slow clap. Loved NBC in the 90's. The NBA is fine but Fox has done a horrid job with the NFL and MLB. Spending that extra billion on the Olympics was a huge blow.
Funny on so many levels. a) espn hasn't formally hired him yet. He hasn't even formally retired. b) this all just popped up today. No need to go HAM on your employer just yet before letting things play out. c) Maybe he should be concerned with the wrongful death suits he settled out of court than this. d) Is Jerry Rice a journalist? Is Hugh Douglass? Does being on ESPN make you a journalist? Although I appreciate the thumbing your nose at ESPN with journalistic integrity in mind, Blackistone is grandstanding. Love the faces of the other panelists....
the fact Bleacher Report is getting more credibility from CNN without earning at all makes me we want to throw up.
A sad day for capitalism and a sad day for journalism. It's painful to read to this article knowing what these 3 companies stand for.
Sports Illustrated has made it a practice to beat their chests with a big cover story that most fans read and yawn at. Ohio State, UCLA, and now this garbage.
Putting it on the cover doesn't make it a bomb shell. Just another fart in the wind for SI
That's a great story. Clearly Jed gets it. Too many owners are solely focused on profits with winning being a distant second. Nurturing relationships with fans and on a personal no less, should be part of team ownership 101. Glad to see Jed making it part of daily routine.
Nailed it. DirectTV is just being arrogant at this point but unfortunately they can afford to be by adding subscribers elsewhere.
Fox Sports Alternate? What's on that channel now that the Pac 12 has propped up their own network.
well done Mr. Koo. I am thinking of switching as a Pac 12 alumni but at the same token i already paid for the Sunday Ticket. It's frustrating and they're full of shit.
It was just insanely terrible. Local preview shows for high school games are more polished than this was. Was a total shit show.
This site always thumps its chest about how the SEC has some big deal in the works while discounting that other conference have got big paydays. With no SEC Network, left to harp on others.
Fact: Pac 12 Networks are on Time Warner, Brighthouse, Comcast, and Cox. I think they're going to be okay.
Not even a Pac 12 fan, but thinking that they haven't got something here is asinine. Not even ESPN2 opened with this much distribution.
right around break even is a not exactly turning a profit. They came saying they'd lose $100 million. I bet they're around a $40 million loss but with some creative accounting they can make it under $10. Not a profit though.
It wouldn't surprise me that Sarah loves SAI. She's also smitten with Bleacher Report.
This is a horrible idea. Poll the owners, players, and coaches of all pro teams and I'd imagine you'd find less than 1% of them wanting to have 2 games on the road to start. If it aint broke....don't fix it.
Someone actually wants to buy Bleacher Repot? That blew my mind. I gets nobody gives a shit about credibility these days
i once had to go in a game. Getting out of the equipment, doing my business, etc, almost made me miss a whole period.
@ukraine is weak @unclesmedley yeah what a psycho commment by @BartSum . Dude needs therapy asap.
I guess it kind of makes sense as USC games are later in the day and there isn't as much stuff they could broadcast. Still though USC doesn't even have a huge fan-base (often not selling out), so I doubt this will actually be a big ratings grabber for them
love these vids but have no clue who they are made for, what this company does, and why they're so ridiculous. That said, I don't want to know.
Sanchez looked like a huge emo too.
isn't the Raiders President black? How would firing Jackson be a racial thing? The Raiders have always been ahead of the curve on race (Art Shell).
Whitlock's apology was clearly coerced through back channels by Fox Sports and his agent. He's not sorry and it shines through. His apology was half assed and almost as asinine as most of the stuff he tweets.
Fox Sports is garbage top to bottom. Announcing, pre game/post game shows, writers, etc. No wonder ESPN has free reign to dominate the sports world
You've connected a lot of dots here. It's pretty clear that they wear the pants when it comes to revenue, realignment, and promotion.
It's just funny to see them not even acknowledge the fact that they're a big part of this.
The Big Ten is looking at a major payday if they don't enter into some asinine extension with ESPN ahead of the expiration of their deal.
