. My money's on Irving and Tristian, tho...
