The exterior is just perfect. Everything fits the car so well.

The interior modifications however are not my taste. The steering wheel is nice but I know there are more vintage looking radio's with all the features of modern radio's available and that would have looked a lot better then some typical car radio. The shifter looks out of place and so does the seat. It's a contrast how well the additions to the exterior and under the bonnet fit with the style of the car but in the interior the new parts don't blend in at all.

Don't get me wrong though, it's an amazing car and I would do terrible things to own it.

Tesla has really showed the world electric powered vehicles are a plausible way to get around. Also makes me wonder what's taking the other manufacturers so long to make a Model S competitor/killer.

It's great to see that companies are starting to customise electric cars and hybrids. It will help get to get rid of the the "tree hugger" stigma that surrounds these cars for certain groups of people.

My money is still on fuelcell cars to be the ultimate replacement of the petrol car with electric cars as an step in between. For the electric car to be 100% suitable for year round long trips ( for representatives, sales folk etc. you know the people who are always on the road)  there will need to be some big advancements in battery tech. They need to be less effected by temperature, need to be able to recharge faster, be smaller and weigh less. That's a long road but it'll be interesting to see where that road leads.

I hope to see a feature of the Saleen FourSixteen (a more track oriented Model S) in the future.

One of the best looking sedan's on the market right now imo.

One thing stood out to me though about the steering: "Because there are no bushings to give it any sort of play, it feels much more connected to the road than any sports sedan that I have driven." I've read some reviews calling the steering weird and that it takes some getting used to because everything is filtered out. Effectively removing that input that tells you what the wheels are doing.

Interesting to hear the opposite.

Great video with some spectacular footage but I would have liked to have some car sounds mixed in with the music. I want to hear those highly tuned drift machines not just see em.

Really nice car. Not a huge fan of the "slammed" look myself but overall it looks really good. And with cars like this Hawaii really needs a race track.

I do agree that I wouldn't have done this to a limited run version. There are plenty of S2K's out there to modify so why pick a version they only made 1400 off. Leave limited run cars for the collectors and do what you want with the regular models.

A great man once said "Volvo is turbo and proper mad" and it couldn't be more fitting for this car. What a machine!

I'd love to do something like this. But if it has to be a daily I'd try to make it AWD for when the road is wet or snowy.

If I have to pick three cars from the show for my garage it would be this: Volvo XC(90) Concept, Porsche 911 Targa, Toyota FT-1.

If we are talking a five car garage, then add the BMW M3 (just to be clear that's the sedan) and the Lexus RC-F.

The Volvo would be the year-round daily although the M3 and 911 could be used as daily drives if the weather permits it, and the rest for fun. Lots of fun. Gotta have fun in live man.

@Larry Chen  Yeah, the 993 seems to be the go to 911 these days. It's easy to see why but it does drive up the price. If you want a really cheap Porsche get one of the front engine models like the 944. Sadly they are under appreciated simply because they are not 911's.

Really nice car. The old Mercs have got a great look to em. I would change two things: 1. It sits to low imo and would look better with a bit more ground clearance. Also the rear wheel is at an angle and on street cars that doesn't look right imo. 2. I don't like seats with no headrests. I just don't like the small looking seats.

@seaninc  @guReMcO Yeah the Boss 302 around Laguna Seca. I read about it. It's just that I think that sort of handling is limited to the more track oriented versions like the Mustang Boss or Camaro Z28 and the rest of the range is still "lacking". Having said that I've never actually seen the latest model Mustang or Camaro irl. Muscle cars are really uncommon where I live. So what do I know. :P

But what a cool store. The closest comparison I've seen was a Marklin train shop, it was just a neat and tidy. Most hobby stores around here are dens filled with clutter and shelves all the way to the ceiling. It's a shame because that creates a barrier for people to enter and maybe start a great hobby.

@Hanma I kinda want to defend the Vette but since I think the new one is the most unoriginal yet I can't. I don't really care much for recent Ferrari's (everything after the 360 is boring as hell imo) so I haven't looked at em in great detail. The Enzo did indeed have the nose in a similar style so I'll give you that one. Guess I need to pay more attention to Ferrari in the future.

@Hanma You really like Ferrari don't you. :P I still don't see how the Viper or Vette stole anything and just because they are sports coupe's. And show me where SRT or Chrysler SPECIFICALLY said Ferrari, not "European styling" (sounds familiar but can't find a reference right now) but Ferrari. If you can't then that's an assumption on your part and not a fact.

1 year, 5 months ago on La Amazing: Ferrari’s New Hypercar

Reply

@Hanma  I don't feel like going into an endless discussion about design and stealing so I'll keep it short. The headlights of the FF and 458 are much taller and more "extreme" in design then the Vette and Viper headlights. The Viper especially as it's own destinct design that is clearly an evolution of the previous models and actually looks a lot like the first Viper. I will say this: I feel that the Viper's taillights look way too much like a Maserati Gran Turismo's taillights. But that's as far as I'll go.

Oh and that bit that sticks out on the front of the LaFerrari wasn't on the FF, 458, California, F430 or 599. So I can say they got that from the Vette or even from Mercedes (SLR kinda has that).

1 year, 5 months ago on La Amazing: Ferrari’s New Hypercar
