"It’s worth pondering how one can reconcile Outkick the Coverage as “the official college football blog of FoxSports.com” if Travis’ views don’t reflect the views of Fox Sports."

The saddest thing is that FOX things Travis is helping them. Yes he provides some traffic to their site/his site and some people tune in to watch whatever stupid shit he says next, but the eyeball he attracts is a pretty shitty demographic while FOX's reputation plummets further with the majority of football fans.

i thought it was just my friends. Basements are good if you have a good one but if the fridge or bathroom is up a level, it can be an issue. We had one guy tumble down the stairs and had to take him to the hospital.

Never seen the interview before. Have wanted to see them fight. Only thing I'd actually pay a PPV for. They'll be so washed up they ever do this that it will be a shitty fight although people will still care.

The idea of Fox getting the Olympics is fucking terrifying. Not only the on air talent but just production. ESPN would actually be pretty interesting. Would they tape delay on ABC and just roll with a lot of daytime coverage on ESPN and ESPN2? Perhaps other Disney channels?
1 year, 2 months ago on If Fox, ESPN or CBS got the Olympics, who would host?
Clay Travis actually makes me miss Andy Roddick talking about college football. ESPN was vulnerable in terms of CFB coverage with May and aging Holtz and Corso. They made their own bed by hiring Travis.

KNBR refuses to comment. Thinks it will go away. While I do give them some credit for loyalty/standing behind their guy, a 48 hour suspension is total bullshit and the lack of comment is too. Cowardly in fact.
Given KNBR has maybe 12 core advertisers that are easy to find, I don't think it will be too hard for those unhappy with how they have handled this to put the pressure on via advertisers.

I called to cancel. Was dead set on doing it. But then they threw about $500 of value my way. Hard to say no to that. Not worth it for them imo then just picking up the channel.

slow clap. Loved NBC in the 90's. The NBA is fine but Fox has done a horrid job with the NFL and MLB. Spending that extra billion on the Olympics was a huge blow.

Funny on so many levels. a) espn hasn't formally hired him yet. He hasn't even formally retired. b) this all just popped up today. No need to go HAM on your employer just yet before letting things play out. c) Maybe he should be concerned with the wrongful death suits he settled out of court than this. d) Is Jerry Rice a journalist? Is Hugh Douglass? Does being on ESPN make you a journalist? Although I appreciate the thumbing your nose at ESPN with journalistic integrity in mind, Blackistone is grandstanding. Love the faces of the other panelists....

the fact Bleacher Report is getting more credibility from CNN without earning at all makes me we want to throw up.

A sad day for capitalism and a sad day for journalism. It's painful to read to this article knowing what these 3 companies stand for.
2 years, 3 months ago on CNN moves forward with Bleacher Report replacing Sports Illustrated
Sports Illustrated has made it a practice to beat their chests with a big cover story that most fans read and yawn at. Ohio State, UCLA, and now this garbage.
Putting it on the cover doesn't make it a bomb shell. Just another fart in the wind for SI

That's a great story. Clearly Jed gets it. Too many owners are solely focused on profits with winning being a distant second. Nurturing relationships with fans and on a personal no less, should be part of team ownership 101. Glad to see Jed making it part of daily routine.

This site always thumps its chest about how the SEC has some big deal in the works while discounting that other conference have got big paydays. With no SEC Network, left to harp on others.
Fact: Pac 12 Networks are on Time Warner, Brighthouse, Comcast, and Cox. I think they're going to be okay.
Not even a Pac 12 fan, but thinking that they haven't got something here is asinine. Not even ESPN2 opened with this much distribution.

right around break even is a not exactly turning a profit. They came saying they'd lose $100 million. I bet they're around a $40 million loss but with some creative accounting they can make it under $10. Not a profit though.

This is a horrible idea. Poll the owners, players, and coaches of all pro teams and I'd imagine you'd find less than 1% of them wanting to have 2 games on the road to start. If it aint broke....don't fix it.

Whitlock's apology was clearly coerced through back channels by Fox Sports and his agent. He's not sorry and it shines through. His apology was half assed and almost as asinine as most of the stuff he tweets.

A little harsh given only maybe 2-3 of those opportunities you mention for ESPN were really easy decisions. That said, I pay $10 a month to two different sites for my alma mater. Both of those sites make more money off of me a year than ESPN gets from me spanning digital, television, etc. There are millions like me and it is rather curious that ESPN isn't involved in this market and that Fox and Yahoo are.
I am not sure if there is a bigger business failure but this has to make the short list for a typically sound company.

I think Ohio State will get some competition as there are some good teams and the road is tough in conference. @axhfan I don't think FSN will really do anything here. They're focused on FX adding sports. Versus though if they get the 8 game nfl package might be something. I think the main thing is that while we're outraged.... maybe what 5-10% of people who watch ESPN even know about this. In some ways I think it's better that Lyles fessed up now. I think this issue is way more shady than what's happened at Ohio State but they got beat down by the media for ducking the issue and playing coy with the admission of guilt. That team is now tarred and featered by the media and really I think most of their issues are probably very common place at any BCS school, but they just let the story continue for months.
Lyles going public gives the story nowhere to hide and run and while it sucks now and until it winds down, I think ultimately better this way. I think I heard "You can't run from the wind.....you turn your sails and face it" and I think that applies here.
